I was talking with some younger (twentysomethings) colleagues today and it turns out that they all have a full wax and think Im a fuddy duddy by not having this procedure. Dont get me wrong, I like to be tidy but isnt this extreme? and, painfull? I dont get it. Considering most of them are single and dating, wouldnt a bloke think it was Christmas if this is what he unvielled on the first night or, am I just old fashioned?

I'm 22 and I wouldn't. The blokes who actively object to the prescence of hair down there are usually tossers IME.

KristinaM · 05/08/2010 00:21

its a trend i am not following

Alouiseg · 05/08/2010 00:24

I'm a trendsetter been having it done for nearly 20 years........I'm 40 btw.

nowherewoman · 05/08/2010 00:48

OMG my minge is out of fashion

gigglewitch · 05/08/2010 01:28

pmsl nowhere

If you wait long enough, the pubes will fall out on their own.

Disclaimer: menopausal, but with pubes.

FellatioNelson · 05/08/2010 10:44

Do they fall out? I'm weeping about finding more and more white ones in mine.

gigglewitch, what's funny about an unfashionable minge? This is serious! I'm off to have all my pubes ripped out by the roots!!

kittya · 05/08/2010 11:40

I know, its vile, isnt it? I tried to explain that a bloke of my generation (forties) would, indeed think it was Christmas but, apparently, the lads today dont bat an eyelid!! they all say they do it for themselves because its hygienic but I dont buy that, not for a minute.

Does it really fall out during menopause? I havent found any greys. Yet.

Why's it vile? I shave mine. Everything off. It's easier than trying to get it a nice symmetrical shape, doesn't itch when it grows back and is far more hygenic and comfortable in hot weather. I don't care whether my husband likes it or not - although I've a suspicion he does.

kittya · 05/08/2010 11:49

they get it waxed though, is the pain worth it?? My friend teaches beauty therapy and, although she has a very neat bush, all her students have the full thing off some of these girls are 17. Whats going on. She herself finds it quite disturbing.

So, if you were in a new relationship and about to sleep with them would you tell them before hand?

It's only 'porn' in the UK. In other countries it's normal and no different to shaving your armpits. And pubic hair isn't unhygenic, it's just easier to keep clean and fresh without any - same as your armpits (again)!

Besides, most of the porn I've seen they always had a strip in the middle anyway. Disclaimer: I live in Holland. It's on the TV. You get to see it when you're channel hopping or watching anything with adverts late at night.

Aitch · 05/08/2010 11:52

subtext being that the baroness has a smelly minge.

kittya · 05/08/2010 11:54

we hardly live in the tropics! its not like we live in swimwear.

I get terrible rashes from shaving so it would be a no no for me. i cant see it wuld look attractive to anyone.

It is a generational thing.

I worked with a group of youngsters once (lol at myself and the non-ironic use of the word youngsters) and they all had hollywoods.

Sod that for a game of soldiers.

Im finding it very unsettling. Some of they only look twelve as it is. Goodness, the obs and gynae dept must see some sights these days. Remember when everyone protested about having to be shaved pre delivery? how times change!!!

What I really want to know though, is would you mention it to your new bloke?? you see at my age I would be mortified. i dont think I could get naked until it had grown back!
