Its nice that you have a lake close by so that you can have lunch there and feed the ducks, where I work there isn't anywhere to eat so I land up going to cafe's and it works out expensive.

So much for having the day off and relaxing, I just couldn't help myself, I landed cleaning all of the windows and cleaning the house from top to bottom. Why is it that women when they have a day off they work harder than they do when they are at work?

Yes I'm very lucky Smile It's lovely down there, and only about a 3 minute drive from work too

Oh yes I know exactly what you mean - I always come to work for a rest on Monday morning. And it's Easter soon, I've got 4 days off. DP has to work all weekend, he doesn't get bank holidays off so I just know I'll working most of the time. I shouldn't really grumble though, he certainly does his fair share of things on the whole

Day 5 of my diet.....it's going very well so far. I'm going to lose 2 stone before we go away on 9th June Grin

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 15:33

Good keep it up Naam, well done!

I did try to diet but it is difficult when you eat in cafes. Mind you I am losing weight anyway, I don't know how much I weigh but my clothes are getting loose - it must be my nervous energy running around because I don't get time to run around and exercise these days.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 04/04/2006 15:50

We've got an exercise bike, I've thought about going on it....well it's the thought that counts isn't it? Grin I will go on it in a few weeks, IME the weight will drop off for 3-4 weeks then slow down so that's when I'll get on the bike

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 15:57

Yes but it is Easter soon, how are we going to resist the Easter eggs? lol

Can't wait to have four days off, dp has to work at least one of those days though. I'm hoping that we can get the boat out and go fishing (but knowing my luck we will have the step-kids that weekend). Still, we went trout fishing Sunday, it was really nice and relaxing. Smile

You are sooooooo lucky living near the sea Envy Do you get many tourists in the summer or isn't it that kind of place?

DP is supposed to be on afternoons over Easter, I'm really, really hoping he can swap to days. Afternoons are awful, he goes out just after half 12 and gets back just after 10 - nightmare!

tbh I don't really mind that he doesn't get bank holidays off, there's bugger all to do round here and if you go anywhere you just sit in traffic for hours. Although it would of course be better to have him with me at home

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 16:14

Its not that kind of place Naam, we get the odd American tourist because there are a few places of interest but thats about it.

I wish I lived so close I could see the sea when I looked out of the window, I would love that!!!

I could become a serious beach bum and laze about on the beach everyday in the Summer. Grin

NotActuallyAMum · 04/04/2006 16:18

Hello workingmum, how are you?

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 16:22

Hello workingmum, how are you today?

I'm rather Envy of you eating pizza yesterday evening. Smile

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 04/04/2006 16:34

Oooohhh yes, a sea view - how fantastic would that be??

I'm Envy of workingmum's pizza too

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 16:44

My friends parents live right next to the sea, well, their back garden backs onto the beach!

They complain that the sea-gulls wake them up in the morning, I think I could cope with it somehow, what do you think? Would you be able to put up with it?

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 04/04/2006 16:52

Hmmm, now let me think, erm.....

DEFINITELY Grin

Small price to pay, very small price in fact Smile

workingmumnhs · 04/04/2006 16:57

sorry just fell asleep. really sleepy

tarantula · 04/04/2006 17:01

gosh all this talk of diets. Think I'll sneak away quitely and leave you all to it.
Wish I lived near the sea too. It'd be fab. Cant complain too much mind as we do live in a nice part of (very much) Outer London and are surrounded by loads of parks (wild parks not football pitches and children playground type) and open green spaces.
Cant wait for the weather to get warmer so we can get out and about more.
Havent planned for Easter yet. rang dss last night to find out what he wanted to do over Easter and he didnt even know when his holidays started! He worries me sometimes. How many 14 year olds dont know when their holidays start??? Or was it just me that always knew exactly when they were getting off?
Hope thsi weather holds out for the holidays as it'll be great to get out and go places and get some more of the garden done. we got loads of veggies planted over the weekend.
lol at you breaking the phone Squirrel. Cant thnk who taht reminds me of Grin. Why do men do this lyin gto keep the peace thing when they KNOW taht we will fins out eventually. Strange beings that they are.
Well off home now. Todays been FAR too busy.

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 17:01

DD full of cold. DOnj't think she slept at all last night

Squirrel3 · 04/04/2006 17:06

Poor dd, hope she gets better soon, its horrible for them when they are ill and can't sleep, even worse for you because they can sleep the next day but you can't. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.

Hello all Smile

How is everyone?

Squirrel3 · 06/04/2006 08:58

Hello Naam, I have emailed you (re: your other thread) I hope it helps. {hug}

I've got to go to the dentist today [horror emoticon] Come on give me loads of sympathy please. Wink

Then after that I have a driving lesson, I hope I am not still dribbling like baby from whatever the dentist decides to do. Blush

NotActuallyAMum · 06/04/2006 09:18

Thank you Squirrel Smile I'm registered with MN on my home computer so I'll see it when I get home. Thanks again

I do feel a lot better today, it's just so bloody infuriating when DP can't see any wrong in her at all - we did have a good talk last night though and I think he is finally beginning to realise that she's not perfect and has her faults just like the rest of us

Ooohh dentist, you have my sympathies. And a driving lesson too - hope it goes well

And you are of course going to the doctors too aren't you?????

phoebe30 · 06/04/2006 09:50

Hi NAAM saw you thread yesterday and do feel for you. Glad your feeling better about things today. My DP can't see any wrong in his daughter either and its very frustrating, its hard to get them to see your point of view sometimes. At least you managed to have a chat about it though.

Squirrel3 · 06/04/2006 10:02

Yes Naam, I am going to the dr's (its next door to the dentist) dp has been sneaky and asked me to drop in a repeat prescription for him in the hope that I make an appointment while I am there.

I have applied for 16 jobs in the past 2 days!!!! Can you tell I am unhappy at work ATM? Its hard work applying for jobs, I am applying for 'anything', I'd do cleaning, stack shelves or work tills if it meant I would be more relaxed and less stressed all of the time.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 06/04/2006 10:25

Thanks phoebe Smile

I don't blame you squirrel, I'd rather do anything than be stressed out too. You'll find something soon, try to keep smiling Smile

Glad you're going to the doctors
