Inspired, eh?!

Sorry distracted then as dh rang from Eire...I told him a very romantic story about our Neice who'd got engaged last night, on her birthday...he sniffed, and I stated that ALL women need romance. This is the man who considered our friend to be too showy because he bought the engagement ring from Tiffany.......noooooooo! Anyway, well done on AH bag, result! It's lovely....

blossoming · 15/02/2012 20:17

How stressful mrscb. I find half term hard. DS asked if he could have the twins to play last week (he goes to their house before and after school as their mum is the childminder). So they are coming tomorrow. DS is crying as has changed his mind. I have told him that you cannot disinvite people. He is remembering his birthday when he ended up crying. I am dreading it too.

Fabulous links today ladies. Saw some lovely Issa dresses on MyW last night. Not for my shape, or indeed colouring, but worth a look for springs?
here.

amber, I love toast too. Might have some now. With marmite.

scarfaholic · 15/02/2012 20:19

We paid £45 per morning (9-12) last year for DD1 and there were loads of bank holidays, annoyingly as Monday was one of her mornings.

I like the list, Sanuk.

MrsCB, yikes! Whistles have a white broderie anglaise top, I saw it in their preview. It's on my list. I tried on this Raoul top and still thinking of buying but fear it is too loose/maternity-ish.

Dauphin · 15/02/2012 20:22

Oh Bloss how I hate play dates.... poor DS! My DS changes his mind usually during the course of the play date.....so embarrassing...

I also loathe the mother who cheerily initiates any such event..if you don't have DCs at school yet, be warned...

Dauphin · 15/02/2012 20:25

Love that top too, scarfi ...nah, not maternity, at all.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/02/2012 20:25

Amber - how funny we're both obsessing over it. Seems to still be available here - not that I've spent the last half an hour obsessively googling.

Scarf - no to anything too lose - it'll be that vanessa bruno top all over again Wink

Bloss - am quite glad to hear that about your DS to be honest as my DS does that too and it drives me mad and then he always ends up having a great time.

What I really need is a nanny I've decided Grin just so I could get to spend more individual time with each child and also go for a run/do some exercise each day. But as that's not going to happen - am waiting for lighter mornings when I can go for a run at 6am.

scarfaholic · 15/02/2012 20:33

DH agrees after having the girls on his own last weekend that we need a nanny. Sadly it is not in budget!

There are two friends of DD1's that I desperately try to avoid having over, they are so destructive and won't leave the baby alone so I have to carry her everywhere for her own protection while they are here. I don't tell their mothers, of course. Hope the twins behave tomorrow, Bloss.

Sanuk · 15/02/2012 20:38

Just checked the Whistles website and adore this blazer

I love Breton-like stripes, but am too big busted for them Sad

Dauphin · 15/02/2012 20:44

Yes, a nanny would be great just to do the do...and I'd get to spend quality time with each of my DCs (sighs)....I did that tonight when putting them to bed, and it was really special...never mind...I am one of three and never felt like I missed out.

sanuk like that blazer too. Are you sure its a no?

blossoming · 15/02/2012 20:53

We have agreed to hide the teddies! He has loads of photos of dc2 up too. Hopefully they'll play table football in the garage for a while, then football, rugby... I am making sausage & chips for lunch. First time they came it was : I want more juice/milk; I want something to eat; I want the toilet; I don't know how to flush..
Glad to hear I'm not alone!

blossoming · 15/02/2012 20:56

Oh scarfi, what are you reading on your new kindle?

Fleecy · 15/02/2012 21:04

I miss our nanny sometimes - she did 2 days for us and when work was quiet, DH and I used to go out for long lunches or I would shop Blush

sanuk I am also working hard to lose weight.

Thank you to all of you who posted diet and exercise advice after Toblerone-gate last week. My head is in a much better place now and whilst I am still beating myself up a lot, I am at least taking action. Have taken your advice on board and ordered the Ian Marber book, started regular Shredding interspersed with gym classes, started eating more in the day and less during the evenings etc. Lost two pounds over the course of the week Smile

I am so excited for you ollie - what a wonderful surprise. I think the watch would be perfect.

scarf I hope you enjoyed your birthday and am sorry that you have had a tough time of late. Glad you finally got the Alexa though.

Loved hearing your Valentine's stories, such a range from those who do nothing to those who really celebrate in style.

