Can't tell if it's kicking a man when he's down with Tudor or a blessed relief for him 😂

It's probably a blessing, especially in his circumstances, but I have no idea what they do next!

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2026 17:35

44 days, 7 games.

Who will be next? I have seen mentioned, de Zerbi, Redknapp, Poch, Dyche

I really hope it’s Poch!! I doubt it will be though, as I’m sure he’ll be focusing on the World Cup. I’m hoping he might come back after the World Cup, but not sure how realistic that is. Maybe they’ll hire Dyche? Or rehire Ange? 😄 Part of me wants that to happen, as I really liked him despite our awful PL standing at the end of last season. And he won us a trophy!

I don’t think de zerbi is the right man- I loved him at Brighton but he is not built for a relegation battle I don’t think.

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2026 18:49

From The Athletic

Two Tottenham Hotspur supporters’ groups have urged the club against pursuing Roberto De Zerbi as head coach, citing the Italian’s public backing for Mason Greenwood.

Also isn’t de Zerbi another moneyball manager like Thomas Frank? Would he have time to influence the Spurs set up without having an analytics team influencing transfers etc. It’s a bit of a different problem that Spurs are facing- but who knows maybe he can manage in a crisis. The Greenwood issue won’t help either.

Piknik · 29/03/2026 21:58

Apparently Zerbi has said no, but Spurs are pursuing him with a relegation bonus guarantee. Everything about tells me he is not the man for the job. He doesn't want it and in order to pressure him, they are taking away his incentive to battle.

Honestly was laughing at all the 'Someone call 'Arry crowd but at this point a Spurs man - Hoddle/Sherwood/Harry/Defoe - does seem the best option to see out the season. And then Poch please.

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 29/03/2026 22:25

Won't be Defoe - he's just got the job at Woking.

Yes surely in their circumstances the last thing you want is a manager who doesn’t really want the job!

TheSleepingGiant · 30/03/2026 08:46

Now is not the time to start a new project, they need a short term attacking motivator who understands the predicament and who can hopefully make an immediate difference. It may already be too late but a manager from abroad with no PL experience would almost certainly see us relegated. For me personally, I'd rather go down with Redknapp/Sherwood/Hoodle/Houghton at the helm - someone who is passionate about the club and will have given their all.

Oh dear Vale

Saving their best performance for their match against Chelsea this weekend hopefully Smile

Comefromaway · 30/03/2026 09:55

Well I guess we were missing two internationals and Waine has just scored for New Zealand.

Sorry I hope you didn't take that as a dig, it's nice having a big cup game to look forward to. Gillingham have scored 1 goal in 6 games and conceded 16 in the same amount of time so no stranger to heavy defeats. Plus they aren't even trying now which is making it all the more depressing.

Comefromaway · 30/03/2026 10:18

No, I didn't take it as a dig. It's just that I have literally just had a notification pop up on my phone that Waine scored and New Zealand are beating Chile 4-1. Could have done with some of that on Saturday.

Piknik · 30/03/2026 10:55

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 29/03/2026 22:25

I know and I think he's done the right thing to start with Woking and build. Good for him. Our loss though - I mean he was just a wild card temporary candidate but at least he knows and loves the club.

Honestly, I despair.

This is interesting, thank you. I hadn't realised it was so complicated.

Brefugee · 30/03/2026 17:30

It stinks. We managed to get rid of Monday games by launching coordinated protests at all matches. And managed to keep the fixture list out of TV execs hands in the sa.e way.

Such as shame that they are not showing the U19 match against Portugal. Max Dowman and Rio are both starting.

We are 1 nil up after 5 mins

Itstheyearitstarts · 31/03/2026 16:50

That’s De Zerbi confirmed on a long term deal. That I feel is another mistake from Spurs

5 years so he will get several million when he is sacked.

The PL have spent over £40m so far firing managers.

Yes as I said before I like De Zerbi but I don’t think he is the right manager for this situation at all
