I was thinking it would go with grey skinnies, grey shorts, mid blue jeans and ?pink jeans Ollie.

loobylu3 · 18/02/2012 22:26

Evening everyone. Have had a lovely but busy half term with the DC. I think they have had a good time. Had a v productive tidy up of the playroom and various fun trips, all helped by the fact that I only worked one day this week!

I have to admit to being on the apuski end of the scale with weight gain/ loss. I have been too skinny a couple of times in my life (once at Uni when decided to replicate some of my friend's eating habits one once post DD1 with general exhaustion and BF). I felt awful and now eat lots to keep my weight stable. I also think that I look more attractive with a bit more flesh on me!
You are so right about friendships taking time and alcohol, apuski. I think it really helps you to become close to people if you go through hard times together and can offers support.
I have lovely friends from Uni and working life but none of them locally so v hard to meet up regularly especially as a lot of them have families themselves now. I have some friends here but couldn't call them close friends as I just don't see enough of them and when I do the DC are always there! I have never been a toddler group kind of person and am perhaps not the sociable of people in the sense that I prefer one to one close friendships not spreading myself thin so I suppose these things don't help.

blue- congratulations again and what a pretty name! Newborn cuddles cannot be replicated so lovely that you are having plenty!

Sorry to hear that you have been unwell scarfi and that I wasn't on here the other day with a bit of advice. :) It sounds as if you had a gastroenteritis combined with a probable infection (causing the pains). Hope you are feeling much better now, although never easy with a poorly DH and two little DC!

MIM- you have had a really bad time of it with this pregnancy. I think you are doing all the right things already! All I can suggest is a v nutritious diet, supplements and as much rest as you can get (be v strict with yourself about this when DS at nursery). It does seem that some pregnant women have their immunity really messed up. I hope that you will be back to your healthy self afterwards.
By the way, thank you for the Spatone suggestion. I think it is helping my energy levels.
Lovely MD blouse! I love so much of their stuff (particularly tops) but am resisting at present.

Hopefully- lovely dresses. I also prefer the Me&Em on you but both good. I really want the M&E now myself! Is that idiotic in pregnancy or is it v stretchy? I can't see me wearing it for some time afterwards as will be BF (hopefully) and v little social life with LO especially.
I have instead bought some maternity leggings and a top from Boden (so fashion forward here), oh and a maternity swimming costume, thinking of my holiday and the huge bump I will have ! :)

Had success with DD1's coloured jeans here. Will have to do bright coloured jeans through her at present. They are great in case anyone with school aged DD's like them.

bretonbee · 19/02/2012 09:06

ants yes I bought that Lily&Lionel scarf last week. I love it but I wear a lot of navy and grey and goes well with both.

MIM really like that MD top, may have to pop in later and have a look at their new stuff.

Popped into Mulberry yesterday with DP who wanted to look at a holdall Hmm and am now massively coveting this Alexa

Love baby name blue so pretty.

DS now decorating table with a milk and water concotion, apparently it is a dolphin so must go rescue house and get ready for swimming :)

MarshaBrady · 19/02/2012 09:44

Blue gorgeous name, so so lovely.

Hopefully love the the dress you chose, really looks good on you.

Thanks Pickled I am here, just been working a bit.

I am in that last bit of time before I can get back to what I dearly love and want to be doing. i just have to do this project and then I am there! So close. I just hope I can get back in the flow of it.

For friends I feel really lucky to be surrounded by happy, interesting people mostly from ds1's school. And lots of them (time alone is what I crave, soon!). Although new school too which will be good.

Nice to have a few old friends although they live far. And then new people all the time, including from this thread of course!

Really excited about a soon to be better social life, thanks to dh and a club thing. A big reason to find another person for ds2 to be with, so we can actually go out together and have some fun.

waves to everyone else Smile

MarshaBrady · 19/02/2012 10:07

And like Dauphin I am on the hunt for a lovely villa in South of France or Italy in a town next to a beach.

