What do step kids call you?

I'm dating a guy who is a single Dad, if all continues to go well I'll soon be meeting his kids. We were discussing what they should call me. Do your step-kids address you by your first name?

Or Party
Or the un-wicked when they are being formal..

They already have a mum. You're nothing mother related to them. Why even make an issue out of this.

You obviously don't have kids yourself if you think that being their dads girlfriend makes you anything "like a mum but not real mum". You will be nowhere near mum to them and please do not let your bf suggest to them before they've even met you, that they call you anything other than your name!

My stepdaughters call me a pet name that my brother and dad have used for me since I was born. Because I'm 'foreign' to them (I'm British, they're Danish) they didn't realise it wasn't a real name for a couple of years..

I became "step-dad" the day one of them asked if they could call me that - we'd never mentioned the term before that. (I should add in Denmark nobody seems to consider marriage a factor on if you're a step parent or not - it's judged by the role you play in their life.)

Occasionally one or the other calls me dad by accident and then roll their eyes and say "you know what I mean..."
