Beauty Boxes

I'm really tempted to try ones of these. Anyone recommend Glossy Box, Boudoir Prive, Feel Unique or similar? I keep reading beauty blogs to see which is best.

Yes that's the one, cheapest but the best, shame it's not a monthly box!

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 06/02/2012 20:21

OhSad my Feel Unique box arrived . Am disappointed Sad.
Am off to the spoiler thread now cos I'm cancelling the subscription for Feel Unique and now want another one .... Any suggestions please ladies ?
Maybe Glossy Box am not too excited about the thought of Carmine since reading Chaos posts ...

Housewife2010 · 06/02/2012 21:19

For anyone interested in the Boudoir Prive box, the February box is available to order until midnight Wednesday. It's due Valentine's week. I'm still dithering over whether to get it.

Anyone wanting the next glossy box (not the one with the eyeko etc) then you can sign up from Saturday and they start sending them out on the 17th (I emailed them as I'm doing the whole 'cancel subscription the resubscribe to get discount' thing)

Stella - I'm glad you thought the latest in beauty one is good - how are you getting on with the BE?

mrsmartin · 06/02/2012 21:44

housewife - do we know what's in that jolie box?

StellaAndFries · 06/02/2012 21:49

mrsm I haven't tried the BE yet, my parcel came when I was out this afternoon and I have a day of decorating tomorrow so no slap required Grin I did have a lovely bath with the geranium oil, body wash and body lotion which was just what I needed after Zumba :)

LikeItsGolden · 06/02/2012 22:03

Chuffed to bits with my Glossybox - wonder if MN has caused an upsurge in their sales? Wink

TragicallyHip · 06/02/2012 23:18

mrsmartin what did you ask about the 'cancel subscription the resubscribe to get discount' thing? I saw this today as I cancelled my 2nd sub and found the question quiet bizarre. I was thinking of cancelling my original sub and re-sub with a discount as supposedly you still keep your Glossy dots..

mrsmartin · 06/02/2012 23:58

I think you still keep your glossy dots but to be honest - they want you to collect that many to get a free box that I'm not really fussed about my dots. Basically, I got my last box for £5 instead of £10 because I had a code. However, because there is no contract, I think it is best to just end the subscription and then re-join so that I can use another code. I'm going to keep on doing that until they stop giving out codes. Same with carmine (I find the trick with carmine is to google glossy box - there is usually a link to carmine with a £5off deal). I emailed glossy because I didn't want to resubscribe and end up with the same box I got last week.

dingdong3 · 07/02/2012 09:36

Does anyone think the packaging is a bit OTT? I know it's lovely to get the wee box and open it up but now I'm left with two lovely empty boxes. Which is all very well, until I get next month's, and then the next month's...seems a tad wasteful when all I'm after is what's in them. I think it would be good if you could chose to opt not to have the internal box. The Glossybox cardboard box their Beauty Box comes in is pretty and I'd be happy to open it and find my stuff there...just a thought Smile

StellaAndFries · 07/02/2012 10:26

I'm saving my boxes to use for gift boxes, saves my eternal hunt for Sellotape!

Winkcat · 07/02/2012 10:29

I'm thinking on subscribing to the Amarya box. I'm gradually greening my cosmetics as I run out of stuff. Less chemicals can only be a good thing - right!

Does anyone want to be my "tell a friend" to get a free box? First one to send a message.... :)

Housewife2010 · 07/02/2012 10:34

mrsmartin
I don't know what's in the boudoir prive box. They keep giving hints on their facebook page, but nothing definite. For some, like BP and Feel Unique you have to order by a certain date for that box, whereas with others like Glossybox & Carmine you can wait to see what's in the box first.
Re Carmine, you can get the Dec & Jan boxes still, if you order them as gifts. The Dec carmine does look good.
Re dingdong, I do like the boxes. They can always be reused to put presents in or I'll probably give mine to my DD to store her crap treasures in.

Just signed up for Glossybox. Couldn't get the link to work yesterday. Possible overload from MN-ers?

Housewife I went through the link you emailed me so I hope you get your referral points.

Housewife2010 · 07/02/2012 11:26

HellonHeels
Thank you very much. Hope you like it.

I love the boxes - esp the Feb hot pink one!! I use them to give my nieces presents in - I buy cheap kids jewellery and make up - they are 10 and 7 - and pop them in the boxes and they look very grown up. They love them. The glossy ones are great as they don't have a branding name on them. They are also great for storage. Send them my way if you don't want them! :o

dingdong3 · 07/02/2012 12:37

Good ideas re: the boxes - thanks everyone! If the collection gets out of control, I'll be in touch mrsmartin :)
PS loving my green eyeliner from the Glossybox - wore it today and it's much nicer than black for day to day wear Smile

TragicallyHip · 07/02/2012 14:51

Ah thanks. I am going to re-sub for 6 months with a half price code I think.
I have about a million boxes. I have sold a few, made draws out of my Carmine boxes, gb boxes for jewellery and used a couple as gift wrap. Someone sent me some fu boxes and I am going to glue them together with the ones I already have to make a set of draws for my makeup. Um I think that is it for now..

StellaAndFries · 07/02/2012 19:29

I've cancelled and resubscribed to GlossyBox using the code GLOSSYTUBE2012 so it's only £7.95 again this month, now going to have a search for a carmine code and try to do the same.

StellaAndFries · 07/02/2012 20:15

Just used the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for the first time, it's lovely! I think I shall have to invest in a tube when the sample runs out. This one should last a while though as its quite a generous sized tube and I only needed to use a little blob. I was also shocked that the Sisley moisturiser sample's are selling for £17.99 plus p&p on eBay! Apparently it's £243 for a full size pot Shock I'm debating to use mine or sell it as I've only opened the box.

MrsMeow · 07/02/2012 20:42

Stella, when you cancelled did you email them and get an email back? I've just cancelled as wasn't impressed by the last box, but not sure if I should get a confirmation email or not?

mrsmartin · 07/02/2012 20:43

STELLA when I emailed glossy they said that anyone who subscribes up until the 10th will receive the current box still. For the next box you need to subscribe from the 11th of Feb. Shocked about the sisely cream!! :o And whilst c&p is nice - I really do prefer the new elemis pro radiance. The C&P will be great for travel though.

mrsmartin · 07/02/2012 20:45

mrsmeow they will email you - it takes a few hours though.

mrsmartin · 07/02/2012 20:46

Also stella - for carmine, if you put glossybox etc into google you often get the half price trial over come up somewhere on the search page - I do anyway

StellaAndFries · 07/02/2012 20:52

i didn't get an email to confirm my cancellation yet but I've checked my GlossyBox account and the next box I'm getting which I ordered tonight is definitely the February one and won't be dispatched until 20th of Feb, I'll have a google of the Carmine :)
