carciofi would you be able to email me at wise underscore and underscore avid at yahoo dot co dot uk

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 12:55

meant to say Cake - the Tibi dress was in my basket - I've decided my legs aren't up to it...but yours are sure to be. Have you bought it?

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 12:58

not yet - I don't have good legs though - maybe I shouldn't bother. If I don't buy something soon am going to implode though ...

omg. How slim are you??!!! your pics are amazing. Am not keen on attending next meet up at all.

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 12:59

Hells - I keep reading compliments re you and your family, so wondering if I can "see" you - are we friends on FB? I (unfort) only remember the RL names of those of us at the meet up (although did struggle - at one point was talking to Esher thinking " don't call her Esher, don't call her Esher"). I am friends w a few of the ladies and my initials are BCT.

MM - well done on the job offer!!! Bask in it, don't dismiss/undersell what it means - your are so highly thought of people remember you and come looking for you. Random thought of the day - you might be one of those women who has a lot of sex appeal (separate to beauty, and an indefinable, powerful beast - you have it or you don't)? Other women can usually recognise it, and might explain SIL's hostility (or jealousy if we are speaking plainly) and the other women eyeing you off at the wedding (feeling unease/threatened). Sorry if that is the most inappropriate thing anyone has ever suggested to you!!

notyummy - he he, re middle aged shopping at Country Casuals . I really liked those brown riding boots, too - am a little giddyup in my dress sense in winter. Quite like looking at the hunting/dressage store down the road.

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 13:07

don't be daft cake - I've seen your pics and your legs are gorgeous. I just have 'old legs'. I hate my knees (they knock together in an alarming fashion) but after hiding them for years and years have thrown caution to the wind and aired them (which has increased my wardrobe choices by 100%)! However I am not willing or able to show mottled top thigh. It would be a step too far.

BM - I don't think I have you (and please don't be misinformed by nice comments...they are carefully selected photos. 1500 were discarded )? I'm friends with a few (tracey and cake included) initials HL.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 04/08/2010 13:07

hells I thought animal print was suppose to be a detail such as shoes or belt or scarf (Boden have both shoes and belt, or indeed messenger bag
I think the jacket you linked to is too boxy and would only suit those who are tall and slim (which you might be!)
Not sure if I like it but Boden have a leapard print velvet blazer
Sorry about the heavy boden post but a brochure came with my InStyle this morning and have just been perusing it, 15% off and quite like this is the aubergine, bargain at £84
but have also seen this and again at 15% off am tempted nappy bag - arggh am hopeless case

tracey what is your twitter name?

OWW I can walk in heels, just not fast enough for my liking so I just get exasperated in them hence my no heels rule now.

mrsjuan · 04/08/2010 13:12

Yes I want to see hells too! I will stalk have a look for you if you befriend bunny.

Cake - you do have good legs - you have the gap between them don't you? That counts as good in my books. I'm sure you can find something else lovely though if you're not sure.

Bunny - I only skimmed what you had written and thought you had overloaded on pregnancy hormones and called MM a powerful beast rather than sex appeal. Agree that jealousy is the most likely explanation for hostility.

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 13:13

Oh and Hells - I love that Moschino cropped leopard jacket. Again, if you get it, do come and report how wonderful it is!!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 04/08/2010 13:14

I am also thinking there is a fair amount of body dysmorphia going on in this thread.

mrsjuan · 04/08/2010 13:15

hells - have requested you - I am J O

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 13:15

oh I dunno ... with no holiday happening seems a bit daft to buy, really.

hells meant to say, am so pleased you got the pink MJ bag!!

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 13:16

LOL body dysmorphia libra

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 13:18

MrsJ - I found Hells (have added you), but her name isn't Helen - shock, horror! Oh God, just thought when I skimmed your post that I had called her that, lets hope MM reads it the right way!

Hells - my legs are a good shape, but seriously let down by spider veins and sun damage. Once had the babies, will look into getting that sorted. But the bugger of it is, once babies are born won't have any cash as getting a nanny. Oh dear. Thank the lord this climate calls for much wearing of opaque stockings!

LetThemEatCake · 04/08/2010 13:20

bunny do you plan to come home at some point??

