DH and I are not exchanging gifts this year due to the recession, but I secretely covet a gorgeous pair of beautiful diamante drop earrings I have seen in a local shop. T'would be fab with a LBD!

traceybath · 18/11/2010 13:13

A mulberry purse and an Anya Hindmarch clutch bag.

Suspect I will get a diptyque candle though Grin

Maryqueenofchocs · 18/11/2010 13:29

Ooh like the sounds of AH clutch traceybath, which one? although tbh I do have far too many handbags already....Grin

Its this one but as I say I won't get it but always like to add some expensive stuff to my list so DH gets a laugh Wink

HalfTermHero · 18/11/2010 16:38

Great clutch, Tracey!

So far the only S&B items I have on the list are a couple of Marc Jacobs perfumes (I like the Daisy and Lola bottles, both gorgeous smelling and attractive looking bottles).

sweetheart · 18/11/2010 16:52

I have asked dh for the babliss root boost thing and a facial toner machine.

PastaDiva · 18/11/2010 17:15

These lovely boots but not a chance sadly.

Realistically, a new watch but still pondering what sort.

strictlysauvignon · 18/11/2010 17:24

I've got this leather bag on mine..saw it today and have sent wishlist to DH already...Grin

tan bag

BelligerentGhoul · 18/11/2010 17:39

Some Clarins stuff;
a leaf necklace;
a silver cuff;
a grey cashmere jumper.

I think I'll get the first one of these.

Bonsoir · 18/11/2010 17:48

A fur coat
A diamond ring
A macbook

Chances are DP will think technology is more fun than accessories!

brimfull · 18/11/2010 17:53

hmm am still thinking about what to wish for

I usually think of these things in July then forget

Maryqueenofchocs · 18/11/2010 18:24

Bonsoir I want your wish list. sadly my DH would choke. Tracey that bag is worth killing someone for, and Strictly Envy Envy Envy

Bonsoir · 18/11/2010 18:26

Maryqueenofchocs - you have to train your DH not to choke but to understand that taking a girl's wish list seriously makes them much sexier Wink. Took me a while...

Maryqueenofchocs · 18/11/2010 18:37

Ahhhh, bonsoir if only that would work in my house......

tulpe · 18/11/2010 18:41

Maryqueenofchocs, Bonsoir's advice on convincing DHs to gift as per list rather than a cut-price approach is spot on. Works for me every year :o

tulpe · 18/11/2010 18:43

I have no idea what to ask for this year. Which is highly unusual for me. DH already bought me a tummy tuck (and some lovely lingerie to celebrate ;) ) back in July.

I hate indecision though. Come forth S&B lovelies and inspire me!

Bonsoir · 18/11/2010 18:46

Surely if you've got a new tummy you want new winter party dresses to show it off?

tulpe · 18/11/2010 18:49

Actually a dress is a fab idea. Thanks Bonsoir :)

Meggles76 · 18/11/2010 19:56

Bonsoir - I told DH your theory and he said he can live without being sexy!

In these times of austerity I am hoping for the following

Joules necklace
Clinique serum
Chanel perfume
Organic truffles

I did put a new garden conservatory on the list but it won't happen!

Bonsoir · 18/11/2010 20:05

I said train...

Maryqueenofchocs · 18/11/2010 20:07

Instructions please Bonsoir...step by step if you please.

vanitypear · 18/11/2010 20:29

Diamonds Grin have been made to wait long enough! Bracelet and drop earrings. Cannot wait!

Bonsoir · 18/11/2010 20:34

You have to drip feed the idea... you start talking about a friend of a friend whose DH bought them [insert desired luxury item] for birthday/Xmas/whatever and say things like "Of course I know it's terribly extravagant and cost the same as a new car, but, just for a minute, putting aside the expense, it really is lovely." And then, on another occasion, you talk about same woman and her fantastically happy couple/lovely home life etc. You go on in this vein for several years a few months and gradually your DH (quite unconsciously) normalises that kind of present expenditure in the context of a very loving relationship.

That's a super-brief synopsis of technique Grin.

HalfTermHero · 18/11/2010 20:37

Rofl at that, Bonsoir Grin. I very much like your style Smile.

traceybath · 18/11/2010 20:49

You see my guide to getting good gifts from DH is more like this:

  • 'am sorry but where is my christmas present because surely this artificially scented cranberry candle is an amusing joke - ha ha ha' - next year received a very lovely watch Grin
  • birthday this year - 'ha ha ha where is my present though really - oh you haven't had time to get anything - rrrriiight'. 2 weeks later - diamond eternity ring appears.

Am hopeful that this christmas will not involve such distressing scenarios and to be fair last christmas he did surprise me with a mulberry handbag.

And of course we all know its the thought not money that counts but seriously how much thought in a cranberry candle - not even diptyque for goodness sake.

So Anna - fur - real fur and which type? Is fur acceptable in Paris?
