As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

HeHe crisp has a bad dose of shinyitis! But don't worry, it should pass in a few months Grin

crispandfruity · 10/03/2015 20:49

I had an idle dream this afternoon about opening my own vape cafe, a bit like central perk in friends!!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 10/03/2015 21:31

I've posted this on the Vaping News Thread but I'm posting it here too because it's brilliant and I don't want anybody to miss it Smile

Public health experts talking sense about e-cigarettes and vaping

Took delivery of some Obsession Passion juice. Strawberry and custard flavour. OH. MY. GOD. I now have 4 batteries, several different tanks and kanger coils. Plus I know all about sub ohming. Smoking was never this much fun.

Mrsstevejones · 12/03/2015 18:38

Started vaping in dec and love it. I saw a thread pop up on active and just had a browse. About a week later i saw a starter kit on offer in a newsagents and just went for it. Vapouriz - £20 with a bottle of liquid. Still love my orginal kit.

Didnt miss fags at all, even when very tipsy at xmas. For some unknown reason i had a proper fag the other day and nearly coughed up a lung - wont be doing that again! and by god it stinks.

I love vaping but do want to give up, whilst i understand its a millions miles better than evil fags i still think inhaling anything cant be healthy.
I am cutting down to 12% liquid. Currently i am battling my blubber so one fight at a time. I am trying to not vape until later in the day etc but not in a massive rush.

I had a lot of help and advice at the start from you guys so thanks everyone x

Well done to all new vapers!

And I agree with Polter about not getting a great urge to vape. Can go for hours without thinking about it.

Megan - pleased you found my local shop - they are lovely in there.

Yes to a Brighton meet up - I will start a new thread about it later today.

I've been in France for the last week or so, visiting DS, DIL & soon to be precious first grandchild (due in May).

I didn't see as many people vaping as I do here in UK but even a very small town, local to DS, had a vape shop. Sadly it was closed when I went past but on the way home we stopped in Dijon for a couple of nights & I went into one of the two vape shops I found there.

Lovely guy who ran it & (stretching my French to its limits) had a long chat with him about vaping. He said the vast majority of vapers in France are over 45 & have been smoking for a long time, have awful coughs & have gone for vaping for health reasons more than cash reasons (Fags are much cheaper in France).

Lots of tobacco flavours sold there, probably at least 18 different versions & a couple of menthol ones.

The rest of the flavours were all fruit & just a single fruit & probably about 20 of them.

Nothing like rhubarb & custard, bubble gum, cinnamon or any of the other more 'outlandish' flavours.

Kit very similar, but at least 15% more expensive, even allowing for the exchange rate.

I was amazed at how many people still smoke in France - far more than in the UK, especially amongst the uner 30's.

I think the French smoking laws are significantly less restrictive than those in the UK, which may have something to do with it?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 13/03/2015 20:05

I thought they had the same laws as us but were just better at ignoring them Grin

Well done Mrssteve, that's brilliant! Flowers

crisp - I had an idle dream this afternoon about opening my own vape cafe, a bit like central perk in friends!!

I've had that idle daydream a few times too Grin Mine would serve a really good greasy-spoon menu and a range of quality ales and gins.

I've started a thread for a vapers' meet, in Brighton.

EVERYONE is welcome, doesn't matter how long you've vaped, or even if you don't vape. The more the merrier!

Morning Vapers, May I join?

I bought an ego something or other about 6 months ago, used it and cut down my 20 a day to 3-4 a day but to be honest it tasted crap. Burnt taste, no flavour, bubbling and leaking messy problems and I just couldn't get on with it eventually it sat on the side doing nothing and I went back to smoking 20 a day. Last week I paid just shy of £20 for a pouch of baccy which pissed me off no end and I'd had enough. So that evening I watched and read a load of reviews then bought myself an Aspire premium kit. Its beautiful, playing around with the voltage and the air flow holes clearly helps with the taste both of which I thought were features for the advanced user. Tastes delish, looks and feels loads better than that thing I bought months ago. I like the look of that rainbow spinner too, but need to get over my first bout of shinitus first

My new vape arrived thursday, I had 6 cigs that day. Yesterday I had 1 cig and today I've had none (so far). I don't want one (yet) but, so far I know I'd rather be tasting Raspberry Coconut Ice than another cig.

I visited my local vape shop yesterday and the owner said it would cost £100 for a decent kit. Its DiaryofAWimpyMum btw, he was showing me some tanks but no way have I got £100 just now so will have to stick with the horrible little EVOD for a while longer.

I got some lovely bubblegum flavour though. I asked about the Aspire Nautlis but he doesn't have that one. Sad

Thanks for the links Polter I think when I have the money I will buy online when I mentioned the istick he said it's voltage wasn't as high as his etc etc I will keep those links, thanks again.

ArseForElbow · 14/03/2015 13:05

Ive bookmarked both those pages Smile

Mrsstevejones · 14/03/2015 13:07

I am very pleased and its all down to you guys. It all seemed so complex when i started but actually its quite simple now i have my head around it. I had loads of advice and reading through the threads really helped so if you are considering it - just do it, i wish i had done it years ago!

I stumbled across a vaping shop ( well corner of a shop) yesterday they stock liquids quite cheaply and have loads of flavours - has anyone heard of prestige liquids? Also they sold premium liquid- brand kiki from the states. I tried a whole host of flavours inc lemon grass - amazing, tutti fruiti and cola.

They also stocked loads of kit and it was great to be able to chat to someone about it. My next mission is to persuade my mother to make the change. I bought her a vapouriz kit for xmas but she said the liquid made her cough which is ironic as she is a 40 a day B&H kinda gal! and coughs all the time anyway!

I had only sent her one liquid a 2.4% in strawberry, i intend to take her to the shop to try a few bits but do you guys have any suggestions as i know liquids come in different formulations and i wasnt sure if there was something that might be better suited to her?

TIA

Thanks Polter. Smile

crispandfruity · 15/03/2015 12:00

Went for lunch with the in laws yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I saw that bil had a spinner! We had a very lengthy vape chat and compared juices.

MeganChips · 15/03/2015 16:53

Mrsstevejones my mother says the same. How smoking 15 JPS a day doesn't I'll never know! I've never had that problem.

I am still having a problem with the nautilus being flavourless though despite different coils.

I visited a vape shop today to get more juice and it appears I have a case of vaper's tongue. I have come away with a strong coffee flavour and instructions to drink more water.

My istick was dispatched on Friday Smile

I've signed up to the Brighton meet thread magi. This will be my first Mumsnet meet even though I've done them on other forums. I'm really looking forward to it.

crispandfruity · 15/03/2015 20:02

2 weeks fag free but tonight I could tear someone's arm off for a cigarette. No reason or anything, I just have the urge. Am chuffing like a mad woman!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 15/03/2015 20:20

Well done crisp! 2 weeks - you really have cracked it, despite how you're feeling. Probably if you tried a fag now it would taste rank.

Keep chuffing as much as you need and if you have any liquid that's the next strength up, go for it. Also, try a different flavour if you have one, that can help a lot.
