Hopefully · 16/02/2012 17:32

Houston, we have a problem. All the dresses are lovely! Will try on again with proper underwear as soon as the DSs are down and upload some pics.

OllieinOrange · 16/02/2012 17:33

Hopefully Houston is gonna need to see some photos Smile

blossoming · 16/02/2012 17:47

You sound much better ollie! Glad things went okay.
I agree we need photos hopefully!
So exciting mim!
red, I ordered the black seam back tee. Hasn't arrived yet though. I like the look of the breton too which I think you've got. What are you wearing to MU?
I keep looking at 'my' balenciaga on the Matches site. Only 8 months to go!

IceCreamCastles · 16/02/2012 18:26

Glad you made it and are feeling ok ollie. I was prepared not to like the jacket from description but actually think it looks quite nice and would suit you. Dress is pretty too.

Love that sequin skirt fritzi.

Excited about seein photos hopefully- great that you like them all.

Sounds v promising MiM. Very excited for you although resisting the urge to stamp my foot and shout 'but it's my turn next' Wink.

I'm blonde! Very pleased with it and with cut too- had a few layers put in so have been swishing all day. Dd said I looked very beautiful so that's good enough for me.

MidnightinMoscow · 16/02/2012 18:34

Yeh for being blond again Icey - great isan't it?

Hopefully, yes we will need pictures please!

pickledsiblings · 16/02/2012 18:36

Ollie i agree with Icey that the DP jacket would suit you, can see you in it.

Icey, glad you like your swishy blonde locks.

Hopefully, lucky you with the dresses. I had similar luck recently with a Zara order and I was beyond delighted. Looking forward to photos.

Fritzi, glad you and DH had a nice date Smile.

AmberNectarine · 16/02/2012 18:40

Ooh hopefully I'm excited for you! Think I need one of those Ce Me dresses. Wardrobe lacking in sexy dresses, though have my beady eye on a Marant.

Have small Gap and Cos haul, will link later. Whistles green jumper so gorgeous but added about a stone on my arse due to mullet hem. Bad times. Over it now.

MidnightinMoscow · 16/02/2012 18:46

Meant to say thank you for the Houlihan link Amber, although my other ones are a 29.

Boden dress going back, measured from behind and its quite bum skimming, so I'll never wear it. Wise, wise, wise.

MarshaBrady · 16/02/2012 18:50

Icey blonde locks, wonderful. Can't wait to get mine done.

Ollie glad you made it and it's done. Lovely links again from everyone, too wiped out by a day of travel to look properly yet.

My outfit bordered on spring-like today. Dusky rose acne chinos, white shirt and apricot-y APC jumper. Very pastel! With green stella and APC boots. Felt as if I were ready to go show jumping too (well in a Betty Draper way).

scarfaholic · 16/02/2012 19:59

Blue, congratulations!

Good luck, Mim.

Thanks Portia and Fleecy.

Great you had a good evening, Red. I had some good friends in the US, had to start all over again here, I have a couple of good friends that I am sure we will keep in touch with when we leave but I'm still really close to my friends in Dublin and no one can top them, really. Like you Ollie, I sometimes arrange nights out here but I am sure they can take or leave them and I am not that bothered anymore.

Glad you like the dresses, Hopefully, mine still hasn't arrived.

Thanks Fritzi, I'll check it out.

Has anyone else tried to use the HAPPY30 Banana Rep code? I can't get it to apply the discount and I want to order a present for a friend.

I still feel awful and can't eat. I'd better have lost weight. GRRR.

Russianred · 16/02/2012 20:13

Have just returned from assisting our friends with their 5 year old's birthday party. 16 boys and I have the most profound of headaches! I am in my striped Whistles dress - very similar to one they have in but with patch pockets and thinner jersey, black opaques, grey Jalouse, red Whistles belt and chunky grey Zara cardi. Have not worn the combo before and liked v much.

Marsha your outfit sounds glorious today - lovely mix of colours.

Look forward to seeing the pics Hopefully.

Glad to hear you're feeling ok Ollie, agree that the jacket is v you.

Bloss undecided on outfit, but leaning towards Whistles lace, as it has only had two outings and is too beautiful to reside in a cupboard. Would most prob wear with Roxy, but perhaps you should have first dibs?! And you? The Breton is gorgeous, have worn an awful lot - sized up in it as preferred it a little slouchy.

I'm so sorry you're still feeling so unwell scarf.

How was roller skating pickled? Agree you are an exceptionally fun mum.

Annoying about the green jumper Amber. The phrase mullet hem gives bad vibes from the off really, doesn't it?!

Russianred · 16/02/2012 20:14

And glad you're happy with the new blonde look Icey - your comment to Mim made me smile - the lady who was due last in our NCT group ended up giving birth at 36 weeks and cutting ahead of everyone else. I was a little bit livid at the time!

