Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

Anniemac Kate Moss looks great in that Mango video! Ooh yes to a cream blazer (am on the hunt) and summery shorts with ballet flats. Really nice.

I love that Raoul top Carciofi and have had it sitting in the basket for a while but I must keep focused Wink on the above. Blazer, Lanvin flats.

blossoming · 25/01/2012 17:25

Hi all!
Have some quiet time while ds is in piano practice trying to remember what I've read on here today.
I hate the not drinking in the week thing. I've been doing it mostly since I had the dcs. Last week I didn't get beyond Tuesday though, and normally I have a glass of wine on a Thursday. Current guidelines here ollie, are to have 2 alcohol free days a week, consecutively I think. Well, I've had 3 now! Great compliment emo!
Been efficient today in my time between lessons, and have no marking or prep tonight. So just shred.
Have you tried Russell & Bromley for flats marsha? I love mine. I know we have different styles, but they may have something. Quite hard wearing. £££ though.
Back later.

carciofi · 25/01/2012 17:30

I ordered this top while I was waiting for DD1 to do ballet. Hope the colour is ok on me and I don't look like a pint of Guinness when I wear it with black velvet! I need something to go with the MIH black velvet jeans. It will be worn only when DDs are not with me!

Lanvin ballet shoes sound fab, Marsha.

I need to ebay loads, I like the Raoul tops in red and blue pattern and these twodresses. That's my summer list. :)

carciofi · 25/01/2012 17:32

I do 3 evenings a week without wine as well, Bloss. I miss it with dinner though. Sparkling water just isn't the same!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/01/2012 17:41

Had lunch at 2:30 today and will be having red wine instead of dinner Grin.

I'm so boring, I'm virtually tee total. Have a glass or two of wine once a week or so, and drink on special occasions or if we have people to stay. As a result I'm a complete lightweight (in terms of drinking, rather than my actual weight, sadly). Should be entertaining at MU! Sometimes wish I drank more simply so I had something easy to cut out when dieting.

Carciofi assuming it's a good neutral that looks like a v useful top. Raoul top also lovely though.

In all my Marant related anxiety yesterday I forgot to mention the gorgeous scarf I also got! gorgeous brown and massive, and only £24. Can see it being nice over a comfy t-shirt and riviera blue j brands for spring. Have been a vision in brown today wearing it over a basically entirely brown outfit Grin

Portia4 · 25/01/2012 18:23

Just lost my post!

Red I really like your kitchen and wish you many happy hours in it!

Carciofi that is a really nice dress, I would love it myself. When you mentioned the Swedish mum, I immediately thought of Claudia Schieffer in Live Actually!

Mim that tunic is in this months Red mag and doesn't look too short.

Emo well done on the vino, we too have had a dry January but I am being rewarded on Friday, a pal is bringing a few girlfriends out for lunch to Chapter One which is a Michelin Starred restaurant in Dublin, I am looking forward to it Smile

AntPants1 · 25/01/2012 19:03

Hi all. Am back from a lovely couple of days away in the New Forest to celebrate my DH's 40th. We worked out that it was our first child free break in almost 3.5 years!!!

We stayed here www.thepighotel.co.uk/. Can really recomend. Hotel was beautiful and the staff were lovely. Had a great couple of days eating and talking rubbish! DH and I were both really taken by the roll top bath in our room. It was so roomy we could both fit comfortably in it. We have agreed that in our next house..........seriously what a lovely end to the day a chat in the bath would be! Wore LK Bennet wilder dress and new jigsaw shoeboots.

Diet starts tomorrow!!!

ollie sorry I was not there to virtually hold your hand on the dress dilemma. Sounds like you have been wise.

red your kitchen is gorgeous oh and have everything crossed for your Jon application.

verity I love your new watch. You really deserve a treat after all you have been through.

NY, zembo and icey so pleased to here MU was a triumph and sounds like you were all so glamerous. And NY big kiss to your DD for being so brave.

marsha hope it all works out with your new role. Nothing to add to the great advise you have received.

Have been sorting stuff round the house over last week. Have oven cleaning firm coming on Friday and my builder is coming to investigate sinister looking leak on kitchen ceiling. Have ordered new sofa. Will link in a minute (anyone else with an iPad finding linking so much more difficult after recent update?). And also considering finally getting round to tiling kitchen a mere three years after it was installed...am considering fired earth ones. Will link later

Am being shouted at to get milk.....

rufus101 · 25/01/2012 19:17

Oooh Portia very Envy of Chapter One. One of my favourites.
You are all so good with the dry Januarys. I considered it for about 5 minutes, and immediately discounted it as being bad for my mental health! I am already looking forward to a glass this evening. (If DH buys some on the way home. He usually caves)
Carciofi love that blouse, you will not look like a pint of Guinness.
Red your kitchen is fabulous. So bright and airy and NEW!
I bought these lovely DVF shoes, and THEN got the email for a further 20% off. Grrr. Hate that. Still they are lovely, and I love a red shoe.
Was in the Tod's concession in the Kildare outlet at the weekend and "accidently" got a lovely pair of grey suede high heeled loafers for 100euro! And a bag for 200. Allegedly reduced from 830 and 950 respectively. I often wonder can you really believe the reduction.
Hopefully that scarf is a real steal. Re the boots, I would go for the ACNE ones. I saw someone, when I was shopping in the sales rocking wearing a pair with skinny jeans, and they looked amazing. And you would have them for years. (need to justify for that price)
Can't get with ballet flats at all. I find them so uncomfortable, and I need a heel to balance out my lower ha

rufus101 · 25/01/2012 19:17

half that is!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/01/2012 19:29

red Gorgeous, gorgeous kitchen! What is the first meal you will be cooking? Did you manage to complete deadline and application? The Boden dress will look very chic on you.

