  1. Don't like. Too sacklike plus the racer back is a no for me (plus tricky for bras).
  1. Too casual. Looks like a day dress.
  1. Really nice and looks like it would be v flattering. If I had to find flaw I'd say maybe a wee bit boring.
  1. Ok but a lot going on and wish it was a nicer colour.

I have to admit I don't like colour palette of 1, 2 and 4. Grey is imo too drab for a party dress.

SixtyFootGhooool · 28/10/2010 15:09

1 and 3 best

CristinaTheAstonishing · 28/10/2010 15:11

3 is v nice.

zombishambles · 28/10/2010 15:12

Yes I know they are a bit drab but am too old for buying dresses that I cant wear to work as well and number 4 would do both for me.

Do you not think number 1 would be quite clingy around the bum and not sacklike?

I could just wear an old anglomania number but am hankering to go out and buy summat else.

IMO - 3 is the only one worth consideration

spookyhalloweenFluffypomkins · 28/10/2010 15:14

I like 3 the best!

overmydeadbody · 28/10/2010 15:15
  1. Looks like a Saudi Abaya with the sleeves cut off
  1. Nice. I like it. Day dress?
  1. Nice.
  1. No. I don't like it but I dare say it would look good on the right person.

Are you shying away from colour?

zombishambles · 28/10/2010 15:15

3 is nice but is almost a copy of the dress Ialready have but in a better colour for parties - ie not a blue/brown tribal print.

Do you think it would cling too much around the tummy area?

OP posts:
juneybean · 28/10/2010 15:17

I like number 3! :)

Faaamily · 28/10/2010 15:18

3

bellavita · 28/10/2010 15:19

I like 3.

Oh god, please don't go all uber trendy... > >

zombishambles · 28/10/2010 15:20

overmydeadbody - I normally wear quite a lot of colour but it can make me look a bit like a tranny when I wear bright party frocks. Mind you am channelling witch today so am not sure which is worse...

OP posts:
overmydeadbody · 28/10/2010 15:21

Ah ok.

In that case these colours will probably look good.

Do you not want it to be clingy around the tummy area?

zombishambles · 28/10/2010 15:25

No - am having a bit of trouble with that atm and so the structured one appeals a lot - though everyone seems to hate it and I cant now turn up in a frock that everyone said no to Grin

OP posts:
pickledbabe · 28/10/2010 15:30

I'm sorry, zombi, i don't like any of them for a party - 3 of the 4 are nice for day wear, but none say party for me.

can't you get a plain black shift dress and wear a coloured belt and cardi with it?

pickledbabe · 28/10/2010 15:32

what size/height are you?

pickledbabe · 28/10/2010 15:35

I like this one

pickledbabe · 28/10/2010 15:36

and this one would work for parties and work

traceybath · 28/10/2010 15:37

Definitely 3 - the draping will be very flattering.

The others - well what bunny said Grin

bellavita · 28/10/2010 15:39

I like the Kaliko one.

childrenofthecornsilk · 28/10/2010 15:40

3

bellavita · 28/10/2010 15:40

traceybath is really really stylish ladies... she knows what she is talking about >

dexifehatz · 28/10/2010 15:43

number one is very nice but maybe hard to wear with a bra. you could wear a strapless bra though

zombishambles · 28/10/2010 15:44

The Kaliko is just too bright for me - it is lovely though but needs more edge iyswim.

The mango one is nice and would be great for work - though I dont wear black to work really.

Am 5,7 and size 8. But with tummy issues atm. grr.

I always go downbeat at parties as I have quite big hair and so playing it down with the dress seems to be best - am mid 30s as well so cant wear anything muttonlike...

Am sort of trying for Kate Moss at The Garage. But ugly obviously - HTH [grin}

BunnyLeBOOwski · 28/10/2010 15:46

Does that mean I'm stylish too bella as she's agreed with my opinions??? Grin
