Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

verity I have the smallest size too. Always wanted a big watch but it always looks wrong on my wrist.

Fritzi Grin. I told dh the other day that Don Draper is how I see him when I am drunk tipsy. We laughed and laughed.

Looby great that you are content there, then you can move later when it gets less appealing.

Verity I love that you drew it on. Genius!

I love Hermès, I was checking out the site after you linked. Does anyone have a Hermès scarf?

I love the orange of the bag on there, but slightly expensive of course.

yy we are quite similar in temperament. FT jobs are very constraining to me. Plus the hot office air does nothing for my complexion Wink. But he has loads on the go. I am falling behind slightly there!

yy about dcs being together. That is an important point, ds2 asks for ds1 now days and they are very together and don't need me so much.

Lots to think about Marsha. For me, it would have to be a pros and cons list. So, the trade off for working in an office and somewhat restricted hours...what is it? The pay? The experience? Career building? It's a tricky one, and if you could get a temporary contract for 3 months then you do have a get out clause. Hope it all works out well for you.

Thanks for the feedback Hopefully, sounds like they are a bit too thick for summer.

Marsha no advice on your work dilemma here but your conversation with your parents made me smile. It reminded me of the very first time (about 9 months ago) DH was telling me he'd been offered the post in Glasgow - I was in the car, on the phone to him, with my sister sitting beside me; all she could hear was 'oh no' repeated x 10 - she thought a patient had died on the table!!! Pleased to say I'm feeling much more positive about the move now! Really like the J crew skinnies.

Fritzi my scarves should be delivered today. There's no way I'll be keeping both Wink I'm already stressing at the amount of eBaying I'll have to do to justify having just the one. I think I need to set myself a realistic monthly clothes budget.

Looby is your DH close to getting his consultant post yet? Both DH and I have been nomadic due to jobs, sometimes I wonder if we'll ever actually settle somewhere for good.

Verity hope the watch fits, can fully empathise with you on the small wrists. I very rarely wear ordinary bangles for the same reason. I was telling Blue yesterday that I copied Wendy and bought [[
www.net-a-porter.com/product/164617 this wrap bracelet]] and it's so much better on my wrist than other styles.

Zembo · 24/01/2012 12:09

link again

Hopefully · 24/01/2012 12:12

NYE since you're loitering here and obviously not working hard, I've just emailed you. Nice dress, are the shoulders not a bit pouffy for you?

Zembo I love the Chan Luu bracelets, they're really nice Envy

Marsha there is no way I could go and work anything like FT in an office again (unless our financial circumstances seriously changed and I had no choice). I'm actually having a bit of a brain storm at the moment, as I'd quite like to start doing something else (self employed), but not really sure what. I need a five year plan!

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2012 12:27

oh god that is brilliant Annie. Best way. If I do work I better get a desk without overlookers so I can see what's going on here during the day. Grin Maybe that should be on my list Wink

Hopefully and NYE's interactions are making me lol. Grin

MIM not sure there is a good pay off for me. Oh I know the only one is actually getting childcare because it won't be adhoc anymore. But actually I prefer to wing it and do the work after hours. So no not really. Career-wise, I am missing a chunk of experience that would let me be a proper consultant. But then it could grind me down and make me lose all my ideas.

I said no originally, then two weeks of Christmas holidays at home and I emailed and said yes to interview. Which pretty much sums me up! I love term time at home.

Aw Zembo at your car call, must be so hard in the nomadic stages, but will be worth it when the really good position comes up.

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2012 12:27

Glad you are feeling more positive about it too of course. Lovely bracelet.

VerityBrulee · 24/01/2012 12:32

ahh, Don Draper, how I miss him, new episodes in March Smile

Zembo I am exactly the same with bracelets, I can still fit into my Christening one! I like the wrap one, and this Monica Vinader one fits well, good colours too.

Annie good to hear dh has other work opportunities, must be a relief.

Marsha I agree with Annie, being around creative people is infectious and inspiring. If you can get the childcare right and a bit of flexibility you could love it.

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2012 12:53

Yes you're right, there are some good people there I just haven't worked with them yet (only my contact). I do wish the office was nicer though. Dh works in a beautiful, light, sunny, open studio. When I go there I want to stay and not come home. It's a big thing for me, nice environment.

I have asked for confirmation on number of days (and salary, I need to work it all out if I get a nanny).

MidnightinMoscow · 24/01/2012 13:19

Agree about your peers. Even in my darkest days of my job, and as you all know there have been a few, I have been totally inspired by two of my colleagues. They make me want to be a better leader, go the extra mile etc.

Hopefully · 24/01/2012 13:24

The Marant boots are here! Have had to take DS2 out for a walk/nap, but based on the v quick first impression and try on they are just lovely. Only concern is the soles are slightly thin and leather - assume I could have rubber soles put on, but am unimpressed at the idea of doing that after spending £300+ on a pair of boots. Am off to check out New Look cheapies in town now.

Hopefully - pretty standard for £££ shoes and boots to have thin leather soles as somehow they don't seem to be designed to be worn much Hmm

Zembo - so funny have been coveting similar bracelets on Shopbop.

Hopefully · 24/01/2012 13:48

Gaah, New Look don't have the boots in yet, despite call last week to confirm they do.

Can remember not buying a pair of Emma Hope shoes once because of thin leather sole. WHY do people think that actually wearing footwear is an optional extra?

OllieinOrange · 24/01/2012 13:54

Hopefully, great outnet link thank you. Am going to order but no internet access at home all afternoon cos of cable problem grrrrr so now outside school on iPhone trying to do it. Im guessing i should size up to a 14?