Sanuk · 15/02/2012 21:04

Dauphin - I have found that blazer in stone and - ooh, hello - black

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/02/2012 21:07

Sanuk - stripes do nothing for me either. I love them but wore them too much when pregnant and bf so they sort of have that association for me. And although happy times - to be fair I looked like a weeble so its not a look I'm keen to replicate now.

Well done Fleecy!

Sanuk · 15/02/2012 21:12

MrsCB - ha, the only time I've worn a thick-striped top in the last 8 years was during pregnancy Grin

I keep meaning to buy DD a breton PetitBataeu dress so that I can wear Breton vicariously

AmberNectarine · 15/02/2012 21:13

Love stripes, but that jacket would be a one way ticket to frumpsville on me. I really struggle with jackets and cardigans. Has so be something edgy like leather or I just can't get away with it. Often surprised to hear women wish for bigger boobs when I find them so limiting. Grass always greener I suppose.

OllieinOrange · 15/02/2012 21:15

Its my wisdom teeth op tomorrow, both on the same side. Am dreading it. DH will take and bring me home and keep me supplied with nurofen etc. Am going to shut my eyes and chant Hermes, Hermes, Hermes. Seriously.

It seems the done thing at DSs school to have playdates most days!!! Its exhausting having to deal with both of them running out of school asking if so and so can play. I try and manage it and tell them in the morning if they can have a friend over or go there but it still doesnt stop them askng and throwing mini strops at 3pm when I say no.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/02/2012 21:21

Good luck for tomorrow Ollie - mine was fine when I had all 4 out with a GA.

Sanuk - DD does have such a breton dress and looks most charming in it Smile She also has breton tops with her skinnies

Amber - I agree - am only a d cup but would never want huge boobs as too easy to look matronly especially when short.

Hopefully · 15/02/2012 21:24

Good luck Ollie, just remember to take whatever drugs you're allowed every 4 hours or whatever they tell you - I remember after giving birth forgetting to take painkillers at the appropriate time and really knowing it!

I would love a nanny, just can't justify it in any way. I would probably be able to earn enough to cover it, but being self employed I would be so stressed knowing that I had to make a certain amount in order to cover someone else's wages every month. Besides, I still wouldn't have any actual free time as I'd be working every second that the nanny was here anyway... Maybe one day.

Amber I know what you mean about boobs. Oh, to avoid the worries of sagging/looking matronly/not being able to do up shirts etc. Saying that, mine seem teeny at the moment - have been pregnant/BFing for so long that a D cup now feels positively perky!

Sanuk and MrsCB stripes also have the PG/BFing association for me. Why on earth are so many maternity clothes stripy?

Wow, my Me and Em dress has been dispatched already. Hope it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I am getting somewhat bored of my mother's disparaging looks at the arrival of clothes (why do I always time online shopping for when she visits? I swear I haven't bought anything since she was last here).

blossoming · 15/02/2012 21:27

All the best for tomorrow ollie. Impromptu play dates? My nerves wouldn't stand for it!
Well done fleecy. I'm sure you'll be back to your gorgeous slender self very soon.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/02/2012 21:28

Hopefully - tell her its books for the children - a clever trick from a founder A&W'er Wink

notyummy · 15/02/2012 21:31

Quick wave - another mad day here.

Good luck for tomorrow Ollie.

Welcome Sanuk.

Great news on the respective weight loss/shape change Fleecy and Bloss.

Good news too on the tutoring Pickled.

It is hard, but sometimes I think nursery fees may have to be looked at in the medium/long term financially. Easier said than done though.

And...finally, on an S and B note, I LOVE that stripey jacket. Which may not be surprising as being tall and having teeny boobs, I don't have the same worries about boobs. I just transfer that angst to my arse instead Grin

MarshaBrady · 15/02/2012 21:33

I know I should prefer a nanny but I don't, very odd. Probably because I see ds2 play with all the toys at the nursery every day and he loves them. Also I would find it more onerous dealing with someone. Probably a different story when I have to do the drop off .

Thanks for cheering me up a bit with tales of fees. It feels so indulgent to do it, but I'm glad others have at the 2.5 mark too.

Sanuk sounds interesting! Hopefully one day we can swap stories about these difficult industries we are in.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/02/2012 21:42

Marsha - DD goes to playgroup for 2 x 2 hours a week and adores it. She'll start the nursery class at DS' school when she's just 3 in September. Do you have any playgroups locally where youngest DS could just perhaps do mornings?

MarshaBrady · 15/02/2012 21:54

Good idea, thanks Mrscb I don't know any but can check it out.
