Thanks Smile, no good for me sadly.

Hi everyone. Back after a long day. Did the style day on my own, but still took from 9.30 to 4pm!
So it turns out I'm a dramatic classic. Makes sense: the davina with it's neckline, the agnes with the zips, the lkb platforms, the smoky eye at MAC.. and why I questioned the R&B mid heels as being too frumpy. Seems that I have many classic tendencies, but do need to add 'drama' to them and give them an edge.
So everything has to be sleek and angular; fabrics are smooth shiny and stiff (no wonder I don't like lace!) Patterns are square, geometric, stripes(!!). No animal print.
As a personality Dramatics don't do hugs!, they like people to get to the point, they deliver on promises, are punctual and take initiative. They don't like waffling, whingeing, whining, dithering, wimpy behaviour or selfishness. (Whining, dithering..hello MIL!)
The only problem is she wants me to wear statement jewellery and belts. That I'm going to have difficulty with!
Sorry about the me, me post. Back later after catching up and with JBrand update. Can't believe they arrived already.

Thanks njc. Wish I could be classic dramatic too but my affinity to hugging would probably put me into a soft-hippy-floral category (if anything like that exists).

FritziGreenEyes · 26/10/2011 21:51

njc and bloss Are these types similar to the HoC system?

I really want DH to do the colour and style day, and want to give it to him as a Christmas present. He is not on board. I just did the quiz on him, and I'm diagnosing him a classic ingenue.

Talking of EA, at lunch I got my consultant to look at images of her and then I showed here the Whistles biker which she thought would look great on me, as long as I have something longer on underneath as I am so high waisted. She didn't think my age was a deterrent to wearing a biker! She thought the Pure outfit was also dramatic enough for me, the sequin stripe made the top work and she said I should always wear a slim or straight leg trouser.

njc, she was very diplomatic and said my jewellery was lovely, but it was too small. I have diamond studs, diamond stud necklace and gucci watch which is a little like a tennis bracelet.
I'm so not on board with the belt thing either.
What do you think you are fritzi?
J Brands are lovely. Look great peeking out from underneath the Pure jacket!

MarshaBrady · 26/10/2011 23:05

Sounds spot on for you Bloss.

Looked at Fritzi's link and quickly read. I can discount all the shorter, petite ones. Natural sounds good for me for hair but I would never wear beads or funky type jewelry. So would need something else in there too. Actually I'll just go for a mix of the taller type ones.

Ooh thanks NJC! I really love the sound of that.

pickledsiblings · 27/10/2011 00:13

bloss, it sounds like a great experience - the whistles biker would look great on you. about belts, just keep an eye out for how outfits on nap etc are styled with them. i'm sure something will catch your eye soon enough.

marsha, glad you had a fab holiday - not too long until your big family get-together either. dh quite fancies berlin for christmas but we won't be staying where you are Smile

MarshaBrady · 27/10/2011 08:05

Pickled that would be fab! We could do a Berlin Christmas mini meet up, with Fritzi too. How lovely, let me know if you do.

Portia4 · 27/10/2011 08:14

Bloss your HOC session sounds great, I think that I am also a classic dramatic , I love modern classic styling but also love belts and chunky jewellery, and have built up a collection over the years. I bought a biker jacket last year from a boutique in Tunbridge Wells where they make their own leathers, I've got lots of wear out of it.
I hope everyone has a good day today, mine has started with a silly squabble with Dh!

FritziGreenEyes · 27/10/2011 08:18

Would love to do mini meet- up but we are leaving for South Africa on the 21st... Will give you a list of places you can go and shop though Wink

Think I might have a clothing personality disorder as I can see a bit of myself in each category (not with regards to body type but other aspects). Confused

Already got a compliment at school for my outfit today which made me Blush and Grin at the same time. Wearing notyummy's Zara lace pencil skirt, navy/grey Breton (narrow stripes), black fitted blazer, opaques and shoe boots.

Have a great day everyone!

MarshaBrady · 27/10/2011 08:28

South Africa. Exciting stuff. A morning compliment is indeed a lovely thing Grin

And your outfit sounds absolutely great.

Meeting a friend I have known for 20 years(!) today. And need to wear something very nice, but effortless too.

FritziGreenEyes · 27/10/2011 08:30

Just read about different candidates up for election in Ireland in German newspaper. Dana Rosemary Scallion, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1970, ... Wonder how she would get on with our no-nonsense Angela Merkel Smile

wideawakenurse · 27/10/2011 08:33

Morning All.

Sounds like it was a great day Bloss, and that description of you sounds spot on. I think think the biker would be a great buy for you. Glad you like the J-Brands too, I think that the 910's are their best style and they never sag.

fritzi your school run outfit sounds very chic, the compliment should be taken gracefully!

pickled how lovely at the thought of Berlin, it will be great if you can meet with Marsha too.

We put DS to bed, shut the door after re-arranging his cot so it was in the middle of the room and therefore he had no other furniture to help him out. DH opened his door overnight as it was warm, and he still managed to get out. So yes, stair gate purchase will happen this weekend. Little monster!

Was thinking of Annie earlier, she must be enjoying having DH back home.

notyummy · 27/10/2011 09:11

Love the sound of you day Bloss - having looked at Fritzis link I am still none the wiser what I am. I see elements of natural but that is about all!

Fritzi - Not surprised you got a compliment. That outfit sounds fab!

Currently working from home and planning to get out for a long run if/when the rain stops.

Hope you all have great days.

AmberNectarine · 27/10/2011 09:23

Morning all,

Channelling WIT today in grey marl T, skinny cargoes and my pony skin leopard print loafers! Without wanting to sound creepy fritzi I always think your outfits sound fab, so not surprised you were complimented! Planning on wearing my Comptoir lace T, indigo skinnies and either Jalouse or sequin ballerinas tonight depending on how likely I think a dash home may be :)

Out with DH for a 'date' today (with a baby in tow!) so we are planning a cinema trip, followed by lunch and a bit of shopping.

bloss style day sounds fabulous, and though I've never met you it sounds very accurate! Have put getting my colours done on my B'day list (which will post in full later) so will maybe do style day after.

Having a pyjama morning here. Feeling your pain petitdonkey. I was clearing up puke last night too.
Fabulous outfit fritzi. Need to step up my game! There was a section yesterday where the consultant graded me on my outfit. You got points for make up, jewellery, nail varnish etc etc. I only scored 10. Couldn't believe it. I told her I'm sure I make more effort than lots of people I know. Good job I was wearing Agnes, the zips on the hips gave me extra points! Feeling a bit down on confidence this morning. I have purchased a white shirt though, and a 'statement' necklace from M&S, just to start me off.
Great tip that pickled. Have been browsing NAP all morning!

pickledsiblings · 27/10/2011 10:20

amber, another big fan of fritzi's outfits here too Smile.

on that note, i was trying to work your style out from that link fritzi but i couldn't quite classify you Grin. portia and i were having a laugh about dana at the mu in an omg kind of way.

your outfit for tonight sounds lovely btw amber
