I hate that Christmas comes with another layer when it comes to blended family. DSC are annoyed coz I said the week before Xmas is a bit late to have tree put up so we'll put it up week before and leave their decorations to put on when they are here. They moan about it anyway so it will just make the whole thing easier.

Ok you have given them an option! If they don't like either then do it when you want. The overthinking as a stepmum is awful. You can't please everyone so if you've tried (which you have) then please yourself or the resentment will build!

How did they know you were going to put it up.
Now you know not to mention it. And just do it to suit you.

This sort of thing is a pain in the ass every year! I wanted to put my tree up this weekend... wasn't without a comment from my other half but we ended up getting SD a little Christmas tree for her room that she can decorate