Yes mrsJ I have the gap but not large enough, iyswim.

OllieWollieWoo · 04/08/2010 13:21

So, it turns out I am a summer (in terms of having colours done - not in terms of personality!). Quite pleased as blues are v good with my skin tone - esp denium/greyblue/petrol/marine blues, and also greys so no need for a massive wardrobe overhaul! There was also a raspberry red scarf & a taupe which really stood out as being a good colours on me - like the idea of taupe as never really tried it before and liked what I saw in the mirror! She was here for 2.5 hours - very relaxed and v helplful! Even let me pull a few things out of my wardrobe to show her (huge relief that the expensive dress DH brought me for the wedding in Oct was spot on colour wise!). She did stress that I shouldn't stop wearing other colours if I liked them and felt good in them!

Would def recommend having colours done Libra! Am now getting her back to do a style & wardrobe workshop with me - and now I can de-clutter my wardrobe with confidence!!!

She looked amazing - had on a long black cape with a hood and a zip which she said was from H&M (not on website), short black shorts with tights, teal coloured fitted silk blouse and black boots a bit like these ones:here - second page brown with laces and a turnover top. She just looked really put together which made me feel confident in what she was doing if that makes sense! Oh yes, and she showed me a gorgeous pair of Tom Ford sunglasses in dark grey she had just brought! Felt like directing her to this thread - she would fit right in!

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 13:21

Libra - love the slouchy Boden bag. Although that lining, hmmm.

Tracey is tweeting? Wow - now that is modern!!

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 13:23

bunny - I'm the same. I hate spider veins and will get them sorted eventually. I also have some horrid green veins on the back of my knees too. Not varicose as I've had them forever but very ugly.

Cake - I'm thrilled with the bag - it just arrived. It's such a gorgeous colour.

oh...lots of new friends on FB! can't log in to FB right now (at work) but have confirmed.

Right better go do some work.

hellsbelles · 04/08/2010 13:24

sorry - also meant ot say thanks for the links Libras - will check them out when home!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 04/08/2010 13:27

OWW who did you use? Glad it went well

bunny agree over boden linings but for that price could be willing to overlook, especially as a la mrsjuan I am likely to get gunk all over it anyway!

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 13:34

Libra - yes, my linings rarely stay as they were when I got them. And it is a good price. Am waiting for my TK Maxx bags, but think they couldn't poss be any good as so inexpensive. Will wait and see...

Hells - we might have matching legs, it sounds. Annoying, isn't it?!

Cakey - well, we will come home eventually, but visits are now extremely unlikely (too hard, too expensive). The local state primary school here is Ofsted outstanding, so hoping to send DD (and then DTDs) there, which would be key to us staying. Minimum time would be until we get our UK passports, probable maximum time is when its time for DD to go to secondary school (prob go private in Sydney). So, really, we don't know when but we do expect to go home at some point. Can you believe DH doesn't feel even the slightest twinge of homesickness??

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2010 13:38

Hey folks just a quick one to say MM I was very impressed by the tracking and job offer too. (as an aside sometimes it's nice to know that work is there even if it's the last thing one feels like doing). I'd have a little celebration.

Ltec I love that Tibi dress too. But fear the shortness could be irritating (a few more inches designers!). Could be good on.

OWW well done on colours. What are you like? (blonde etc). Wondering if I am the same.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 04/08/2010 13:38

bunny ohh meant to say I had liked your tk maxx bags, will be interested to see what you say about htem.

bunnymother · 04/08/2010 13:38

Oh, just became friends w Hells on FB. I see what you all mean. Serious under-selling been going on - we have been had!

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2010 13:40

O man I need to see Hells! Knew you would be stunning.

OllieWollieWoo · 04/08/2010 13:41

I have legs like that too Hells! I used to sit and read the adverts on the tube re thread removal and wish I'd get them done! Mine are so bad on my lower legs they look like bruises! Have requested you on FB (I hope)!

Libra - I used an independent consultant - rec by a friend.

Just had twin sister on the phone in tears - a neighbour's son has told her DS who is just 5 that Father Christmas is not real!
