Ha ha.

Who would you like to win tomorrow?

Bayern for me.

I think I'd prefer Bayern, but there's no easy option...

No but I am hoping that the fact that they have already won the league will mean that their momentum will have disappeared by 30/5.

But anyway, I feel like we have already won a trophy by just getting to the final!

But you shouldn't over celebrate.....

Such a weird article on the BBC

The atmosphere at the stadium looked incredible.

(Wish I still had my season ticket!)

Yes, so strange.

Then there are other comments saying that we are in an entitled club.

But surely if we felt entitled then we wouldn't be celebrating like that.

If you try to do something for 20 years of course you're going to celebrate when you actually make it.

MrsMitford3 · 06/05/2026 19:20

The celebration police out in force.
Saw someone on twitter saying the flares ridiculous and unheard of with a community note saying how many other teams in the knock out stages had them.

We have 2 ST-DH and DS went. It was just incredible.
No one wanted to leave-singing continued outside the ground and DH said even the tube was rocking.
DS always stays and goes to the same Arsenal pub after with his mates.
Said best night ever there.

Such wild enthusiasm doesn't feel like an entitled fanbase to me-but one who is incredibly happy and grateful to be where they are!!!

Hellohah · 06/05/2026 19:29

You bloody celebrate Arsenal fans.
Only 2 teams in the whole of Europe get to play this game every year, getting there is well worth celebrating and is exactly what the game is about.
Anyone having a go is a bitter, twisted, delusional twat.

Awww that's very nice.

I know rivalries aside I'd always cheer for the PL team in Cl
we will draw a veil over the one I may struggle to cheer for but it's not you 😉

Tonight we are all Bayern then?

OP posts:
TheNewGaard · 06/05/2026 20:13

Not looking good for that!

I'd back Gabriel and Saliba to deal with Kane, but Kvaratskhelia is scary.

You know if somehow Bayern make it through and then win the final, who will score their winning goal.

For some reason I'm finding the colours counterintuitive...

TheNewGaard · 06/05/2026 21:42

Fuck's sake, this is looking rather corrupt.

I don't fancy our chances against 12 men in Budapest.

What happened? I was watching the Arsenal women (we drew).

TheNewGaard · 06/05/2026 22:24

A few dodgy decisions, pretty much all in PSG's favour. Given that their owners have a stake in the CL ownership, it does worry me that it won't be entirely fair.

If we get beaten by the better team, all well and good (if not making me happy), but if it comes down to dodgy refereeing decisions, as we have had in the CL in the past, unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me...

I was confused, abhorred and horrified to see PSG celebrating getting into the Champions League final.

From media reaction I thought it was only Arsenal who did that disgusting shit.

Rio Ferdinand is going mental

There is quite a love in with PSG in the media isn't there.

You can bet that the media in Germany supported Bayern and France all about PSG-
why is the British media not supporting an English team in the CL final for gods sake??
It is now getting silly...

Good question. Maybe it’s not seen as newsworthy here because it’s fairly common for an English team to reach the CL final. Just from a quick Google, since 1999 (so the last 27 years), English teams have been in the final 13 times, with 3 of those against other English teams. Also, maybe the media don’t want to be seen to be taking sides by rooting for a particular team?

Fandango52 · 07/05/2026 15:16

I’m quite enjoying my little deep dive into CL final teams!

As well as English teams making it to the final 13 times, apparently they’ve also won the most CL titles.

French teams have only been in the final 4 times though, with PSG in the final 3 times now.

Bayern have won it 6 times and competed 11 times.

So with PSG and Bayern being the most successful French and German teams - but a few different English teams making it to the final and winning - maybe that helps explain the difference in French, German and British media support?

DuncinToffee · 07/05/2026 21:59

Well done Villa and Palace

That is three English teams in European finals.
