Starting one as the WSL began yesterday. Will be interesting to see how the one team without a male team, London City Lionesses get on.

London City won their game, they have made some exciting signings and proper investment.

I haven't watched our game yet, online comments were not positive. I think lack of investment is going to make it a difficult season for us.

I follow Arsenal Women, mostly because of my auntie, who is the only person I know who's interested in women's football.
I'm so excited to see what this season brings - it's going to be so competitive. I've been so impressed with the signings across the board. Both Spurs and LCL have recruited (and started) well and it'll be interesting to see if they can make an impression on the usual top 4. I think Man Utd might finish outside the top 4.

Big fan of Arsenal women. Both DIL's big fans-they went to Lisbon for the CL final and it was brilliant!!!

Yes, I saw one of the Spurs goals which was brilliant.

Lisa Baum was excellent for us today and she is only 19.

I think that a lot of the teams could be contenders for the CL places this season.

“We confirm there was a breach of competition rules (that) permit a maximum of 3 substitution opportunities.

That's interesting. The Palace under 21s were playing Wimbledon at Tooting & Mitcham's ground today in a cup match - one of their players had to leave at half time, T&M ground is probably a 10-15 min drive from Sutton where Palace play. They didn't have any subs named either.

The CP team came out after half time with only 7 players. One other then went off injured bringing them down to 6 so the ref then abandoned the match.

We were at Spurs vs West Ham today.
Spurs looked excellent in patches. New players definitely strengthening the team and Hanson's second goal was a worldie. Is it enough to go to next level? Unlikely with LCL investing so heavily - maybe a decent cup run?
The exact opposite of my team United where the lack of investment couldn't be more in evidence than in Bromley Fri night. 78 min for first shot on target. Didn't see it coz we were at WSL2 game but sounded dreadful.

This is bizarre - can't believe no-one noticed. Especially 4th official writing numbers down.
Madness - but in 97th minute, unlikely to impact the game unduly.

You would assume the officials would notice. I assume it's just an error on Palace's part rather than cheating as the substitute was made in 90+7?
I support Bradford City men and our opponents did similar in the cup a few years ago and we had to replay the game (still lost, like) so I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens here.

I isn't a good look for the club or the league officials. I don't expect there will be much of a punishment and CP deserved the win regardless.

Arsenal fan here. The scheduling is a little better this season, at least. And I think the full match replays are going on Sky or WSL youtube channels a bit sooner than before.

This season is going to be different - not that I expect anyone other than Man City, Chelsea or Arsenal to win the league, but there will be many more upsets and the competition for places 4-10 will be cutthroat!

I am thrilled with our squad, although we could do with a bit more height. I just hope Renee Slegers actually uses all her options.

To other Arsenal fans still grieving the loss of Beth Mead, she has clearly gone to a good home. The City fans gave her a huge cheer and a semi-standing ovation when she was subbed on. Jeglertz put her in the 10 position, which I am sure she will excel in in Viv's absence. She seemed so happy and comfortable with her teammates, and the blue of the kit really suits her too. Bittersweet feeling.

It will be interesting to see what happens. The fourth assistant should have stopped it, but that shouldn't let CP off the hook - they know the rules.

Replaying the match seems like overkill, since the sub was so late, and a fine just means in effect that a club can pay to break the rules...big clubs will just shrug that off. I think a one-point deduction would be a suitable penalty and serve to focus minds!

That sounds about right - the full 3 points being deducted seems harsh since the substitution was so late and probably didn't make any difference. Although I listened to Tom Garry on The Guardian Women's Football Weekly the other day and he said Everton were in the ascendancy at that point and the substitution broke their momentum and prevented them from equalising. So who knows? 🤷

Oh well, we (Arsenal) tried our best. CP defended brilliantly.

Everton were bad, passing was dire but thanks to a red card we managaed a win. Think the straight red card was harsh. Charlton then went down to 9 but those 2 yellows were deserved.

Well done to Crystal Palace who deserved the draw but I am hopping mad.
