Are you all nursing hangovers or just clearing up the post Christmas mess?

OP posts:
HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 10/01/2012 16:32

Sounds good to me, BTM. Thank you very much!

Fingers crossed for footy training getting cancelled (or your Fairy Godmother appearing to do it!) and no traffic jams Smile

CointreauVersial · 10/01/2012 23:28

Well done for taking charge, BTM as I am evidently too much of a lazyarse and was just waiting for a decisive teacher-type to do all the legwork. Wink

Sounds perfect. I haven't yet got my head around when I will get there, but the DDs no longer do swimming on a Friday which was always the complicating factor, so it just hangs on when DH can get home which will be when I tell him to, or there will be Trouble.

Hope you make it, Ruby, what a chore these pesky children are with their silly activities....

I'm still a bit up in the air for the 20th (ds1 has exam the next morning and dh not sure what time he will be home that night), so will have to play it totally by ear, but will try to come at least for a drink.

bigTillyMint · 11/01/2012 11:50

Awww Wilbur.... could anyone sit for you till your DH gets back? Or go to a friend's if your DH won't be too late?

wilbur · 11/01/2012 13:18

Will certainly do my best as I'd like to see you all.

DukesOfTripHazard · 11/01/2012 13:54

I am in process of acquiring a new babysitter (one that can do fishtail plaits - kudos) in order to nail down the 20th. If I can, I'm in soup to nuts (have never used that yankee expression but I hope it's self-explan).

I love 2012 so far. I have made huge progress on a script and feel kind towards the universe. I also hope the universe will forgive me for leaning down and sucking up a splat of Rachel's Organic ginger yoghurt directly from the kitchen worktop where I'd spilt it.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 11/01/2012 13:58

Ruby, that's excellent! Wilbur, I do hope you can make it.

I was invigilating this morning and it was all a bit Sad as a pupil in Yr 13 died unexpectedly yesterday and they were having special assemblies to inform everyone today - and then we had to take the pupils into their A level exams.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 11/01/2012 14:01

Dukes, your kitchen worktops are clearly cleaner than mine. I won't be sucking anything off my worktops any time soon. Grin

DukesOfTripHazard · 11/01/2012 14:11

Right, this is for Huffy in particular but reccommend this place

www.pixibeauty.co.uk/pixi-stores.html

In particular this, which is lovely, lovely, fresh and dewy without being too glittery as the light reflecting farticles are teeny tiny.

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 11/01/2012 14:25

Dukes, thank you for that. I am liking the thought of "fresh and dewy". :)

wilbur · 11/01/2012 14:50

That stuff looks brilliant, Dukes, love the idea of matching concealer. Which colour do you have? You are quite fair, aren't you? And well done on the script - always feels so good to crack on with something like that.

Huffy - how sad about that pupil. Sad It's a tough time for those kids to lose a friend. An ex boyfriend who I really adored died in a car accident on his gap year the week before my A Levels started, it was such a shock and my teenage brain didn't understand or process it at all and I was sad for years.

DukesOfTripHazard · 11/01/2012 17:11

Sad Wilbur's story and Huffy's news.

Re the illuminating tint, I have 1 and 2 - winter and summer basically. Could ideally do with combo of the two really. I am fair, yus.

Off to google drum kits. Found a teacher and I'm going to bloody do it!

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 11/01/2012 18:04

Woohoo! Go Dukes. Grin

motherinferior · 11/01/2012 20:23

Dukes - if you run into babysitter troubles let me know. I have various amenable venal teenagers up my sleeve Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 11/01/2012 20:44

I have a chin full of spots. Big hurty ones.

Am on sofa with a crap film while WW3 goes on, on the other side of the door.

motherinferior · 11/01/2012 20:51

Oh, what's happening, sweetie?

I am trying to learn how to have Painted Nails. I'm getting through a lot of varnish remover Blush

MrsSchadenfreude · 11/01/2012 21:08

DH has man flu. He will not drink Paris tap water, ho no. It has to be bottled for him. Asked DD1 to go to supermarket for him to get case of water and a couple of bottles of Coke. She forgot the Coke. He asked me to go and get it "because I'm not weeeeellllll". I said fresh air would do him good, so he went out all huffy and door bangy, shouting at me for letting cats into sitting room (they are not allowed as they claw furniture), although he let them into the room in the first place. I shut door behind yowling cats and mewing DH, and bashed Schadenkitten's head on the door as she tried to get back in. Cue more shouting from DH about poor concussed kitten.

In the meantime, DD1 has looked at her grades for this term online. She has a B- for English (she is usually good at English, so sees this as major fail), then sees that she has a D in science. So screaming and wailing and cries of "I'll never get a puppy now", more ranting about how she hates school, is crap at everything and doesn't see the point of it. Lots of shrieking and throwing herself about. Oh and "Don't tell Daddy about the D for science". I said, I thought Daddy had probably heard, as indeed he had.

DD2 (still with me?) had an early night with a nice nurofen as her temp was a bit up, and I wondered if she was getting what I've got. She woke up in all this and is miserable because she is hot and headachy and hasn't done her homework. Too late now, say I, and go back to film, closing door firmly behind me.
