SS12SPECIAL5 for £50 off when you spend £150 but this may not work, their codes are usually account specific.

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 11:15

I object wholeheartedly to SMcC bag and shoe prices and decided I would never go there.... until I saw these yesterday If I didn't buy anything else for SS I could justify them, maybe!

Love your bag Scarf I have a real soft spot for red accessories.

I had a bit of a spree yesterday, bought the Maje mosaic top I'd had my eye on, this jersey TS blazer as a cardigan alternative, and Fleeceys Marant-a-likes which are now reduced. I've also replaced my sewing machine which was flood damaged, I'm dying to make dd some clothes, going to stock up on some Liberty prints. Rufus I decided not to buy the MD blouse and to try and make it myself, I thinkI'll need a lot of coaching from my mum!

Red I hope you and dd have a better day today. Ds1 was first hospitalized with asthma at 22 months, very hard to see them struggling for breath and watching the sats go up and down. Hopefully they can get the medication right for her and you can go home soon. Take care of yourself.

notyummy · 22/02/2012 11:24

Just popping in to say I hope things are going ok for DD Red.

Found a suitable Joseph dress by any chance Ollie Grin?

Thanks for the kindle info Scarf. It sounds like what I suspected. You are right about how handy they are for travel, but I'm not sure how much use I would get from it otherwise. I currently have a teetering pile of books by my bed that I have ordered from the library and I suspect it would have cost me the best part of £70 to download them, and it has cost me £2 to obtain from local library. Until the prices start balancing themselves out I just don't think I can justify the difference.

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 11:36

Annie I love those Reiss trousers, bag is nice too. I've had my eye on this bag, but can't justify it as I have similar ones already.

Marsha love those MIHs, oh to have the weather to wear cropped jeans and sandals ,sigh. The temperature has gone up as forecast, but it's gloomy and drizzling. Can't stand these grey skies.

Love these Dutti sandals

Fritzi I'm a bit disappointed by the MArni, too, not great colors for me. Ther's a big spread in Grazia with all the pieces, more than were in the link. I think I may go for shoes and bags.

I was explaining the concept of Lent to dd yesterday, which made me think I might give something up myself this year just for the challenge. The two possibilities are chocolate and shopping. Seemed like a good idea yesterday, I'm not quite so sure now though! I really would like to give up choc, or at least cut down, but I make hot choc for the dc every morning by melting Green & Blacks in milk. I'm not sure I have the will of steel required to stop myself from sneaking a bit. I've done it before and I know once I get through the first few days of cravings it would be ok. Given that the builders have just started gutting our house, I'm not sure this is the time to be setting myself such a severe challenge Hmm

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 11:38

NY my mum got a Kindle for Christmas and has spent a fortune on amazon since then. When is your trip? How fantastic to have it to look forward to Smile

Red I hope that DD is feeling somewhat better today.

Scarf What a gorgeous bag!

I love those sandals Verity, I am already having withdrawal symtoms from a lack of choclate, and it's only the first day of lent, don't do it!

I too am disappointed with the marni colours, they're by and large all the colour ways that I tend to avoid.Sad

notyummy · 22/02/2012 11:53

Trip is late March Verity. I am busy collating all the travel details on to Trip It on our iphones...and we hope to see some old friends who emigrated to Australia who are arranging to travel to Noosa at the same time as we are there. I am also composing an email to each hotel/apartments requesting specific rooms based on the Tripadvisor feedback I have collated. Obsessed, moi...?

On a travel note, I am also about to book a long girls weekend away in Sept with 4 friends. We have been through a long compex process of finding places that we all wanted to go to - and that people could fly direct to from Scotland as well as the Midlands and London. It's not as easy as you think! The results are in and it looks like we will be going to Budapest, somewhere I haven't been to before now. We've got a good deal on a very posh hotel, so I intend to book that shortly.

I like the look of the Marni kids collection, however it is safe to say that I will not be purchasing anything from there. DD is oblivious to labels and I cannot justify the outlay!

OllieinOrange · 22/02/2012 12:04

Sooooooo, I've had a dress-related lightbulb moment. Was pondering the KM dress and its cons (namely its shiney and purple - a colour I dont really wear). Said to myself if it was navy I wouldnt have to think twice. Also thought of the HL dresses and how I liked the drapey style and of what Mrs CB (she is SO wise) said about looking out for something that combined the KM and HL dresses and then, ping (visualise a big lightbulb above my head).

I thought of that navy Joseph dress I linked to a few weeks ago. At the time thought it was too exxy but am finally realising its worth paying for something that really does tick all the boxes.

I can only find it for sale on the MyWardrobe site and of course its out of stock in a 12 so have gone for a 14. Its the perfect combination of colour and drapes and high neckline which suits me.
Ladies, I give you (fingers crossed its cut on the small side) Ollie's Forever Dress ta da

A HUGE thank you for the code Scarfaddict, amazingly it worked, so 50 pounds saved. I owe you a glass of something sparkly when we finally get to see each other Smile

notyummy · 22/02/2012 12:09

Oooh - lovely! And a discount too. Fingers crossed that it suits. Will it be the MU dress....?

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 12:38

Oh that's GORGEOUS Ollie, fingers crossed it's the one!

NY I had no idea there was a Marni kids collection Is there a link?

blossoming · 22/02/2012 12:43

Oh my goodness ollie, that is just perfect. I love it when a train of thought comes together like that. Truly lightbulb. Well done on the code scarfi.
Has tipped down with rain here all day. Brought my soup in in a flask. Was still lovely and hot! Was obliged to have a delicious date flapjack for some charity earlier. Really delicious, but not too worried now I can adjust the rest of my intake accordingly. Still obsessed with mfp as you can tell!