The 5* resort thing we did felt hilarious in parts, and suited the children but not for us. We need more space, walking and eating at local restaurants.

AmberNectarine · 19/02/2012 10:12

Great name blue, glad you are enjoying your newborn snuggle time!

ollie that is so great for your DSs, I would love my DCs to be bilingual, but though both DH and I speak more than one language i doubt we're committed enough. From what I remember your mouth should start to feel better today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

bloss am Grin at your DS. My DB was a terror for things like that. My DM would despair of him, and that was when he was 15 and really should have known better! Lovely that you have a hobby in common with DH, sadly mine is about as interested in fashion and knitting as I am in cricket and the pop charts.

mim did you break a mirror of something? Sending you (and ants and scarf) lots of get well vibes! Glad your DH is being a rock. Lovely MD top.

Emo I really like those shoes, think I will buy.

have a nice day lined up here, lunch in Richmond with friends. Might send DH to let DS loose on the green while DD and I have a little browse! Wink

scarfaholic · 19/02/2012 10:28

Thanks Looby, I am starting to feel better today. I bought DD1 those jeans too, I might get her another colour while they are on sale. Poor DH is still in bits and refuses to take any medication until he has to go to work tomorrow. I think you should get the Me and Em dress, I don't get out at night much so will be wearing it hanging around the playground!

Blue, lovely name.

Bloss, yes, I'm going to be very careful buying from LK Bennett in the future. I hope the damn dress sells, no bids yet.

Mim, lovely top, I think I prefer it to the Raoul top so may copy you and buy it too.

I saw that bag, Breton, it is lovely. I was very tempted but went with the tan in the end.

Amber, enjoy lunch, I love Richmond, I go there a couple of times a week.

notyummy · 19/02/2012 11:03

Hi all.

I am also sending good vibes to the poorly people- MIM, Ollie, Scarf and Ants at last count.

I think Daupin mentioned my name in connection with holiday ideas. Although we have been to Italy a number of times, we have always stayed in small holiday sites within walking distance of a local town, so not villas as such like you and Marsha may be looking for. Chalets- the cheaper option. We always try and find a place that we can walk in to a number of eateries etc, but we do like to stay somewhere where there will be a number of other children as well for dd to make friends/play with. As an only it is quite important I think- and she's a social little thing. I absolutely love Salo on Lake Garda. Really chic. Lovely shops and restaurants and not overrun by tourists as some of the lakes are. LTEC and I both stayed near Castello Carducci in Tuscany, which is a beautiful medieval hilltop town, again not touristy and plenty of eating options. 5 mins to beach in a car, 10 mins by bike.

Meant to say- I also love the name Estella. Beautiful (as I am sure she is!)

Suddenly realised I probably need a new bikini for the Oz/Singapore trip. Eek! Any recommendations? Probably not more than £60/70. I like padding- in the cups that is (!!) Halter neck good. Can wear tops without much support but font like really teeny bottoms.

MarshaBrady · 19/02/2012 11:50

Thanks NY, not sure about where for a bikini, I am going to start looking too.

MIM hope you are feeling better. Scarfi, Ants and Ollie too.

Amber have a great day.

Scarfi how annoying about the dress, so irritating that sort of thing.

AntPants1 · 19/02/2012 12:31

Blast just lost my post....

Thanks for all the get well vibes. Have temp and am feeling very washed out. DH beng surprisingly nice about it given he has to do childcare....

DH has also announced that he would like to join my gym. AT LAST. It's only taken him 5plus years!!! Thing is DH is very stubborn and has to come to these decisions himself. But it would mean he could do some of the swimming/ tennis/ crèche etc!!!

NY great haul.

I need to loose weight. About 2 stone I think for my clothes look better. No point until I have finished mad period at work but am thinking of taking 3 weeks off in April so could really hit the gym/ jillian!! Have down loaded MFP on I phone. NY and bloss I am in awe of your will power. Am so tired with work at the moment I am just looking at sugar rushes to keep going.

