Hi, Have just found this section, think its gonna be my new favourite.

Have been thinking of getting some havaianas but could anyone tell me the difference between these and some of the similar, cheaper ones?

As long as you are only wearing them at the beach.

I wouldn't stand next to anyone in flip flops out and about generally.

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2011 15:23

I have had my Haviannas for nearly 9 years now!!!! I can't believe they are still alive - just. Definately worth the extra as I wear them anytime its sunny enough to and walk everywhere.

porcamiseria · 16/05/2011 15:24

ihate the cold, they did!!!! I left them in the garden and they ate one. bastards

porcamiseria · 16/05/2011 15:28

god this thread has got me pining my flip flops, so I googled them and they are now £27!!!!! bollocks to that :-(

Sorry I need to apologise for my huge underestimate.

I have just weighed my havaianas and they are 5 ounces EACH.

In Brazil they cost the equivalent of about a pound a pair, so the mark-up in the UK is extreme.

I am thinking of getting some for myself but more for my daughter as she gets toe eczema and someone said that these are really comfy and she should be ok with them, will have a look on asos

Dogsby · 16/05/2011 15:53

but they look like moulded turds

monstersX2 · 16/05/2011 15:53

Wow alot of havaiana wearers on here!

Another question then, should i get normal or the "slim" ones? Office had both and loads of designs so might pop in there during the week.

I have these ipanemas

Meglet · 16/05/2011 16:43

Mine were from TK Maxx, £10 (which I think is half price).

LadyInPink · 16/05/2011 16:46

QuickLookBusy Grin at you weighing your Havaianas!!!

I have a silver pair and they go with everything.

QuickLookBusy · 16/05/2011 17:07

Yes Lady I did, because I felt quilty for exaggerating their lightness earlier on.

I decided to find the thruth and nothing but the truth. An extra ounce here and there can make all the difference you knowGrin.

sharbie · 16/05/2011 17:13

mine were only £11.99 meglet that seems to be the price over here in shops.
on the basis of research for this thread i wore mine out to lunch today - they aren't that great they fell off my foot sideways at one point.i have now worn them 3 times in total and they are really dirty, never had this problem with flipflops before - i just had to wet wipe them clean (ish).
not impressed i have to say.

BerryLellow · 16/05/2011 17:36

I bought loads in Australia in 2001 when I was travelling, Most are still going strong, apart from the pair my dog ate, ffs. I have a coral pair on now, and wear them nearly every day in warm weather. DS1 now lives in his too.

superv1xen · 16/05/2011 17:48

i LOVE mine. bought mine 2 years ago and they still look the same as when i bought them. and they are much comfier than normal flip flops. definitely worth the extra money.

MrsDrOwenHunt · 16/05/2011 17:54

they are flip flops people!!!

BerryLellow · 16/05/2011 18:02

They are fantastic flip flops. Essential if you live at the beach all summer :)

CoffeeIsMyFriend · 16/05/2011 18:12

I have 4 pairs of Havis, 1 x black, 1 x green, 1 x pink and 1 pair of slims in shiny pink with a 'diamond' crystal on the slim strap. I have had the black ones for about 6 years now and have worn them EVERY summer.

I love them, but the originals are more comfy than the slims.

I also have birkenstocks - v comfy and cheapo flipslops - not v comfy.

Oh and as for fitflops - cant wear them at all.

AnyFucker · 16/05/2011 18:17

not just flip flops...these are havaianer flip flops ... Smile

BooBooGlass · 16/05/2011 18:22

I find Reef so much comfier tbh. But all are overpriced. I'm wearifn Havianas now as I was convinced to change my allegiance when I saw how much Reefs were last summer. I'm going back to them this year even if they do cost the best part of thirty quid
