£10 -Sheffield

lalalonglegs · 19/05/2011 18:46

#3 in the back of a dress shop in Balham, south London. It's #1 if I can be arsed to cycle down to Tooting but this woman does a great job and I don't begrudge her the extra two quid Grin.

QBEE · 19/05/2011 18:47

£15 full facial

OvO · 19/05/2011 18:47

I fancy having this done.

If you go in with Liam Gallagher style eyebrows are they all tutty and condescending?

My are shameful but my fragile ego cant take the tutting.

lalalonglegs · 19/05/2011 18:50

Becaroooo - it's a way of plucking your eyebrows rolling tautly pulled lengths of cotton thread across them. Much quicker than plucking, better result than waxing (which costs #15 around where I live Shock). They can do tashes and chins as well but it's too time-consuming to make it worthwhile doing, say, a leg. Here in south London, there are tons of stalls set up by Asian women who specialise in it.

chickchickchicken · 19/05/2011 18:52

£3.50 in the grottiest part of gloucester

Becaroooo · 19/05/2011 18:54

lala Blimey.

Never heard of it!

Note to self: get out more

Grin
mummylouise · 19/05/2011 18:59

i wouldn't pay anymore than a fiver. i used to get them threaded but my beautian, who is also a friend does my eyebrow wax, tint, eyelash tint, mani and pedi for £15. And she is fantastic!!!

lalalonglegs · 19/05/2011 18:59

OvO - nooooo, they're lovely, Asian women tend to have hair issues themselves so none of that Anglo-Saxon "oooh, I'm not sure our machinery can cope with the sheer volume of your eyebrows, tell you what, we'll make it simpler and charge by weight".

OvO · 19/05/2011 19:06

Grin @ charge by weight.

I might get someone to go with me to back me up if I get a mean one. Grin

ednurse · 19/05/2011 19:07

£0 on a night shift with a lovely indian colleague

HopeEternal · 19/05/2011 19:08

I pay £19 for brows, beard and 'tache at the stall in Telford Shopping Centre. Hurts like holy hell but then looks good for a few weeks. And the poor girl just keeps saying "Sorry, sorry, sorry" and handing me more tissues to wipe the tears away.

Al0uiseG · 19/05/2011 19:17

Wish I could learn how to do it, I'd do my own legs!

Fimbo · 19/05/2011 19:18

I think it will be painful if you haven't had any treatments on your eyebrows before like waxing etc. I can cope with it on my brows but not my lip.

Asinine · 19/05/2011 19:21

Out of interest, how long between visits?

Al0uiseG · 19/05/2011 19:22

2-3 weeks for me but I'm a yeti bit hairy.

Tigerbomb · 19/05/2011 19:23

£3 in a stall at my local shopping center. It's all screened off so there is some privacy. Always a small queue as well. Takes about 10 mins

WorzselMaamage · 19/05/2011 19:24

£8.50 eyebrows and top lip in a local shopping centre.

BillComptonstrousers · 19/05/2011 19:24

My lady at the brow bar has put her prices up to £13!!! This is just for my brows, need to get my 'tache done next time and my knuckles (hairy ape emoticon) so will cost me a small fortune. This is in the north east by the way! Robbing bastards.

Asinine · 19/05/2011 19:25

So I'm saving at least £80 a year by plucking my own.

I've told dh before that I'm cheap, and that proves it Grin

YankNCock · 19/05/2011 19:26

Dammit, I seem to be paying on the high end. There is a stall in our local shopping centre and I pay £9 for brows and £5 for my 'tashe Blush

I think the price list says full face is £15.

I'm in the North West and not a posh area or anything.

YankNCock · 19/05/2011 19:27

sorry full face is £30! I'm still reeling from whoever said they got full face for £15

SeriousWispaHabit · 19/05/2011 19:27

£10 for eyebrows every 6 months or so to get the shape really good, then do my own lip and eyebrows the rest of the time. Really easy to learn how to do yourself and if you spend a couple of minutes every few days it's never really that painful.

YankNCock · 19/05/2011 19:28

OvO, my eyebrows frequently break the thread Blush, so don't worry too much!

twolittlemonkeys · 19/05/2011 19:30

I paid £10 a couple of times then realised I was being fleeced as all the Asian beauty therapists who work from home do it for £2-£3.50. Leicestershire