MIM I love that MD top and keep looking at it. I think I prefer it to Boden limited top I got last week so may swap www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Limited-Edition/Tops-T-shirts/BA022/Womens-Silk-Blossom-Top.html

Fleecy · 19/02/2012 14:03

ny I remember esher (I think?) linking here for discounted Heidi Klein etc.

I've never shopped there (wear bikinis so rarely that H&M's finest does the job for me Grin) but have heard good things...

Emo76 · 19/02/2012 14:53

just popping in to say that red Reiss have what I think is "your" white and navy dress from last summer back in stock on sale here and I have ordered it to try!

Also they have the Freya short sleeved lace tops back in the sale too, I have worn my Minna tops from last year to death so ordered one in black.

Transmission ends!

Hopefully · 19/02/2012 15:07

NY afraid I can't help on the bikini hunt - I try to avoid scaring small children so I rarely don such skimpy garments. Although maybe once I've shredded my body into submission...

Had an absolutely lovely time with my friend yesterday, generally chatting through plans and working out what to do with work/self employment/relocating etc. Sometimes just explaining the whole situation to someone else helps you figure out what you need/want to do, doesn't it? Also really enjoyed make up session at HoC, was really impressed with the quality of the skincare products, lots of good ingredients and no parabens. The make up wasn't universally perfect, but there are some really good bits.

OllieinOrange · 19/02/2012 15:14

Back from a lovely afternoon outing - we all went to a small museum (huge panoramic painting in a circular room) and then wandered into the city for hot chocolate. I choose the route which passed by Massimo Dutti Wink and DH finally accepted he needed new jeans and brought some. Had a real phoaar swoon moment when he stepped out of the changing room - they look great on him.

Saw your top MiM - am very tempted to try in the week, along with the blue stripey top here and these shoes are lovely too here

The Karen Millen had that dress I linked to a while back was in their window. Its v lovely - more of a blackcurrent colour than purple. Shame the satin material limits when you could wear it tho - would be great in jersey. KM dress

I wasn't going to mention my mouth/teeth again but I have the most amazing bruise on the side of my chin - nowhere near the site of the procedure but v impressive! Wore my chunky grey rollnecked poncho over my navy peacot to bury my chin into!

Emo I can really see you in that dress.
Ants think you are so sensible by recognising that its not the right time to expect to loose weight at the moment. I think some time off to kick start things is a great idea. Pop over here for a few days - you could go for a run along the canals and I could be on my bike with a megaphone shouting encouragement?!

Hope you are all having nice Sundays.

MidnightinMoscow · 19/02/2012 16:04

Thanks for all the get well wishes. Still in bed, DH still flying solo with DS too. Thank goodness he is in nursery for the next two days as well.

Oh, I love it when I link to something that everyone really likes. Grin. It reminded me of the long sleeved one from Warehouse that emo has that I missed out on at the time, ages ago now.

Sorry, I am on the phone so hard to scroll back to others posts so please don't think I am ignoring everyone.

Funny how your body craves what it needs though? I have eaten so much fruit in the last 24 hours. DH bought what would be a delicious curry from M&S last night, but I couldn't look at it. But managed to eat 2 apples and a packet of grapes!!

Right off to have a bath and really beat you all in W&A outfit stakes, primani pj's!!

MidnightinMoscow · 19/02/2012 16:07

Oh ollie, I was chuckling to myself last night thinking of that list I so confidently produced in relation to how I would wear the navy MD blouse.

Needless to say I don't have any of them in my wardrobe and would need to purchase!!

Hopefully · 19/02/2012 16:23

MIM I am Grin at you needing to purchase all the items you merrily listed to make outfits. Exactly the kind of thing I would do.

