My legs are trembling. I thought I was going to die.

Am I the only one who doesn't find the shred monotonous? It's far too challenging to be monotonous Blush

hermioneweasley · 10/01/2012 21:51

Right, have done it for the fourth time and it definitely gets easier. Am on the non modified moves for most exercises (except press ups, I can't do a single full press up!). I feel stronger already and am actually looking forward to doing it when I get home. I have however gained a few lbs. I am optimistically thinking this is my flab being converted to muscle?!

I have just done day 3 and am feeling it :-). Prob won't be able to fit it in tomorrow as have a vee busy day but will be back on thurs. I agree it's not as horrid as I feared although I can't do all of the full moves ESP press ups.

Was wondering when you are supposed to change levels tho?

bigTillyMint · 11/01/2012 07:08

Done day 2 of level 2 (day 10 in total) - I can really feel the lower abs now. I actually managed to sort of join in with the moves today rather than gawping at the screen wondering what to do!

I am finding those arm raises with the weights when you have to raise and bend one leg difficult - my balance is crap and I keep wobbling about all over the place.

Sparklegeek · 11/01/2012 13:46

Aarrggghh, did my first day on Level 2 this morning - HOW hard?! I had to miss out a couple of the arm raises on various exercises, hurt too much! I think I may have been a tad ambitious doing it straight after a 5k run though...Shock

bigTillyMint · 12/01/2012 07:53

sparklegeek, I tried to do a level 1 one day after the gym - nearly finished me off! However, shred then gym seems OK, so I'd say go for your 5k run after. Smile

I just did day 2 of level 1. Had a break yesterday as I went to beginners ice skating class and walked for about an hour on top of that, and thought it would kill me to do shred as well. I ached all over today before I started not sure if it is from previous shred or excerise yesterday. Hence I found day 2 harder than day 1 hope it starts to feel easier.

upahill · 12/01/2012 14:04

OK just done level 1.
I found it ok but I lose concentration.
I am better in a class enviroment I have decided but will give it another go.

bigTillyMint · 12/01/2012 17:23

Ringer, you dark horse, I didin't know you were a runner Grin

hermioneweasley · 13/01/2012 21:06

I've done it 6 times now and could do all the exercises all the way thru without having to put the weights down for the first time (still can't do a full press up tho'). I'm going to give it a couple more sessions on level 1 and then try 2. Eek! I definitely feel more toned already.

I've done this today for the first time. My arms and legs feel like custard now. Had to stop very briefly doing the skipping thing but managed the rest - just. it is really HARD!

ClothesOfSand · 13/01/2012 22:23

Does it involve lung capacity? I'm asthmatic and don't want to anything too aerobic. I used to do Cindy Crawford's exercise DVD but I believe it is now considered a health hazard, but at least it was stamina based rather than aerobic.

It's so worth sticking it out for the results; I have muscles for the first time in years and my muffin top has almost gone!

bigTillyMint · 14/01/2012 10:07

Have not done it properly today as I pulled my shouler doing twizzle things yesterday, my right knee is playing up and my lower left abs are very sore. I am feeling very old and worn out Sad

And you do not lose weight doing it unless you are dieting too Angry

However, I am feeling a bit more toned and DS said I had very muscley legs. (I think he was feeling sorry for me as he saw me limping to the end of the level 2 session!)

MissFoodie · 14/01/2012 12:04

I just did it for the first time, it's pretty hard, I found the cardio harder than the abs though...surprisingly....
jelly legs

wellwisher · 14/01/2012 12:15

SilverMinx as it's: days 1-10 at level 1, 11-20 at level 2, 21-30 at level 3. What is everyone else doing?

wellwisher · 14/01/2012 12:16

oops, half my post disappeared. Try again:

SilverMinx as it's called the 30-day shred and has 3 levels, I'm assuming that you do each level for 10 days: days 1-10 at level 1, 11-20 at level 2, 21-30 at level 3. What is everyone else doing?

Sparklegeek · 14/01/2012 12:43

I only did 5 days at level 1, now on day 4 of Level 2. I think you just move up when you feel ready. Level 1 wasn't too bad as I go to the gym or run 5 times a week anyway. Level 2 I intend to stay on for the full 10 days though!

Blatherskite · 14/01/2012 13:02

I tried level 2 once then went straight back to level 1! I only ever manage about 8 days and then I give up all together.

I am determined to a) not give up and b) get onto the higher levels this time though. If only so I don't have to do any more static bloody lunges! I hate them and they hurt no matter how long I've been doing level 1 for.

I have to replaced the "skipping" with jogging on the spot too or my knees and shins really, really hurt. I figure I'm still getting my heart rate up so I'm not cheating. Right?

bigTillyMint · 14/01/2012 13:08

Blathers, at level 2 you do running on the spot with your knees going as high as poss - you could try that?

Wellwisher, I did 8 days lf level 1 and then onto level 2 - maybe will do for 10/12 days? DH says I should be having a rest day or two a week, especially as I am getting minor injuries, but then I am old Sad

SilverMinx · 14/01/2012 13:17

I sort of figured that might be the idea well-wisher - I have done my fifth session at level 1 today - has taken 7 days as didn't shred weds or fri but is getting easier/I am more familiar. Was going to try next five sessions really pushing myself on level 1 then give level 2 a whirl. Sounds like its a big step up tho?

SilverMinx · 14/01/2012 13:19

Btw I only had the days off as didn't make the time - have dc aged 3 and 2 months! But doesn't seem a bad idea to have some rest days like you say bigtillymint I can def feel the effects in my muscles the next day!
