What is on you S&B wishlist for Santa?

Have you something gorgeous on your wish list this xmas, please share, I need inspiration.....

Yes Tulpe - DH is Dutch! I really hate giving lists out so always tell him to surprise me - which he always does - just not always in a good way!!! Before we got married, he was dropping hints about the logistics of my present and I thought I was getting a trip to New York (had been hinting) and he arrived with a new suitcase for me. I then spent the next 10 mins looking in every compartment thinking the tickets would be in there - but no, the present was just a suitcase! In his defence, when he gets it right, he really gets it right!

Have yet to receive a birthday card from him or anyone in his family either - very weird as Dutch shops are full of cards! And I really get irritated by that whole thing of congratulating each member of the family when its someones bday - not just the person whose bday it is! Takes forever going round doing the 3 kisses thing!

Oh yes the 3 kisses thing is so long-winded - takes an age to say hello or goodbye. I have never got used to the phone call from FiL to congratulate me on DCs birthdays! We are often at FiLs house for DHs birthday and I cannot bring myself to congratulate him on his sons birthday. Just seems odd!

Sincerely hope your gift this year is a vast improvement on the hose and suitcase! Will Sinterklaas be bringing you anything on pakjesavond?

Yes - but I have brought it myself (wise)- a blue cable knit scarf and gloves! Last year my mad SIL got me 2 Dutch magazines - one on the Dutch Royal Family - even tho I don't read Dutch! This follows a plastic bike seat cover the year before - an oscar winning reaction from me (oh, how lovely etc etc) but inside I was just thinking why would you give this?!!! (Its not that she doesn't like me - honest - but that she is incredibly tight!)

Sorry for thread hyjack but sometimes its nice to vent about Dutch relatives! As you were.....
