Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

Please join me ladies. Don't want to be too sad and lonely on a Friday night.......

OP posts:
carciofi · 04/08/2010 19:26

Well done Plum!

Dolcee, just found a La Redoute code for 30% off, 5461.

Cool outfit, NY, have fun.

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2010 19:31

It's weird when the DHL deliveries stop coming every day, and then there's nothing .

Hmmm I don't even know what to get. What are people thinking about getting for AW?

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 19:36

Marsha - I feel the same. At the moment I'm trying to find the perfect boots & coat!

Well - just had a stalk of some of my new FB friends and wow (apart from a few cheeky ones that have a lot of pics of DC only...so no stalking possible!).

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 19:37

err - lost half my post...but was going to say how gorgeous you all were.

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2010 19:40

I might have to join this facebook to see what you all look like Quid pro quo of course.

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2010 19:45

Hells what sort of boots and coat would you like?

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 19:48

Yes do Marsha!

Boots - I do need some black bikers to replace my worn out pair. Coat wise I really don't know...ready to be inspired.

traceybath · 04/08/2010 19:52

I want some black biker boots too with about a 2 inch heel though or otherwise I will look too stumpy.

Am also hankering after a navy peacoat or princess style coat.

And some black patent court shoes - Jimmy Choo-like but not that price.

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2010 19:56

yy to a peacoat and to something brilliantly patent.

Hells you've probably seen these. Bit expensive.

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 20:00

yes Marsha - those are good! Possibly a bit rigid! Sounds bizzare but I had a pair last year that were slightly slouchy and they were perfect.

Tracey - forgot - peacoat is the thing isn't it?! Burberry Prosum apparently are doing an amazing one but it's £££££££

Right have to go and get stuff done.

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 20:07

Dolce - thanks for the suggestion. Something snug sounds really lovely for all the night waking I will be doing. We live in a flat w central heating and DH likes it toasty, but there are some times when you need the comfort - like a sartorial hug, for when you are tired and its cold outside and you are struggling w a new baby. Oh dear - don't I make it sound bliss! Yes, think that nanny will be absolutely essential! Am friends w you on FB now, and can't see you - you only have photos of your DCs! Who are beautiful little ones, aren't they?!

Tracey - I have a fuschia princess coat and love it and really want a black pea coat (think will be asap post-babies arriving). I wanted a black pea coat last winter and couldn't find one. I found one a few months ago, but obv can't wear right now. I always get my riding boots w a slight heel, too (2" sounds about right). Someone told me that that height is actually more comfortable than flat. I nodded wisely in agreement (but am big liar as it was all about how much better it looks on me).

Plum - congratulations, am delighted for you! What a terrific thing to win - imagine you and your family will really enjoy the glama-tent!

Cakey - dare I cross my fingers for you and your holiday? The inconsistency would drive me mad too - am far too rigid organised for such shenanigans not to drive me spare!

Welcome Olivia - ooh, the back catalogue of W&A - that's a hefty tome you are working your way through!

Bloss - may have to try those M&S pumps on - they look great. Am dreading the awful late-pregnancy Shrek feet I had last time and think I will again, but nice flats will be just the thing to enjoy post-babies!

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 20:11

Does anyone like [[http://www.teds-shed.com/products-Women's-breton-boot-in-tan_TB923.htm these Ted Baker tan breton boots]? Or if you want something more giddyup how about these high shine Ted Baker black riding boots?

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 20:24

cautious optimism ... it looks like we are go. Not enough time to do the drive thing, so will be one week of hol and flying rather than 2 weeks and road trip but hey ho. OMG. Need to go on a diet and step up the shredding. How much weight can I reasonably lose in 25 days? Baby L down to one feed a day now, if he drops that then that might ditch a couple of pounds?

This must be my good karma for a) sending a top of mine to a friend who borrowed and loved it, even though she trashed the jeans that I let her borrow and b) not putting my foot down in an anti-JO stamp and allowing Ms P her choice of birthday dinner at his restaurant.

so do I buy the Tibi?? Or would that ruin my karma??

worst SS10 buy:
purple and white stripe maxi from H&M. I love it and it was a bargainous £7.99 but ludicrously long. Have had it taken up twice, at £7 a time. And then have never worn as have realised is somewhat see-through. Maybe on hols, eh?
DKNY Breton tank knit - haven't worn it much, just don't love the Breton thing enough I think.

Welcome Olivia how lovely to have a new delurker, it's been a while!!

Plum massive congrats, that's fab!! you will have to use at the caravan park you asked about on FB, it's the Atlantic Coast in Hayle btw

have fun tonight NY, thanks for the HH game! and how was your night last night eie?

lusting after for AW: um. Got my Belstaffs, so I guess just a nice-ish coat. Not willing to spend mega bucks as this is my last ever 'real' winter so am deffo scouring the 2nd hand shops, where I generally tend to do quite well. BTW MM you def need to ebay that MaxMara number, would replenish PP acct nicely methinks!!

meeting with LA next week to hammer out details, more outfits planning req'd .... does anyone who saw the pic of the black and pink floral Leona dress with the wide black belt (on blog) think that would be good?

traceybath · 04/08/2010 20:24

Bunny - I was at dentists yesterday with DS and there was the tiniest newborn there. Oh my - sooo gorgeous - I do just love babies and you're going to have two of them all snuggled up in their little cot

Right - keep me away from the school run thread before I combust

Oh and DH phoned me earlier and he never phones me in the day so knew something was afoot. And yes - he's going to the pyrenees for a week in september with mates - cycling. Ho hum - I don't mind really but one day - my time will come and I'll be off to NY for a week leaving him in charge.

