Come hold my hand. Hoping for a win within fulltime. Is anyone else here?

I think this German team is incredible - their passing is perfect, the ball is falling at their feet, incredible!

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:28

something funny about that ball

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2010 16:29

we need 3 goals in 20 mins

Earlybird · 27/06/2010 16:29

Am in America, and commentator here keeps commenting on how it is the young German players who are really delivering this game.

Where are the young, up and coming English players? We seem to have the same old tired faces every time.

ReneRusso · 27/06/2010 16:29

Emile heskey? To save the day?

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:29

so we can do it

right?

we can do it

McSteamy · 27/06/2010 16:30

zzz

DH has given up!

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:31

neighbour down the road is going beserk

He was saying to me yesterday, "Shame about Engalnd, ZZZen". I said, "It's not over, till it's over"

but in truth, you know.. I kind of knew this would happen

Ghana is my last hope.

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:33

dd just ran over to tell me: it's 4:1 for England mum.

So that's alright then

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2010 16:33

EB - that commentator is spot on.

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:34

US had some nice looking young lads I recall. Maybe we can have a few of them.

jaffacake2 · 27/06/2010 16:34

Im hiding behind my flag this is embarrasing!!

Earlybird · 27/06/2010 16:35

Well.....if the game had been close, we all would have moaned about the disallowed goal.

But as the game isn't close at all, the ref's mistake can't be blamed (much) for the outcome - unless people say it completely deflated/demotivated the English team's morale.

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:35

yeah we'll go with that one, wrecked their morale

saslou · 27/06/2010 16:36

Think the govt should pass a law stating that the England team can only earn the average national wage until they start to provide value for money. The shame of being 4-1 down...

ZZZenAgain · 27/06/2010 16:37

but every time they tell us what a great team we have and how they're definitely favourites

yeah and then

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2010 16:37

at least that was a reasonable attempt.

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/06/2010 16:38

Let's face it...we are shit

DH is Syrian but all gung ho for England..I on the other hand have been rather chilled....as I tell DH its years of being let down and fucked over by refs...

compo · 27/06/2010 16:39

Good point, we're meant to be an older wiser team
but maybe we need a younger fresher team who aren't racked with failure in past world cups
Rooney = most hyped up player ever

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2010 16:39

We are rather. amazing we got this far.

williewalshsballs · 27/06/2010 16:39

it's a disgrace. i'm so deflated.
I hope they won't try and blame capello. He's been excellent. the boys didn't deliver when it mattered.

easy group = check
excellent manager = check
brilliant base = check
pre- tournament altitude training in austria = check

everything's been given to them. but they just didn't play

OP posts:
franke · 27/06/2010 16:41

Do you think this will be the end for Capello though? He will be blamed regardless.

williewalshsballs · 27/06/2010 16:41

rooney wilted underf the heat
not watching anymore. napping on sofa with ds

EB - I think there was a marked change in how much crapper we got after the unnoticed goal. Also Germans seemed to spot how slow our defence are and exploited that very well.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2010 16:43

why are we bothering with a sub? they might as well all get off and have a cup of tea.
