So, assuming that you're like me and that you couldn't move after doing the first 2 days of Evil DVD From Hell, did you just keep going? I want to do it but my muscles are so hurty that isn't it going to damage them if I keep going? I can't even get up the stairs properly, how am I supposed to do more lunges?!

Yes, keep going! (10 months later..!)
It hurt like hell again after my summer holiday last year, and I contemplated taking a painkiller, but didn't, and after the next time, I was fine again.
It's worth it!

MissFoodie · 30/03/2011 12:31

what is this Shred?????????

TooTiredToArgue · 30/03/2011 12:56

Twiglets, I've done day 6 days at level 1 now, and don't ache at all now. The exercises still hurt when I do them, but I'm OK afterwards.

I've heard the jump between level 1 and 2 is really hard, so not particularly looking forward to that. Still, DH thought I'd have given up by now, and I haven't.....

PassTheTwiglets · 30/03/2011 13:15

Reality, stop it - the woman is haunting me!! :)

TooTired, did you ache at first and the ache went away? It just seems like if I d'nt give my muscles a chance to recover then they're not going to stop aching... but I'm hoping that is wrong!

everythingchangeseverything - I must say, I didn't think there was much stretching at the end...

TooTiredToArgue · 30/03/2011 13:27

Yes, I did ache really badly for the first few days. I had Saturday off (started last Wednesday) and it wasn't too bad on Sunday.

I should add that so far I'm only using cans for weights, so that might have something to do with it Smile

mummynoseynora · 30/03/2011 13:29

always stretch more after you have recovered the power of speach / walking at the end - her cool down is a bit pitiful to be fair!

but it DOES get easier and it DOES get results!

MaryPoppoff · 30/03/2011 13:50

I was exactly the same. The first 2 or 3 days were hell but I gritted my teeth and continued and then it got much better. I was able to move after day 4 or 5 without whincing and I was using 5lb weights. Stick with it, it's great!

aurorastargazer · 30/03/2011 13:55

what is this shred????

blossoming · 30/03/2011 13:58

30 Day Shred Workout DVD. From Jillian Michaels, trainer on US Biggest Loser.

SenoraTorres · 30/03/2011 13:58

" Can I just do bicep curls? No you cannot!"

notyummy · 30/03/2011 15:06

In her 'Burn fat Boost Metabolism' DVD she says at one point during some abs work:

'This should be seriously hurting. I mean SERIOUSLY HURTING. If not, email me and I will give you something else to do.'

Grin

Keep going! As Everything says, some extra stretches will help. When you get going and your legs warm up it will feel a bit better.

jenniec79 · 30/03/2011 15:10

just got my weights ready to give it a go and now you're all scaring me!

notyummy · 30/03/2011 15:11

How scary can 20 minutes be Jennie...? Wink

WickedWitchSouthWest · 30/03/2011 15:19

I'm starting level 2 tonight. Eek!

wildfig · 30/03/2011 15:26

It gets easier, honest. I've been doing it on and off since November, and Level 3 holds no fear. There is now, however, a large plaster crack running down the wall of the room I'm doing it in.

MollyMurphy · 30/03/2011 15:44

lol! this video is quite good. I find myself ashamed that I am so tired during the level 1 workout - they seem like such basic moves but ow ow.

Hang in there!

PassTheTwiglets · 30/03/2011 20:58

LOL at your plaster crack, wildfig :o

just laugh at how much she fancies Natalie. Then your abs'll hurt twice as much but you won't care cos it's funny, and the double endorphin release will kill the pain. Especially in Level 2 when Natalie's all bamboozled by the attention and just zones out blankly to the camera in response to a question from Big J.

PassTheTwiglets · 30/03/2011 21:33

LTEC :o I can't imagine ever getting to Level 2 though, so I'll have to take your word for it :)

DON'T PHONE IT IN!

I've had to admit to taking little (ahem) break from JM recently, but jumped back on the wagon last night. And took 2 ibuprofen before going to bed, seemed to help.

I have a wedding to attend in 2 weeks, if I do it every night until the wedding I might not have to wear massive control knickers under my dress....

ConstanceFelicity · 30/03/2011 21:44

I have just ordered it. Before I read this thread. Now I'm scared.

PanicOnTheStreetsOfLondon · 30/03/2011 21:45

I'm on day 8 of level 1 it stops hurting after a while.

I'm actually quite excited about doing level 2 just so I can hear her saying something different.

Can't wait to see her checking Natalie out!!

Thomcat · 30/03/2011 21:48

I did 10 minutes of level 1 and thought - bloody hell, must bring that washing in from the line!

OW!

It really hurt to do the skippy thing.
Think I'm due on, not a good time to start (excuses, excuses!)
