That ooh one is hideous. It's very wife of the chairman of the board.

You're all odd.

I know nothing about fashion btw. I think patchwork looks good. I reek of patchouli.

But that ooh dress is gopping.

zombishambles · 29/10/2010 10:42

Grin arrgh dont say that - do you like any of the others then ye of little help?

OP posts:
pickledbabe · 29/10/2010 10:54

ignore SOH - she doesn't have a clue.

(the other ones that look like the ooh dress do look like cheap versions and do not look half as good, so beware)

check the store's sizing charts - then you'll be able to tell.
if your hips are bigger, then you might be better going for something fit-and-flared, as you're supposed to go by the bust measurement, and it would mean gapages under the armpits. (that's the problem I have most of)

pickledbabe · 29/10/2010 10:55

like this one

but it's not similar to the styles you've already picked...

pickledbabe · 29/10/2010 10:55

this would work

coffeenut · 29/10/2010 11:00

Zombi dress3 is fab. So much so, that I want it and I think i'm going to order it.

i also quite like the Layla dress [http://www.allsaints.com/women/dresses/layla-dress/midnight/wdg038-274]]

Agree that the ooh dress is very ... wife of the chairman of the board. Well put SOBS.

coffeenut · 29/10/2010 11:05

sorry s/midnight/wdg038-274 Layla

coffeenut · 29/10/2010 11:06

argh. Must be Friday.

Try again

Layla

pickledbabe · 29/10/2010 11:07

or this in aubergine

traceybath · 29/10/2010 11:09

Showofhands is right.

Honestly - you are young and tall and slim - do not hide it in frumpsville clothes.

Still like the two I linked to best Wink

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 29/10/2010 11:14

I didn't look at any of the other links as I'm a fashion pariah. But I've looked at tracey's links cos I like her and the first one she linked would suit your proportions. It's like a modern Morticia Adams outfit. And I mean that in a good way.

coffeenut · 29/10/2010 11:14

Traceybath's temperley dress is lovely too.

(Sorry but I think the phase 8 one is frumpy in my opinion - don't think the draping would sit well - but i often find Phase 8 looks baggy and saggy on me so may be biased!)

zombishambles · 29/10/2010 12:44

You see I see 50s siren and not wife of chairman etc - or maybe I see myself as Chairman of the Board Grin.

Am very much into tight pencil skirts at the moment so wont do anything non-vampish.

sigh where is my nearest all saints anyway (am in Hoxton at work) - will go google...

I actually bought this dress from warehouse the other day - bit more basic but def not frumpy:

www.warehouse.co.uk/lace-midi-dress/Gothic-Dandy/warehouse/fcp-product/302014

Might be nothing like what you are after but looks quite nice on!

Also I was going to order that tristin dress (dress 3) but then saw this pic of it and it put me off: www.asos.com/Allsaints/All-Saints-Embellished-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1226188&SearchQuery=allsaints&Rf-700=1000&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=WashedBlack. I think it's the same one.

zombishambles · 29/10/2010 13:15

hmm the only thing about the tristan dress there is that its too short for me really - I definately couldnt wear it without my legs being covered.

bananapeanutbutter · 29/10/2010 15:19

Not dissimilar from the All Saints one but longer and looks better quality.

zombishambles · 29/10/2010 15:37

Thats nice banana but I havent got enough norkage for it - you'd need to be properly Nigella I think...

I have moved myself over here now.

I had thought about this:
dress 1

dress 2

Or are they both a bad idea?
I am a size 18, 5'8, evenly proportioned hourglass, 38g boobs.

gorehaginhellsbum · 29/10/2010 16:20

1 and 3

GiganGORE · 29/10/2010 18:44

I am currently quite taken with This

I will be wearing with victory rolls and little cardi.

now will i end up looking like a twatt who got lost on teh way to a fancy dress party?

GiganGORE · 29/10/2010 18:46

Serenity the first is very similar to the one i have linked to. great minds Grin

I love the second though there is no way i could get my flab into it.
if you can then go for it.

GiganGORE · 29/10/2010 18:52

how can anyone that wears a size 8 have tummy issues Hmm Envy

traceybath · 29/10/2010 19:05

Gigangore you will look amazing in that dress Smile

zombishambles · 29/10/2010 19:20

Well imagine if you're an 8 and 5 months pg but havent put any weight on elsewhere some days - thats me that is...though am still holding out that I might have a good day that day

I love those 50s dresses btw. My victory rolls always come out like poo. Envy