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 12:50

Hello, I'm having trouble keeping up with you all!

As I'm just screen window shopping for clothes at the moment, and storing ideas of what nice clothes to buy when I lose a lot of weight, I will probably just mostly lurk on this thread and post now and then, if that's OK!

I'm going to put aside some money for every half stone and full stone I lose, and buy some new things as I go along. I currently have my eye on is Verity's TS blazer - that is lovely! I might buy that as a treat after I lose 1.5 stone. Do you think it will suit big boobs and an apple shape?

Ollie - that dress is gorgeous

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 12:51

Wanted to say that I am still thinking about that Whistles blazer I linked to the other week - but in black, not breton. I might buy the TS as a cheaper stand-in until I've got nearer my goal size and can justify a splurge.

notyummy · 22/02/2012 13:00

verity - I found this on Shopstyle, but I read the story in the Telegraph Saturday mag. I think they have had a collection before but are about to broaden it.

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/02/2012 13:11

Oh Ollie - I love love love that dress! Now what shoes to wear and its calling out for a hermes cape cod isn't it Wink

blossoming · 22/02/2012 13:12

That sounds like a great idea sanuk. How are you losing the weight?

Russianred · 22/02/2012 13:14

Hi all, we're back home, hurrah! It's been horrible seeing DD so unwell - exactly as you describe Verity, her sats were dropping a lot the first night we were in and it was awful. She seems brighter today, but is still needing her inhaler every 2-3 hours; incidentally, does anyone have tips for getting them to take it? At the moment I'm having to swaddle her to get her to take it and it's really distressing for her, but the only way I can get it in. DS is all out of sorts and was crying for me at pre-school yesterday (very unlike him). Thank you so much to all of you for your lovely words and thoughts. Pickled you really are very wise. Mwah for you all.

Scarf your new bag is lovely and what great news on the new baby to the family.

Ollie your new-to-be dress really is perfect. Beautiful.

I really, really love the PS1 Hopefully. If I'd had the will to save, I would have added to my Mulberry fund and got one. Sounds like a lovely shopping day.

Amber your contributions to the other thread made me really laugh - your indignance and outrage was excellent.

Hope the first visit went well today Blue. I was in yoga trousers too post-DD. Post DS I was a disaster. Hadn't prepared at all and ended up in DH's boxers and shirts for quite a few days.

My cobalt 811s arrived in my absence - they look great, but am yet to try them on. Am going to go and catch up on some sleep now - DD is completely wiped out, having been woken plenty during the night.

And I know I should keep these thoughts to myself, but the Donna Ida link to the Paris MiH really made me laugh - it looks like they're getting ready to let rip.

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 13:38

Red I assume they gave you one of those gadgets to put the inhaler in with a mask for dd's face? I think ours was a babyhaler. We would do one puff and count to ten, then repeat. That's how ds learned to count. I appreciate that he was a bit older though. Could you sing a nursery rhyme, so that she knew that by the end of TwinkleTwinkle or whatever it would be over? It's very difficult at the beginning but she will get used to it. Poor baby Sad. Asthma meds are very good now though. Ds is very sporty, swims, rugby, basketball and the asthma doesn't hinder him.

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 13:41

Sanuk great idea - good to have an incentive/reward system in place! I looked at the Whistles blazer, but actually preferred the TS, it's a bit sleeker I think. No buttons and a good shape. It comes in a few other colours, I might get the white next!

Hopefully · 22/02/2012 13:42

Red so glad you are both home and DD is improving. My DS1 gets unsettled of Ds2 even has a cold, so your DS must have found it v hard with you being away. Hopefully you can all settle back into normal life now.

Ollie hurrah! That dress looks beautiful, really hope the fit is perfect for you. It looks wonderful quality.

Bloss I am becoming a MFP addict/bore. I keep sharing how many calories I have left for the day. It's definitely helping keep me on the straight (ish) and narrow (ish). Am quite blue at the prospect of a night off exercise tonight - I tried to work through cramp last night and have pulled my hamstring very slightly, so need to give it a rest. Just been for a good brisk walk though.

You are all destroying my plans to hate the PS1 and balenciaga! I foresee major saving efforts coming up.

More new underwear arrived today. I now have a whopping two properly fitting bras.

Sanuk · 22/02/2012 13:48

Verity - thanks for info. No buttons is a good thing IMO. My norks are 1 dress size larger than the rest of me, and I'd prefer a tighter fitting blazer, but then I don't want to be at risk of popping a button in public.

blossoming - I'm doing WW online. It is I feel the best plan for me. I lost 1.5 stone on WW about 10 years ago, albeit reasonably slowly. The key ingredients this time round for me are the iphone app and the MN thread. I have only been doing it for 1.5 weeks though - lost 5lbs in my first week, and my next weigh is on Sat. In all likelihood I'll be doing it until the end of the year so I need a plan that's sustainable.

I can't exercise much at the moment as I'm going to have an op on a ruptured ligament in my knee in the next few months.

Red - so sorry to hear that you're DD has been in hospital but glad she's out. Must be very worrying for you Sad

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 13:49

Hopefully if you have a chance to link to a good fabric shop, I'd be so grateful Thanks

Thanks Ny I'll have a good look after the school run. Not while dd's watching though, don't want to be giving her ideas Wink

VerityBrulee · 22/02/2012 13:57

I just squealed when I clicked on this-almost enough to make me have another baby Liberty print bugaboo Grin
