BTW NAAM have you spoken to FANC lately? Send her an e-mail when you can.

Sorry to hear about your dd squirrel, how awful for you. Just read the thread. Is her DP still around? Don't suppose he's any help though even if he is still there from what you've said about him before. Hope she can find the professional help she needs - and I hope she realises what a wonderful mum she has Smile Have you spoken to her today?

Strange you should mention FANC. I e-mailed her last Tuesday and had a reply this morning. She's still not too good - still not well health-wise and her skids are generally getting her down. I've just e-mailed her again early afternoon

You must be so worried about your dd and the gkids, so Sad for you. {{{{hugs for all}}}}

Squirrel3 · 13/03/2006 15:48

Funny you should say that about FANC, did exactly the same as you emailed her and got a reply this morning, I wish we could do more to help out.

About dd's dp, he was shouting and screaming the most vile things to her as I was on the phone trying to talk her out of the unthinkable, (she phoned early Sunday morning) my dp started to get dressed to go to her house and throw him out himself but the total waste of air left her house as dp got to the car. I told dp to wait then I got dressed and I went round to hers, she could hardly talk to me, I took over with the kids, cleaned up the house and told her to have a bath. Then we talked and I managed to talk her into letting me call the dr, I was quite relieved as she has now admitted that she is depressed and she needs help, its the first step to getting better.

She has been asleep most of the day, only waking up to eat, I hope the Dr can help her.

Squirrel3 · 13/03/2006 16:01

Got to run, got to wake dd and get her ready for the Dr's, will let you know what happens.

You're right Squirrel - admitting she needs help is definitely the first step to your dd getting better. I'm sure the doctor will do something for her

And yes please do let us know how she is

Squirrel3 · 13/03/2006 18:17

Quick up-date - How usless is dd's Dr?

She put dd on anti-depressants, then told her there was no point in putting in for some councelling because there was a 6 month waiting list. Her only option was to find some privately, dd is not in a position to afford private councelling. The Dr didn't ask questions, just put her on AD's then dismissed her. We didn't even get chance to ask if the HV could visit, I was a bit shocked actually and didn't mention it.

I could kick myself, I think I will phone the surgery and talk to the HV myself tomorrow.

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 13/03/2006 19:30

That's what I would do Squirrel - bypass the doctor and go straight to the HV

Really hope she gets better soon

workingmumnhs · 13/03/2006 19:45

Hello, Is anyone still there?

NotActuallyAMum · 14/03/2006 08:50

FruitAndNutcase · 14/03/2006 11:57

Hello all, hello again NAAM! (wink) how are we all?

NotActuallyAMum · 14/03/2006 12:00

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO FANC!!!!

Lovely to see you back Smile

Hope your presence will being tarantula out - she's not been on since Friday night

FruitAndNutcase · 14/03/2006 12:11

Hello! Its weird but good to be back. So where is Tarantula then? Perhaps the mention of some vino will bring her out???? Lol Wink

NotActuallyAMum · 14/03/2006 12:27

Good idea FANC! The subject of alcohol usually brings her out. She'd had a few Guinness on Friday night when she posted, bless her Grin

Squirrel doesn't normally come on during the day - she started a new job last week

FruitAndNutcase · 14/03/2006 12:30

Yeah I was just reading through some old posts and saw that she has started a job. I think she told me aswell when she emailed. I do hope her DD gets better soon.

NotActuallyAMum · 14/03/2006 12:37

Yes I hope she's OK too. Bet Squirrel will be on later with an update, I'm hoping to come on later. LOVE being able to come on from home - got wireless too so I can sit anywhere in the house Grin

FruitAndNutcase · 14/03/2006 13:02

You lucky thing NAAM, my laptop at home is soooooooo slow that I just cant be bothered to use it! DP's eldest boy downloaded a load of crap and porn on it last year and it must have had viruses as it has been so slow since. Tried wiping it but I think it has been damaged! Angry

NotActuallyAMum · 14/03/2006 13:22

My laptop's brand new - got it just before Christmas and I love it Grin

I would be so, so Angry if that happened to me. dsd is totally banned off my computer - don't want to have to keep deleting the history every time I use it. She's got her own anyway which we bought her the Christmas before last so she brings that with her when she comes to stay

tarantula · 14/03/2006 13:36

Hello everyone. Jsut popped in quickly as am on lunch. Had a NIGHTMARE day yesterday (systems crashing left right and centre) and bloody meeting all this morning. a continuation of the weekend when the home pc went bananas jsut cos I changed its home (inspired to begin sorted the house out by NAAM Grin)

Great to see you back FANC how are you????? Have you tired a complete reinstall on your laptop if its that bad. Might just be what it needs.

So sorry to hear about your daughter Squirrel. I didnt see the thread yesterday. I hope she manages to get some support and def contact the HV as she may be able to get her some councelling through a different route.

How are you feeling wmnhs? Hope you are a bit more upbeat today.
Seems stress i in hte air at the minute all round then cos I ahd a pretty crap weekend too.

NotActuallyAMum · 14/03/2006 14:27

Nice to know I'm useful for something tarantula Grin We knew the mention of alcohol would bring you out Grin

Blimey we're all having a bad time of it just lately aren't we?? Think it must be stepmum bashing week!!

FruitAndNutcase · 14/03/2006 14:42

Hello Tarantula! How are you? Yes NAAM bloody nightmare, last time DSS came to stay I hid the laptop away, aswell as the computer as he had clocked up £30 on 6 calls to a XXX chatline! Little bugger!!!!! Angry

FruitAndNutcase · 14/03/2006 14:42

Meant to say aswell as the "phone" not the laptop! Lol

tarantula · 14/03/2006 15:15

Tis wierd how that happens Somone mentions booze and up I pop Grin. Actually that was part of my shitty weekend. Found dp has been drinking super strenght lager late at night on te sly cos hes so stressed. I hit the f*** roof. Am seriously worried about what planet he is operating from. He ws really down a few weeks back and he swears that was the only time he did it but I'm not so sure.
and dss has been up to his old tricks again. Took home a pile of cd games a few weeks ago. Kids games suitable for 3-10 yr olds. One is for 2-5 yr olds so like hes really gonna play that. I bought them when he was little for him to play round ours and he knows that they were to be kept round ours. Def think he is jealous of dd. Dunno what to do about it tho.

tarantula · 14/03/2006 15:17

£30 to XXX chatlines!!!!! I'd have hit the roof (r hit him with the roof more like). What age is your dss again?

SiobhanW · 14/03/2006 16:29