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 16/02/2012 20:22

Am torturing myself watching A Very Hungry Frenchman - havent eaten all day.

Scarf sounds like a bug has really got a hold of you. Hope you feel better tomorrow - and have a nice flat stomach!

Bloss. How did the playdate go?

scarfaholic · 16/02/2012 20:27

DH has it now too ... worse than me, of course! Hope you are feeling ok, Ollie.

scarfaholic · 16/02/2012 20:37

Bloss, I forgot to reply to your question. I haven't taken the Kindle out of the box yet Blush but I am reading The Peculiar Sadness of Lemon Cake, which is really good.

scarfaholic · 16/02/2012 20:38

Oh and my dad offered to buy me one of the new iPads in March, I felt bad as he is too generous and said not to. Now I am kicking myself!

OllieinOrange · 16/02/2012 20:44

Icey meant to say, glad you love your hair. Are you going to change your name to IceBlonde now????

scarfi love my Kindle. I especially love downloading sample chapters. I really enjoyed Lemon Cake too, thinking of choosing it for my next Book Lub choice. I had to read the 'big thing' that happens in the middle of the book twice as my mind couldnt process it. Brilliant.

AmberNectarine · 16/02/2012 20:48

So links, bought:

this jumper which I already have and love in the grey.

these lilac jeans

this cos Breton and a neon T shirt which isn't online.

DH out so will be dealing with slurred proclamations of undying love at 1am. Happy days. Am eating V day Lindt and drinking pink champagne instead of dinner.

red love the sound of your outfit, I love those Whistles dresses but so not bf friendly.

blossoming · 16/02/2012 20:57

red, I'm sure we can both, or could all wear Roxy! Who's going to care? Just like two people wearing jeans. I haven't decided yet but I'm veering towards an EA look. I am 'liking' her on Facebook from today.

DH is back and regaling me with stories from his night out with an Irish academic. He wishes he'd gone to bed earlier. I told him i'd do anything for an intellectual conversation.
Play date went better than expected. They were here for 3 hours. Played outside for 1 hr 45 mins, ate for 45 mins and caused havoc for 30 mins. Then their mother came and accepted a cup of tea and were here for a further 45 mins. DH said, you're very pale.

Russianred · 16/02/2012 21:49

I was hoping you'd say that Bloss, but didn't want to assume! I too would love an intellectual conversation. Perhaps we should set some topics for debate at MU Wink.

Most definitely not a BF friendly dress Amber - I think I bought that one the week after I finished feeding DD in celebration. Lovely haul today - that Breton is very good value.

I loved 'Lemon Cake' - my book clubs are reading 'One Day' and 'The Help' respectively; have read both so have no reading to 'do'. Could do with some more reccs actually. Thinking of 'Call the Midwife' - any other ideas?

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 16/02/2012 21:57

Ooh, I like the idea of an end of bf celebration purchase! Something really fitted or strapless!

Want to buy the Whistles polka dot jumper and the seam back T but waiting for Grazia code.

All this talk of meet up wear is exciting. Where's Hopefully with her dress photos?

Hopefully · 16/02/2012 22:12

Amber great haul! Love the stripy jumper.

Marsha your outfit sounds gorgeous. I should have gone more spring-like today, it was really mild. Enjoyed wearing my Aldo ankle boots for the 300th time though.

Scarf just think of the weight loss. Hope you feel better soon.

Bloss well done on surviving playmate Smile

Ollie hope you're not feeling too sore.

Have tried on dresses again. No photos uploaded yet as DH is working on the mac, so am relegated to the iPad. The bastard Grin. I've narrowed it down to the Me and Em dress and the Ce Me Larissa. The other purple Ce Me and the taupe Ce Me were both lovely, but not as flattering as those two. I think basically it will come down to trying them on in daylight and deciding which is the best colour on me. Thoughts so far:

  • really nice quality heavy jersey on both dresses. Not a lot to choose between them fabric wise
  • I went for the 8-10 on the Me and Em and although it is a tiny fraction on the small side, a 12-14 would have been way too big I think. Fwiw I am in NO WAY an 8. A large 10, at absolute best. And sine I'm hoping to shrink more that seemed sensible. The Ce Me is a 10 and only a tiny fraction bigger than the Me and Em.
-omg the me and em dress is like a pair of fat pants. V flattering. And easier to dress up or down than the Ce Me I think
  • the Ce Me is a more interesting colour, and probably a better colour on me - the Me and Em is very dark navy,so far from my best colour, but not one that completely wipes me out.
  • they are basically both lovely. If I had the spare cash, I would keep both. If I make any surprise sales in the next 24 hours, I may yet keep both.

DH and I Shredded this evening, then promptly gave into the temptation of leftover pancakes (we had savoury ones for dinner with stir fry) and did flambé orange liqueur ones with creme fraiche on top. Oh well.

Hopefully · 16/02/2012 22:13

Oh, and both dresses definitely potential MU ones!
