Coincidence - this morning I had a little look at my feet to see if I needed to book the chiropodist again - and thought of mn!

I went last year and there was a lot of paring.

MikeRotch · 04/04/2011 16:50

lol at intervention

BettyGrable · 04/04/2011 16:51

Not brave enough to let little piranha things at my feet. But had my first (normal) pedi in months at the weekend. I felt ashamed of my feet. Ashamed. They were horned, they were hoofs and they were fucking hideous. Looking a lot better now, but will need to be doing it fortnightly now to keep the honed hooves at bay.

GetOrfMoiLand · 04/04/2011 16:53

I said this on OP's last manky feet thread and I will say it again.

What the hell do you lot do to your feet to get them so scaly?

I don't have to grate my feet

I do shave my toes, mind.

Chandon · 04/04/2011 17:01

I have hammer toes, ahd them since I was small. DC have them, must eb a genetic thing.

As a result I have hard skin (corns?! shudder) on the affected toes.

I feel this is so vile, my feet are beyond redemption.

have never tried a chiropodist, am worried they will:

  • make my feet bleed
  • recoil in disgust
Sad

(On a positive note: "Our Foot Fairy tale":
I always HATED my feet and wenjt to great lengths to keep them hidden from friends and lovers. Then Eddie Murphy came out with this film about women with ugly feet, and how much he hates them (did I dream this????!!! Surely not). I creid after this film. So it has always been a massive thing to me. When I met DH, he did not seem to notice my feet at all. Then one day, I noticed his feet. Shock they were worse than mine! And we lived happily ever after, our two little mini ogres DC sadly, have the same feet in the making as well)

MikeRotch · 04/04/2011 17:02

ooh no chirops will love you

OP posts:
jamaisjedors · 04/04/2011 17:08

not beyond redemption.

Come on, think of all those old ladies - your feet can't be worse than that - the chiropodists SO have seen worse!

Do you wear boots all summer?

PortBlackSandwitch · 04/04/2011 17:10

Last autumn my wheely thing i used to buff the hairs off my legs was dying...so i thought i'd try it on my feet and see what happened....Shock....three pebble dashed walls later i had the most marvellous smooth feet - broke it in the process though.....

...anything similar out there for this summer???

Some sort of chinook based wheely buffer item would be good....

cornsilkily · 04/04/2011 17:12

so what do you ask for at the chiropodist then? Do you have to warn them so that they get the power tools charged up?

bibbitybobbityhat · 04/04/2011 17:12

Ye Gods.

I may be fat and I may have two pairs of linen trousers (Monsoon) and a White Stuff necklace.

But I am blessed with naturally showroom condition hooves and NO need for a ped egg, a hardskin shaver, flexitol or 50 threads about feet.

Thanks all the same.

Grin bibbity

Yes, I may have a long nose and hair which goes frizzy at the first sign of rain, but thank christ I can wear flip flops in the summer without first attacking them with Black and Decker power tools.

PortBlackSandwitch · 04/04/2011 17:24

oooh that looks good shine - was worried i might need this

cybbo · 04/04/2011 17:25

shiney thats just a ped egg with a handle

And that annoying Alison yakking on about it in the salon

DarrellRivers · 04/04/2011 17:26

Avoid the fish I reckon
Who knows what might get spread by fish micro teeth.
You can't sterilise them in-between can you?

otchayaniye · 04/04/2011 17:40

shiney thats just a ped egg with a handle@

No. it's a microplane (like the expensive food graters, they also make expensive diy tools) and although I like the pro Microplane one to this one, it's got a different grade of grating edge to the Ped Egg. I have both a Ped Egg and a Pro Microplane and several Diamancels and yes, the Ped Egg is next to useless. The Microplane is effective.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 04/04/2011 18:03

I have just started using thaat Scholl something K or whatever it is called on mine, and have seen an improvement already Smile

Mine aren't too bad really, it's only since I have been at work that it has become a problem, because I am on my feet all day.

cornsilkily · 04/04/2011 18:04

have ordered that QVC thing

bigTillyMint · 04/04/2011 18:06

If you go to the London Aquarium, you can put your fingers in the cleaner shrimps for free. Maybe you could niftily get your foot in there instead?

Very wierd feeling, having your nail area cleaned by shrimps.

WillieWaggledagger · 04/04/2011 18:08

god my feet are horrendous but not because of hornedness. have pustular eczema on my feet (is as vile as it sounds) so have endless blisters to keep on top of

noddyholder · 04/04/2011 18:10

soluble aspirin good for shoddy dry feet and cheap!
