New thread.

OP posts:
blue2711 · 28/12/2011 16:49

Right, Zara gold tote and also this sequin skirt purchased. Haven't seen the latter in RL but thought I'd give it a try. And new ones are on eBay at double that!
I'm increasingly noticing a real gulf between my actual life and my wardrobe though...

On that note... Has anyone seen any good bright pink heels (ideally I'd have WIT's neon rupert sanderson ones...) or leopard print cardigans in the sales?!

AntPants1 · 28/12/2011 16:59

Amber the Zara sequin skirt is lovely in real life. There is a lovely leopard print Cardigan in the Pure sale www.purecollection.com/.Cashmere-Animal-Print-Cardigan_LK-D28.htm

carciofi · 28/12/2011 17:05

Blue, yes, I have a couple of dresses as yet unworn!

The Russell and Bromley website is awful. Until they sort it out, I can't move back to Dublin!

DH is bored, teething babies didn't figure in his plans of a relaxing week off work. Luckily we are going out tonight. I think I will debut the black velvet jeans and the Ants blue leopard print top.

blue2711 · 28/12/2011 18:25

That outfit sounds great carciofi. Always a fan of leopard! I've almost bought that pure cardigan before ants and it does look really nice, but I generally get on better with v neck, more 'cutaway' styles... But then again perhaps I should give the round neck cardigan a try again...

Please can someone tell me what I should wear on Friday night?! It's our wedding anniversary and we're going to this lovely hotel for the night. Dinner in the hotel restaurant sounds quite formal then we'll retire to the cosy bar by the fire I hope. Really looking forward to it but so bored by all my maternity outfits! Is my Zara sequin jacket, which is a very dull bronzey gold, going to look simply ridiculous in the depths of Derbyshire? I could put it over a black vest and skinnies or perhaps my black IO t shirt dress? Panicking. Need Wendy to move someone colder and be pregnant! She's not helping me right now!

blossoming · 28/12/2011 18:27

Sounds great carciofi. Hope you have a great time.
amber, I can see how a McQueen scarf would be a great addition to the outfit Envy!
Another few pounds added to waistline. Have been at parents house all day. That should be it though. I have friends coming for NYE, but I'm going to make salads I think!

notyummy · 28/12/2011 18:55

Go for the Zara glitter Blue. If you are wearing with black it won't look over the top. Hotel looks great- have heard of it but not been myself.

AntPants1 · 28/12/2011 19:04

blue I tend to err on the side of sequins....! I have the same Zara jacket as you. It's fabulous. Wear it!

Zembo · 28/12/2011 19:20

Blue I had lunch at The Peacock last December - it was lovely, you'll look great in the sequins.

Marsha so glad the eyebrows are good! Threading is undoubtedly the thing for dealing with brows, but I reckon having it done a few days before an event is the way to go. I noticed that Superdrug in Nottingham now has a brow bar charging £5 for brows - not bad for a high street shop (I'm still paying £3 but have to drive to Derby to get it done)

I've decided to keep the roxy, It's taken me a week to get used to the 'bikerness' of it and to justify the purchase Smile - I think it's really good quality for the money, beautiful soft leather.

IceCreamCastles · 28/12/2011 19:26

Evening all, good to see so much sales avidity- blue, I'm so impressed that you are continuing to shop so well- I have hit a major slump and can't see beyond my boring maternity outfits.

Am utterly shattered. My family left yesterday afternoon and we we had about half an hour to ourselves before a friend arrived with her 2 week old baby. She had a bit of a rough start to it all and we had offered to let her stay and sleep whilst we did the night shift if she needed to. Well, on boxing day her husband came down with d&v so she took us up on the offer! Such a good baby though - woke up quietly every 3 hours for quick feed and change and then went straight back to sleep. Am holding out hope for one like that this time round Grin

In other good news Dh's uncle is out of intensive care, has eaten and things are looking much better which is a relief all round.

Yes to meet up zembo- were you thinking of daytime or evening?

NY- if you can make meet up do you want me to bring earharts along for you to try? Or I can send them earlier if you want?

MarshaBrady · 28/12/2011 19:48

NY the anchor print dress and the purple dress will look great on you. Have they arrived? Great parka too.

Amber we were trying to find Rigby & Peller today and were told by everyone the wrong place. Liberty, to Selfridges to Harrods. Then found it of course next to Harrods which is where my parents are staying. Ha! I am not surprised about the yelling old people in Harrods or anywhere. The big department stores were nuts.

