My legs are trembling. I thought I was going to die.

Oh Shit. Really? Have just bought this, it is still in it's cellophane wrapper. Shall I leave it there?

littleducks · 06/01/2012 19:52

In a 20 minute workout there is no time to take a break! Wink

ChablisLover · 06/01/2012 19:53

Yes - best left in cellophane. It's less dangerous.

Am starting again next month as January is so busy in work and the stress and chocolate diet does the trick this month. Next month is a different story. That's when the chocolate catches up.

Was thinking of purchasing the ripped in 30 to complement the shred. Anyone try it?

SP0104 · 06/01/2012 19:53

My DVD has arrived today - I'm going to try it tomorrow morning -will let you know what happens !!

hermioneweasley · 06/01/2012 19:55

Well, the good news is I didn't die. I just thought I was going to. And my face is still purple.

I did it once, too.......

just the once...

Overtiredmum · 06/01/2012 19:59

I love it, although had to stop because I had torn cartilage in my knee due to overdoing it.

Am hoping to get back to it soon though - only exercise I have ever missed!

AutumnWitch · 06/01/2012 20:03

I could hardly walk for 3 days after my first shred...

I did get little (ahem) carried away and went all out, thinking I was fit.

I wasn't.

Keep at it though, I still smile every time I see my shoulders now :)

Just started "no more trouble zones". I think the most polite comment I managed was "psycho!"

AtYourCervix · 06/01/2012 20:04

oh shred is great. looks fabulous on the shelf, still in it's wrapping, 1 year later

wildfig · 06/01/2012 20:16

I did the first day of Ripped in 30 last night. I'm steeling myself for day two tonight. It's about the same level as Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred but I'm already having to sub in some moves because of the devastation Jillian wreaked on my knees and my house's plasterwork with her effing jumpy lunges last time round.

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2012 20:20

I had my copy for nearly a year before I started it 5 days ago. Like AutmnWitch I could hardly walk for 3 days, but it does get better!

Juaneeze · 06/01/2012 23:20

I was doing it religiously last summer and was really pleased with the results after just a couple of weeks, then I got slack and haven't managed to get back into it.

Just as soon as I shift this ear infection (balance is shocking right now) I shall attempt it all over again and try and get past level 2!

Juaneeze · 06/01/2012 23:21

Rolling round like an abandoned Christmas bauble just isn't doing it for me right now Smile

bananarama05 · 06/01/2012 23:38

I completed day 3 of level 1 this morning.

Having hobbled around like an 80 year old all day, I'm now tucked up in bed having covered the whole of both my calves in deep heat!

I have to say though it did feel ever so slightly easier today....so going to regret saying that tomorrow aren't I?!

blobtobetter · 07/01/2012 08:06

I tried it and my knee really hurt! The rest of me does too but my knees hurt during as well as after.

Not sure if I dare do it again.

Do you think it might just mean that my knees need strengthening after carrying my bulk around?

bigTillyMint · 07/01/2012 08:20

Just done day 6 level 1 with the second set of weights. It was OK, though the side lunges were more of a challenge with the heavier weights!

b2b, I think you are right. I have always had dodgy knees but doing lots of exercises really helps to strengthen them [ like sitting on the floor with your legs out straight in front and lifting each leg slowly up and holding the lift before letting it down slowly - strengthens the muscles around your knees I think?

blobtobetter · 07/01/2012 08:35

Will go look for knee strengthening exercises!

I guess being a size 16 my knees are going to suffer if I start bouncing about - sick of being huge - time to do something about it!

bigTillyMint · 07/01/2012 08:42

Size 16 isn't huge. Isn't it the National Average size?

blobtobetter · 07/01/2012 08:47

I'm short though - feel huge! Plus all my friends are size 8 or 10.

NatureAbhorsAHoover · 07/01/2012 09:59

My copy arrived yesterday but I haven't taken it out of the wrapper yet... I will, soon, honest...

bananarama05 · 07/01/2012 11:30

Blob I'm a 16 (kidding myself I'm a 14 most of the time with terrible results) and I'm 5'4" so I feel your pain!

SulkySullenDame · 07/01/2012 11:40

I shredded once last year with my then 13 yo who mercilessly slagged me off for months (she is an athlete, I am size 18 16, fat and old). What do you do with your children if you have a small house? Don't they point and laugh? Especially the teenagers? And m little one is 3, I don't want her to laugh, she still worships me. Even worse, what if I squash her when she inevitably joins in? Hmm

buggyRunner · 07/01/2012 11:43

My dd1 who is 2.5 tries to join in- I find it so much easier to do when she's in bed, dd2 is 5 months and laughs!

bigTillyMint · 07/01/2012 12:09

SulkySullenDame, I have two uber-fit DC. I get up VERY early and do it before they get up Wink

However, I might have to ask DD to watch me doing some of the moves as I am not sure that I am doing them right.

SulkySullenDame · 07/01/2012 14:00

Oh, late at night or early in the morning... How appealing!! Grin
