Are you all nursing hangovers or just clearing up the post Christmas mess?

OP posts:
orangina · 05/01/2012 17:46

No no no! Have been busy (run up to Christmas) and then away (until a few days ago), and now have found you! Can I add my name to the list for the 20th please?

Ruby, I have the very SAME boots (in anthracite grey)... I love them and am sporting them as I type....

(admires lower legs)

(ignores flabby knees)

(can't face going anywhere near bulky midriff)

I am starting Shredding tonight.... and have resolved to be low carb/low sugar/low alcohol all January (not sounding like a joyful few weeks ahead, is it?!)

Am feeling over-fed, over-boozed, and under-exercised. Am determined to do something about it....

What about BFI again? If it ain't broke.....

bigTillyMint · 05/01/2012 19:10

Well I'd be happy with that - how about the rest of you?????Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/01/2012 19:39

Fine by me.

MI - I will be coming from Trafalgar Square - shall I come and collect you again? Xmas Grin

I have hot date on the 18th and a possible Groucho night on the 19th (but we have agreed that we need to Drink Less This Time and to Behave Ourseves), so hopefully hangover free. But ticket and hotel booked now, so definitely coming.

herbaceous · 05/01/2012 19:43

BFI would be fine by me, too. The food was pretty good, wasn't it, and the wine went down a treat!

On an S&B note, I am greatly inconvenienced by the habit of modern jeans to keep needing hoiking up. As soon as I bend over, down goes the waistband at the back, and doesn't rise again until I pull it up. I'm sure this never used to happen with ordinary, non-skinny, type jeans. Is there a solution, other than to act my age and buy some M&S high-waisters?

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/01/2012 20:22

I have the M & S 12 quid jeans and they always need hoicking up as well. Unless I should do as MI says and buy a size smaller.

motherinferior · 05/01/2012 20:36

HAHAHAHAHAA at MrsS and her Groucho friends' Good Resolution. Shall I have alka seltzer with me Grin?

Perhaps you had better, MI. We only went for "a drink after work" last time and ended up being put into a taxi by the staff at 0300... Blush

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/01/2012 21:02

Go on Ruby - book yourself a cheap hotel on LastMinute.com. Friday nights you can usually stay somewhere reasonable for not a great deal.

bigTillyMint · 05/01/2012 21:04

Ooops! good contact Grin

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 05/01/2012 21:19

BFI is good for me. I shall try and get a room at the (hopefully not too skanky) Travelodge as we are trying to economise. And dh is in a grump because he unwisely booked a band practice for the 21st and will have to grovel to Granny for childcare for ds.

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/01/2012 21:21

Huffy - before you book the travelodge, have a look on Lastminute.com. You can get some really quite good deals at the weekend, even just for one night.

Blackduck · 06/01/2012 07:13

Anywhere central good for me. I am meeting college friends in the day to celebrate birthday and life of friend who died from cancer last year and will then join you all. I will then go home and crash at folks and do my. Mums birthday the following day. I am feeling a bit wobbly about it as you have all (largely) met each other and I bet you are way more glam than I am!
Anyway school has place for ds, boss has not totally dismissed working plans, house survey has been done and I have bought packing boxes.....I guess this move is happening.

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2012 07:28

BD, don't feel wobbly - I wouldn't ever describe myself as glam, and it will be lovely to meet you. You have a very busy weekend lined up!

Sounds like the move is ready to happen - hold onto your hatSmile

Ruby and Huffy, maybe you could share a room? You will have to get dead drunk to put up with each others snoring, of course Wink

CointreauVersial · 06/01/2012 09:55

She's lying, BD, she scrubbed up very well indeed!

Ruby - I hope you do make it on the 20th.

Anyway, observe my halo. First run of 2012 completed, and I did my whole 20+ minute curcuit without stopping - yay. Off to wallow in the bath.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 06/01/2012 10:11

I'm feeling a leetle bit creaky this morning after my circuits class last night. I discovered that my pelvic floor doesn't like skipping. This is fine by me as the rest of me doesn't like skipping either. I will happily do press-ups, sit-ups, lunges, jogging. punching, weights, (all in faintly feeble way, obvs) but no more skipping EVER. I am not yet ready to purchase any TENA Lady products.

BD, I am physically incapable of being even remotely glamorous and I am also an impoverished yokel. This means I am about as intimidating as a rice pudding. And I am also a bit scared of London these days.

Ruby, I have spent ages trying to find a way to that £51 single room at the Travelodge, but it will only offer me doubles with no brekkie for £69, so I think all the singles are gone. I will probably go for the double, as it is still very reasonable compared to the other options available in the area.

orangina · 06/01/2012 10:24

I shredded last night! Yay! And am doing ok on the low carb-ness. Hurrah!

Blimey my thighs ache this morning though.......

So, BFI it is then is it?

herbaceous · 06/01/2012 10:45

I'm doing high-carbing. Yesterday I had 1.5 pain au raisin, soup + bread, two biscuits, and a curry plus rice and naan. And a beer. Oh, and some nuts. Tomorrow I'm going out for a pizza.

From next week it's going to be no cakes, biscuits or crisps, and no booze in the week. Plus shredding. Last time I did the shred, I got up to level 3, and even did some of Natalie's moves! I simply can't believe I'll even be able to get through level 1 now.