So anyway have decided to buy the MJ bag as recommended and loved by LTEC and Hells as an early birthday present

Oh and epilator update - well it does sting a bit but results are good so will persevere with it.

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 20:28

have also been meaning to say well done Whelk on super run time! Big hearty back-slaps.

And missing esher quite pathetically. OUr RL friend in common stayed with us on the w'end and I got quite a yearning for one of her hilarious posts, just talking about her

traceybath · 04/08/2010 20:30

Right just reading back and think that either the 9th or 16th October were popular for a meet-up.

Think the suggestion was lunch and a little shopping this time.

So which of those dates are good for people or neither?

Fel1x · 04/08/2010 21:09

Evening.
Had a read of the school run thread and it made me want a pea coat! Must start searching
plum, how fab winning that tent!
I have an unexpected free day next week. Mil is taking both boys out and I have the whole day to myself. I think it's the first time I will have a day to myself for no reason in years. Think I will go shopping!

I'd love to come to the next meet up. I missed the last one. 16th oct would be better for me if poss.

Zembo · 04/08/2010 21:15

Evening ladies! Seems to have been lots going on (must reduce hours at work in order to keep up)

Tracey you asked about the hair removal - I had Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)treatments about 7 years ago. It was a bit uncomfortable but has been truly life changing. It did cost a good few grand though and I needed a lot of sessions - must have been at it for the best part of a year (all a bit hazy now). I'm thinking about more IPL for my skin now but haven't looked into it properly yet.

Cake fab fab news re: hols. You already look so slim - I know you'll tell us you have a big arse blah blah, BUT whatever it is that's big, you're superb at concealing it and managing to look model-like skinny instead.

What's this MJ bag you're all buying? wondering if I need it too

Dolcee & Bunny I've got that WC velvety chocolate robe too, its lovely.

Tracey I've also been thinking about some UGGs for indoor winter use.

Bunny twin girls = gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous i.e. a hat-trick

Plum love the tent, well done!

Can't remember what else I wanted to say.

mrsjuan · 04/08/2010 21:19

oh gosh - meet up - I could potentially do either of those dates but would be a nervous wreck.

Bunny - I am a bit of a horsey wannabee too so like both those boots - libra's m&s ones are nice too.

Cake - hope you are joking about more dieting -you will be living on thin air

Plum - what a lovely tent - lucky you.

Olivia - welcome - I love your name! Enjoy catching up.

blossoming · 04/08/2010 21:55

Ooh, the dress has been ordered!! Now will I wear it on the school run?!
Those October dates are good for me too traceybath.

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 22:02

d'you know, I've been going over and over this in my head and I honestly don't know whether I could do another meet-up! the last one was so lovely that part of me thinks "let well enough alone" and the other part remembers the angst in the lead -up and thinks "why put yourself through that again??"

It's kind of the same way that I feel about having another baby!

dh home from a Maybelline shoot, pocketful of goodies.

fel1x how lovely! enjoy your day off

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 22:02

oh, hurrah bloss!! ditto tracey on the pink MJ bag

one more glass of vino and I may have to order the Tibi.

mrsjuan · 04/08/2010 22:32

Cake - some nice tibi dresses on sale on cocosa: this would look nice on you

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 05/08/2010 07:26

bunny thanks for that Ted Baker link, didn't know they did an outlet store, I have just ordered this talk about thinking ahead!

marsha lovely jimmy choo boots, I am looking for that but in a battered grey colour and under £100!!!

monkeysmama if you do ebay that camel coat let me know as I would be interested in having a look at it.

notyummy I LOVE that dress you are wearing, bet you looked fabulous.

bloss if I wore bare feet with pumps they would terrify a skunk in about 2 wears! Did you order the dress?

Plum congratulations on the win! Your version of camping with fairy lights and cushions sounds fantastic!

carciofi didn't mean to sound like I was dissing your choice of nappy bag, sorry, just meant to say I hate it because it reminds me of bad times. As a nappy bag it's perfectly functional and wipe clean.

LTEC did you succumb to the dress, those colours would look fabulous on your skin tone.

Love this but I can't do cropped

Does anyone here have a pink lining nappy bag, there is a thread somewhere on here SINGING the praises and I JUST DONT GET IT, they are horrible, seriously what is it about having a baby that would make you want to carry one of those around. (hopes she hasn't just insulted half of A&W)

Am off to investigate this lovely White Company velour hooded robe in chocolate which you are raving around, I am considering one of Hushs cardigowns as well.

trousers: whatever I can fit into post baby so probably baggy boyfriend jeans until post Christmas, I don't wear trousers usually.

worst spring/summer buy: ordered a pair of leggings from Isabella Oliver which were a little baggy (and long!) but I thought they would do, then realised they wouldn't do, luckily 2 days before the 30 days were up so I returned them, hopefully, just in time. I also bought 2 tops in asos when I was newly pregnant which I thought would go with leggings and boots but a) can't find any maternity leggings I like and b) not really the weather.

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 07:54

bunny I quite like the glossy black boots, not so keen on the brown

libra remind me of what you;re after in a change bag?? Have you checked out the Oushka Phoenix, I found it very good last winter - sturdy enough, zip closure, lots of pockets etc.

have not bought a Tibi dress, love the one MrsJ linked to. But flights are booked and Tuscany here we come. Romana we'll be there from 29th - it's Livorno I think? will you be around?