Red impressed by the horse riding.

Carciofi have a lovely time out tonight, outfit sounds great.

Blue lovely hotel. Go with the Zara.

Zembo yes I agree. I am now a convert to it!

Ollie I know, it's tough when things go on sale. I feel the same about the Kors x 2 heels. But then if needed for an event I have to deal with it.

Icey so pleased you dh's uncle is out of intensive care.

Bloss can't believe I am considering this, but may have to do the shred thing. I prefer swimming or running but so hard to get the time. I am in awe of NY doing the run in the dark. But I can't quite imagine how it would work here.

Fleecy your gorgeous little baby sounds adorable.

Ants lovely top.

Anniemac hope your dd2 is feeling better.

Parents with their siblings tonight. So I am with dh.

Deep breath... ok some sales / present links.

MarshaBrady · 28/12/2011 20:33

Bit of a one shop stop in the end. Ie no walking around, well, a bit of walking to get the underwear. Otherwise all Stella McCartney.

Scarf in navy.

Big slouchy jumper.

Pea green coat.

A sequin sweater dress. bit like this but not. Beige / blush colour. Sequins only at top half. Will need something like Amber buys to go underneath.

Some Stella M grey skinny jeans with ankle zip / long navy wool gloves.

And the Rigby and Peller.

That's it!

AmberNectarine · 28/12/2011 20:49

Gorgeous buys Marsha, and you got your scarf!

MarshaBrady · 28/12/2011 20:56

Thanks! and yes. The long-awaiting scarf indeedy.

Some of the links are a bit pants. But the stuff / styling is nicer.

MarshaBrady · 28/12/2011 20:57

awaited. Sheesh I cannot type anymore.

Fleecy · 28/12/2011 21:03

Yes I smiled at the scarf link. You held out and got it for less - result! Particularly love the pea green coat. BTW, L is being less than adorable today and won't settle this evening - would you like to borrow her for a little while marsha? Grin

NAP and Outnet orders arrived today but family here so no time to open. And now L on me until she settles so will have to wait until tomorrow...

blue what size are you looking for in the CE leopard skinnies? There's a pair on eBay for buy it now price of £125 in 27 waist. There are no pics of the actual trousers so might be worth asking for photos but she has 100% feedback as a seller and buyer and looks worth investigating.

IceCreamCastles · 28/12/2011 21:13

Grin at the scarf marsha- it was inevitable really wasn't it?!

MarshaBrady · 28/12/2011 21:15

Yes Fleecy Grin. Heart-melting little things. I can say that now the sleep deprivation part is over.

I know, the question is how loyal will I be to the 2m wool thing I knitted that gave me RSI? Grin

Zembo · 28/12/2011 21:22

Fabulous haul Marsha I really like the coat too and how lucky are you, being treated to that little lot? Smile

Ice I was thinking of lunch and have PM'd you, Blue and NY

blossoming · 28/12/2011 22:01

Wow marsha, that is some haul! Give the Shred a go, it's not 30 mins out of your day, and it gets results.
So glad your DH 's uncle has turned a corner icey.
Have just made DH sit through Bridesmaids. Have serious 'stripe Envy'. Such a great wardrobe the main character has.

blossoming · 28/12/2011 22:03

Cannot wait for new season clothes ie stripes to hit the shops!

carciofi · 28/12/2011 22:54

Lovely purchases, Marsha.

The babysitter didn't show, she got the day wrong and didn't reply to my text until after 10. Bit annoyed but let it go as she lives on our street and is 16 so 1. probably scatty and 2. cheaper than my daytime babysitter so might actually get out more. (provided she gets the day right next time). Dh liked the oslos and has given me an amnesty on recent credit card purchases so that was good!

Fleecy hope L sleeps. Rosie had a bad night last night again, wish those teeth would just make an appearance.

Bloss, Nicole Farhi has lovely stripey tees for spring.

carciofi · 28/12/2011 22:55

Blue, sequins sound fab.

AntPants1 · 28/12/2011 23:02

wow marsha amazing haul. Am so pleased you got your scarf and sequin dress sounds lovely. I remember you were going to knit one as well? how did that turn out? Have just taken up knitting again but will be a long way until I can do anything nice!! Am just looking at videos on you tube and having a go!
