Every 6 months! I have to go every 10 days Blush

BornToFolk · 19/05/2011 19:34

£6 in the local shopping mall, in full view of everyone. They are quick and good though. Last time she offered to do my upper lip (which really needed doing! Blush) but I am not brave enough for that.

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/05/2011 19:35

Oh I know I pay a lot but just don't know where else to go - any recommendations in bath/bristol?

QBEE · 19/05/2011 19:38

Every 10 days if i don't leave the house for the last six of those ten days but I am new to it and apparently it lasts longer and longer after a few months of regular threading has been done.

Also I am blessed with hairytruckeritis so it would be less for others maybe?

MrsPumphrey · 19/05/2011 19:43

£5 for brows and upper lip every 4 weeks. They show you how to stretch the skin taut so it is much less painful. Better result than any other method I've tried.

upahill · 19/05/2011 19:45

£7.50 for eyebrows, lip and chin. The lady also trins the eyebrows if they are begining to get a bit unruly

edoli · 19/05/2011 19:45

£6 in St Albans. It only takes 5 mins to difficult to see how people can charge a lot more.

PinkOlives · 19/05/2011 19:48

£8.50 brows and upper lip. have been doing it for years since i was a teenager, sorry to say there isnt less now even though ive been doing it for years.

every 2-3 weeks, rapid hair growth too! 3rd week i stay in Wink
i suppose one day it will be a blessing that i have a thick bush of eyebrows no need to pencil in!

MrsSnow · 19/05/2011 19:52

£2.00 in Tooting in an asian beautician.

FollowMe · 19/05/2011 19:53

£10 for brows and £7 for chin!
I go every 2 to 3 weeks

berri · 19/05/2011 19:56

OMG I'm being seriously ripped off - I pay £15 just for brows, in department store in Kingston upon Thames.

You do get the 11th free, but still that's soooo expensive!

Off to find somewhere else next time....

Fimbo · 19/05/2011 19:58

I have to get mine done frequently too. So envious of my friend who only has to have it done a couple of times a year. Grrrrr. If I let it go too long I look as if I have never ever had my eyebrows threaded or waxed.

ArthurMcAffertyandhisCat · 19/05/2011 20:02

£3 in West London. Is this the first example of something being cheaper in London than anywhere else in the country?

BillComptonstrousers · 19/05/2011 20:17

Arthur, I would definatly say that where I am, small north east pit villages, it is not very multi cultural at all, no asian food shops/ beauty salons etc. Maybe that is why it is so expensive here.

crystalglasses · 19/05/2011 20:21

£2.00 in a hairdrerssers in Newham, East London and £7 in various pop up shops on the concourse of a few shopping centres in North London.

forehead · 19/05/2011 20:33

£1.99 when i visit family in Tooting.

Not sure I agree Everlong. I pay £3.50 for eyebrow threading and eybrow trim and the women does a fantastic job.. It's £7,50 if I want chin and lip done at the same time. £17 seems waaaaaaay too much.

FreeButtonBee · 19/05/2011 21:17

£3 clapham in london in asian salon, where you take a to ket like at the meat counter at the supermarket. Bit hit and miss with the therapists but for £3 i am not fussy! £5 for lip and chin and brows togwther. Baaaargian.

Tbh i see it as a mantainence thing and i do the perfecting so am happy to do the final tidying.

happybubblebrain · 19/05/2011 21:22

My local hairdressers did it for £3, and a really lovely job too. Plus only £20 for a really good haircut - wash, cut and style. Unfortunately they've closed down and an expensive salon opened up in it's place - sob sob - I think I'll do my own eyebrows and hair from now on.

BibiThree · 19/05/2011 21:24

There's a 'stall' in the new shopping centre in Cardiff, £10 a time with a loyalty card so 10th thread is free.

chanie44 · 19/05/2011 21:27

£2 in Newham in East London. I now live in South London and I refuse to pay £3 here, so I wait until I go to visit my Mum.

A lady at work got hers done at Harvey Nicks and paid something like £15 (I nearly fainted when she told me)

brighthair · 19/05/2011 21:27

£0
I do it myself (upper lip and brows) or bribe one of two colleagues who do a fantastic job! I taught myself from Youtube

IzziesMummy · 19/05/2011 21:30

£5 in superdrug in the Manchester area. I had it done for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and whilst it looks great now it hurt more than I was expecting it to (am not usually a wuss!) and I had two massive red marks where my eyebrows used to be - had been long overdue for shaping Blush - which wasn't a good luck for going round the Trafford Centre for the rest of the day!

SpeedyGonzalez · 19/05/2011 21:31

Used to pay £3 from a local Asian salon. Now pay £6 from a different local Asian salon as I moved house.

The first lady was much better.

If anyone's interested, there's a place in Pimlico on the main road, which does it brilliantly for £5. They have a pic of the manager shaking Shilpa Shetty's hand Grin - odd as I think she's gorgeous but has crap eyebrows!
