I have real issues with nightwear

KatyMac · 12/06/2011 09:59

I do not like cartoon characters/cutesy slogans
I am not some sort of vamp in black/red/purple shiny nylon with scratchy lace
I don't really do pastels
I can only afford a tenner or so

So while Tesco had it's sale on yesterday I thought I'll buy a nice top to wear as a nighty

But I like it so much I want to wear it as a top (& it's not on the website so I can't show you); which brings me back to "I have real issues with nightwear"

My house is super tidy and clean but still only do sheets weekly. My shelves though are colour coded symetrical and dust free inc books Grin

GetOrf · 12/06/2011 13:31

Colour coded? Christ Grin

People have different standards for different things though, don't they. For instance I buy ready made mash becasue I am not squandering 10 minutes of my life peeling fucking potatoes like a private in the war.

noddyholder · 12/06/2011 13:33

Oh yes no one would notice it only me! I only like certain colours together. My dp is chief potato peeler I am also averse to that!

strawberryjelly · 12/06/2011 13:35

But what's the matter with your bedding if you have to strip the bed after being in it for 8 hours? do you go to bed mucky?

if i stripped a king size Egyptian cotton sheet, duvet cover and pillow slips daily, washed and ironed them, ( either line dry or tumble) I'd have no time to go to work or do anything else.

You can have OCD mildly you know. Smile

lol at stealth boast 'egyptian cotton'

I just have bog standard cotton shit from Ikea or somewhere. And I don't iron it.

No the sheets aren't dirty, just like the smell of new ones.

I do realise it's odd, dp and dd think i am nuts Grin

strawberryjelly · 12/06/2011 14:24

yes I have egyptian cotton sheets. so there. John Lewis in sale.

I like the smell and feel of clean sheets too- but have better things to do each day than wash- things such as work!

GetOrf · 12/06/2011 14:34

you really are the passive aggressive little twat, aren't you. I was joking re egyptian sheets.

I work as well, deary. Long hours. I cut corners in other household chores to save time. Ten minutes a day to change sheets isn't hard. I am not advocating that this is the Laundry Law and everyone should do it.

OK?

strawberryjelly · 12/06/2011 14:42

A twat? charming. Passive agressive? oh forgot you were qualified as a psychotherapist. your sheets might be clean but your language isn't.

Bugger off and do more washing.

Meggles76 · 12/06/2011 14:49

DH and I both sleep naked and sheets are only changed weekly - I have neither time, nor inclination, to change more frequently. We are both still alove and well Wink

Back to the matter of nightwear - when I go camping, I take cotton PJ bottoms and a vest top - picked some up in M&S recently for around £10

GetOrf · 12/06/2011 14:54

amusing irony at psychotherapist comment when I was diagnosed with ocd upthread.

Unless yiou are a psychotherapist in which case I take it all back and award you with 6000 mumsnet points and a gold star Smile

GreenTeapot · 12/06/2011 15:19

Let this be a lesson to you KatyMac. Never, ever start a thread on Mumsnet asking for help finding a nightie. It's obvious bunfight material Grin

Sometimes you cannot predict which threads will light the touchpaper.

I remember a hideous row on a thread about tea towels once. It was great. Grin

Poor OP - sorry, mate Grin

Wouldn't it be enough to change just the pillow cases every day?
Your head doesn't rest on the sheets.

Oh I am enjoying this. It's like the good old days!
