There is no way to win in referring to the children. You’re cold/resentful/nasty/overstepping/weirdly territorial/anything else that might come out of left field.

It kind of reflects that you’re just always in the wrong for some people, no matter what you do.

My DS refers to DSDs as his sisters. Grinds XWs gears and she shouted at him once when he was around 8 or 9. He shouted back at her that they were his sisters since they had the same dad😂 Apparently the DD she had with her other husband is the only sibling they have 🤦‍♀️

Does anyone remember the thread where a posters ex had moved on and got a new girlfriend and the poster demanded she needed to meet the new girlfriend before her kids did. But then she refused to meet up with said girlfriend because she was basically playing games.

Less than 2 weeks after insisting SC's had to be invited to my cousins wedding because it was a "family event".

Also note my child wasn't invited either (because it was an adults only wedding).

It baffles me how some of these amazing ExW are still single you know. It must be the "other woman" (who didn't arrive on the scene until 5yrs after the separation) and definitely not their ExDH running for the hills, as every person since has too. Definitely not.

Courtesy of one of the girls I used to work with, when she booked a surprise night away for her and DP on a non contact weekend for her own birthday, and the ExW was trying the "What? You've excluded your own child from a holiday!"... And "work girl" had pointed out it was not a holiday, it was one night, in a very boring adult hotel, for an adult birthday celebration, on a non contact weekend, so no, she hadn't arranged for the SC to come along on the weekend she was supposed to spend with her mother...

Ooh I nearly forgot the corker that was "Your dad (as in my father) should be spending the same on DSDs" after he gave his grandson money towards a car. Each of the girls got £100 each every Christmas and birthday from him... Luckily DSDs call her out each time, but I did consider buying a shovel

I'm not a SM , but the most bonkers thing I've noticed on these threads is that if you are one,nothing is yours. Not your home,you wage, your personal things, your bedroom, your kids,your partner/husband, your time , your illness, your time off etc. Everything is either the step child's , to be shared with them or a burden/trauma for them.
