Cod - In the catalogue it says available in wide or normal fit. I thought I had ordered normal fit but that is worth checking. Thanks for highlighting it.

codsicle · 10/09/2005 18:08

Cooperoo · 10/09/2005 18:13

Right will give it a shot...

Cooperoo · 10/09/2005 18:47

Can't work out how to resize my photo. Wiil try after x factor which is on here now. Is it on in the UK now too??

Cooperoo · 10/09/2005 20:34

OK, have done photo. Think it has made my mind up . Phew! That was hard work and not really worth it lol.

Cooperoo · 11/09/2005 19:24

Ok, tell me if I am getting boring but what do you think of these? Much more expensive but DH has offered to get part of them as my Christmas present. The calf bits are fitted so I wouldn't have a welly boot problem. Do you think brown or black? I like the brown but think it may be too light a shade.
Look here
Cod, if you have slim calfs too what about having a look at the site?

codsicle · 11/09/2005 19:26

but htink you can find lots fo others more cheaply
did oyu see beetys link tot he fabbo suede marks ones?

aslo what about the other next ones

nutcracker · 11/09/2005 19:27

Oh those are lovely, i'd love a pair in brown.

Cooperoo · 11/09/2005 19:31

Prob I have is that I am in Cyprus so working on mail order (I am with the forces so have a UK address), and I am loathe to order any more that may be too baggy. Don't want suede as I want something rain proof. I checked with Next that they hadn't sent me the wide fitting ones and they haven't so think they will possibly all be baggy on me. I have emailed them to ask a few questions so I will ponder on it a while. Thanks.

I hate shopping here with the dd's (2.5 and 11 weeks) as there are no 'shopping centres' as such locally and the shops aren't buggy friendly. There are lots of shoe shops though so perhaps I should bite the bullet and check them out before spending such alot of money.

Thought I'd revive this thread to see if everyone else is making progress on locating their ideal pair of winter boots.

I've been looking for a pair in leather (not suede), knee high so they can be worn with trousers/jeans or skirts, and low heeled/comfortable so I can walk distances in them. I thought I'd found the perfect pair today. They looked good, felt comfortable, were reasonably priced, available in my size.....and I couldn't get the damn things zipped up. I've got some weight to lose, but never thought of my lower legs as a "problem area" until today!

Anyone found their perfect winter boots, or are we all still looking?

I haven't seen cupcakes' boots. I have trawled back through this thread, but there is no mention/link. Are they on another thread? Would love to take a look.

I've got to sort something out soon, or there won't be anything decent left in my size!

projectmanagerCOd · 09/10/2005 10:21

no ordered sme form next but hteey are pull on wit no zip or stretch and now am thinking can i wait till the sale....

Cooperoo · 09/10/2005 18:11

I got mine like these brown ones on the right and they are brilliant. Expensive but fit perfectly and look much nicer in the flesh than in the pictures. I have probs with baggy boots.

Earlybird · 09/10/2005 21:33

Cooperoo - thanks for the link. There are some nice boots there, and must admit I've never seen a mail order place that asks for calf measurements!

Are their boots available mail order only, or is the line carried anywhere instore?

projectmanagerCOd · 09/10/2005 21:33

coopy you are needed on cypirus thread

Cooperoo · 10/10/2005 10:47

They have a shop in Bath but that is all I think. Sometimes there is a wait for stock too. They are very helpful though if you ring and will advise you on fit as some of the boots fit a bit bigger than others etc. HTH.

crunchie · 10/10/2005 11:19

I like the look of the Duo boots, but can I justify £130 on a pair of boots?? I love the Cadiz I wonder if they have a sale near the end of winter??

I have just bought a pair of stretchy fabric high heels from Tesco £18!! and they fit my FAT calves. I am really harsh on shoes/boots and have had to have the heeled/soled already, but the extra £15 is worth it and they should do for this year.

crunchie · 10/10/2005 17:21

Woohoo I am officially a thread killer I have just killed 2 style threads

Cooperoo · 12/10/2005 05:58

Heehee, I will kill it instead of you. I justified the money as I feel I am buying a style I will wear forever, plus it is my Christmas present and I am just fed up with not finding boots to fit. I am also trying to build up a few good quality staple additions to my wardrobe and so I am investing , before we move back to the UK and really have no money.

twinsetandpearls · 12/10/2005 11:32

There is a sight called Buckles and Bows that do different calf widths as well. Similar price to Duo I think.