I am loving MFP, so Thanks to everyone who recommended it. I love that the database is so huge - I have yet to eat something where I can't find a v close match for it. It is also making me face up to where I'm sneaking in extra calories and why my weight loss has well and truly ground to a halt over the past 3 weeks. I am back on the wagon and have a session of BFBM planned tonight to make up for curry last night.

blossoming · 19/02/2012 16:50

Doesn't 't it all add up hopefully? I have forced myself to go back over the last few days and list everything. Even the gravy. It is no wonder I am not losing weight. Luckily, DH gave me an hour this afternoon because I did the early shift (which I don't mind as I get on with some work, but he loves his lie in), and went cycling so I am left with 180 calories for today! Which will be raspberries, plain yoghurt, and a small banana.

Hopefully · 19/02/2012 17:56

Bloss it is quite scary. I have, ahem, 24 calories left for the day. And I haven't had dinner yet. Clearly I will be going over my 1200, but am hoping that BFBM this evening will claw me back a few calories.

MidnightinMoscow · 19/02/2012 18:39

Right, I have just downloaded it too, and done some guesstimating of my post birth weight. It's a great APP isan't it.
Not eating much at the moment so feeling virtuous, but thinking of all the little things I eat normally, well I can so see why it adds up.

Russianred · 19/02/2012 18:44

Evening all! Am so sorry to hear about all the abounding poorliness - hope everyone has been able to rest a little today. MiM can only agree with Ollie that you deserve the easiest of labours/newborn. Wish I had some amazing immunity boosting remedy I could send to you! Lovely blouse btw.

Great to hear that your sister is out of the woods Ants - when is her baby due?

That is the dress Emo! It's lovely.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous name Blue. You sound completely in love! Look forward to hearing all about her. Stay in those PJs!

Your mountain biking tales are brilliant Bloss - how great to have found something that you all enjoy so much. How funny re. DS' pants situation - agree with Pickled that something's got to give!

Have had the most wonderful weekend- friend collected me on Friday and we had wine and chocolate whilst being regaled with stories of my friend's bordering on stalker ex (disturbingly hilarious - in an attempt to win her back after sleeping with someone else, he wrote to David Cameron in the hope that he would have some sway. Seriously. Obvs. she didn't hear back, but I have never laughed so hard in all my life). Headed to a spa on Saturday for pool lounging, treatment and a lunch and then into Cheltenham for shopping, dinner and a film (The Vow - a bit chick-flicky and perfect for us). It was so lovely to not worry about getting home for a certain time and be able to cram so much in. Feel revitalised.

Glad you had a lovely weekend too Hopefully.

NY great selection of dresses there.

Amber hope your and DH's weekend was less grump-infused.

Big wave to everyone else.

pickledsiblings · 19/02/2012 18:47

MiM, laughing my head of at your virtual outfits, I so thought they were real and was Envy of your grey shorts and pink jeans Smile.

Marsha, do tell about the club thing that you and DH are getting into.

Ollie, I can't believe you have a Massimo Dutti near you. I spent ages perusing the website last night after Emo's link. Did you see the dragonfly scarf?

pickledsiblings · 19/02/2012 18:49

Red, long may the feeling of being revitalised last Smile.

MarshaBrady · 19/02/2012 18:50

Pickled we are really excited. It's one of those ones in the middle of London. You know one that I really wanted when I was trying to find a place for the first MU, but failed Grin

We found out the other day, will check it out and report back. Possible venue for future!

MidnightinMoscow · 19/02/2012 19:21

Sounds exciting marsha.

Red what an amazing sounding weekend, your batteries must be well and truly re-charged, good for you.

Pickled that is me all over! I live in a fantasy world half the time. Although obviously I could tell you exactly where I'd purchase such things from though!!

DH did the supermarket run earlier and asked me if I wanted a magazine. (Remember the Denise Welch overdose I had in hospital). I gave him the usual selection to choose, eg Grazia, Red etc. I emphasised the need for girly reading.

He came home with Private Eye!! Although he thought it was hilarious given that in men's magazine's 'Girly reading' amounts to something quite different.