ants Sounds like you had a lovely time. The place looks fantastic!

hopefully Bargainous scarf, lovely!

rufus Love the DVF shoes.

annie Well spotted. Marsha would look great in the Moss outfits.

carciofi Like the Raoul blouse best too.

Sofa.....www.sofa.com/shop/sofas/jackson#120-BLCAUB

I hope I like it. It's a bit of a departure for me going for a bold colour...

These are the fired earth tiles...www.firedearth.com/tiles/colour/blue-purple/glacier-17409

Russianred · 25/01/2012 19:48

Ooh Carciofi that Raoul blouse is gorgeous. Really gorgeous.

Great bargains there Rufus, know what you mean about believing the discount though.

Lovely scarf Hopefully!

Ants that sounds like a lovely, lovely time away with DH. Hope you feel refreshed.

Thank you for the kitchen compliments - I really am so very, very happy about it all. Fritzi we're not cooking in it till Saturday - are getting everything set up first and the wooden worktops need another another couple of oilings. Just back from a late shop at IKEA after we realised none of our cookware was compatible with an induction hob. Oops. Also bought bar stools and lots of accessories, including an amazing, huge stainless/brushed steel bowl.

In other news, I have a job interview next Friday. I have no workwear really, so no idea what to wear for it. Also need to resolve childcare issues, but am very excited at the prospect.

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/01/2012 19:48

Kurt Geiger do some lovely versions of the acne - think called Sweep. I tried both on and there was really very little difference.

Lovely sofa Ant!

Gorgeous shoes Rufus - I too am a sucker for a red shoe

FritziGreenEyes · 25/01/2012 20:02

Love all the home improvement that is going on. After buying a new a year ago, I am determined to finish our bedroom next month. It is very bleak at the moment. Think we'll get a luxurious padded headboard, nice sidetables (not coordinated) and lamps to start with. Plans for later are chest of drawers, comfy armchair and a rug.

Although I have doubts about putting an armchair in the bedroom. Would anyone ever sit in it or will it just be a place for dumping things? Hmm...

Missed the post about your kitchen red. How gorgeous! You must be over the moon. Good luck with the job interview. You will rock it.

Lovely clothes there carciofi, and shoes rufus. I have always fancied red shoes, but yet to find 'the ones'.

Have a nice time portia. What will you wear?

Love your sofa ants, and so glad you had a good time, and that the cystitis cleared up.

Might clink glasses with you later fritzi!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/01/2012 20:08

This bag makes me feel all summery

Caricofi lovely top and dresses. I meant to say earlier that I'm not sure about the size of the J.Crew skinnies, I read the blurb and did size down but they are a bit snug. But that could be due to podge so I'm not sure!

Thanks Bloss will check out the R&B website.

Hopefully great scarf.

Ants how lovely! We are yet to have a child-free break. Actually that's a bit of thing atm I need some form of babysitting, so dh and I can actually go out together. But something that doesn't induce stress-filled hernias and crying etc. Fired Earth tiles are lovely, nice plump sofa too.

Rufus some ballet flats make me feel like I'm about to fall backwards. I hope I can find some that don't make me feel like that. Great red shoes.

Fritzi new bedroom sounds nice, yes chairs in bedrooms do tend to be magnets for worn but can be worn again clothes.

Love the new kitchen Red. How wonderful to be finished! Ah yes those 5050s I did think hmm they weren't that much, but wasn't sure. Glad you halted a dud international delivery!

Dh and I are in discussions about all the work stuff. We are both sort of being distracted by other stuff, hmmm. I feel head in the sand. But must decide at some point.

carciofi · 25/01/2012 20:10

Ants, sounds like a great break. I love Sofa.com, I even enjoyed going to their showroom!

Great shoes, Rufus.

Your kitchen looks fab, Red.

The Raoul top won't go with the black velvet jeans but I will be buying it in Feb when I plan to go on a spree. :)

Enjoy Chapter One, Portia. My brother and I are trying to persuade our father to take us there or L'Ecrivain but he grumbled about the recession and going into town at night!

FritziGreenEyes · 25/01/2012 20:13

red How formal do you have to dress for the interview?

OP posts:
carciofi · 25/01/2012 20:18

Sorry, Red, missed the bit about your interview ... go girl!

Lovely bag, Fritzi.

Thanks Marsha. I have plenty of podge of my own so won't size down. I also like R&B ballet shoes. Their website is pants, be warned. Good luck with the work decision.

Great scarf, Hopefully.
