Is this ok for a wedding?

here

It's a posh wedding in a French chateau, all dayer and on until 3am (gulp) Lots of skeletal immaculate French women, but they wear black at weddings don't they? I thought it looked rather chic.

How would I accessorise?

I can't do jersey clancy The reason being is that I'd have to wear some kind of hideous smoothing underwear and we're going to be in the south of France in August. I'll die of excessive sweating :o

I think I'm going to have to move in a different direction, perhaps a floaty maxi, but not empire line, can't do it. Makes me look tooo pregnant!

ClancyCrew · 15/04/2011 15:54

do you like the navy one?

headfairy · 15/04/2011 15:54

The green one's nice, as is the black drapey one, but I thought the general consensus was not to wear black at a wedding. Ditto white?

Not sure about black for a summer wedding, actually I am, I don't think its right.

I have tried on both the dresses above, the second one is much nicer on than it looks in the picture and was thinking both would be good for a summer wedding

ClancyCrew · 15/04/2011 15:56

stop pigging out.
and then youll look good - youa re so gorgemoungous. think thin

headfairy · 15/04/2011 15:56

ok enough about diets I know. I've lost 2 stone since Christmas, does that help? Bit of a plateau at the moment, but I would like to buy whatever dress I eventually do buy in a size 14. It's not too much to ask is it

OP posts:
ClancyCrew · 15/04/2011 15:57

i think you are thinner than that skockign pic makes you look

headfairy · 15/04/2011 15:58

Rookie, if they did that dress in a dark green or a bright red I'd be there in a shot, but I can't do those nude colours. They totally wash me out. Not sure about the diagonal stripe dress, I think they add inches too don't they?

I'm going to be spending lunch breaks for the next couple of months trying on dresses, always good for a diet!

I'm a 16 clancy, soooo close to being 14 it hurts (esp when I spent too long buying size 20 clothes!)

ClancyCrew · 15/04/2011 16:01

dresses are an arse though, i rarely find one that fits or looks good

maybe consider separates something with a faint shimmer for the french sunshine?

rookiemater · 15/04/2011 16:03

Ah ok I have clicked on your pictures, beautifulchildren btw, and see your colouring. What's the story with that red dress, its gorgeous and teh colour really suits you.

Oh and can I recommend the marvellous paul Mckenna if you want to lose some weight - you look fab anyway, so much less troubling than having to diet.

headfairy · 15/04/2011 16:06

Rookie, the red dress is a version of the one I linked to in my op... I thought it looked nice, but tried it on this lunchtime and I think it comes up too short. I'm 5'10" so most dresses come up short on me, and I've got lots of scars on my knees I'd rather not expose too much. None too pretty. Anways... I quite like the colour, having been adamant that nothing suits me apart from dark green, gunmetal grey or black.

Thanks for the comment about the dcs Blush

I have a horrible suspicion I might be too cynical for Paul McKenna. How many calories does a use up? :o
