This is going to be an interesting year with the regulation change.

Rumours are Mercedes and RB engines are exploiting a loophole and so may have the most powerful engines.

AM will have a car with significant input from Adrian Newey.

Sauber becomes Audi and we have an 11th team, Cadillac.

Christian Horner seems very keen to get back into F1, preferably Alpine with Flávio - they deserve each other.

There is closed door testing in Barcelona then open testing from 11 February at Sakhir.

Oof, that sounds like a complete nightmare for Aston Martin. Poor Adrian Newey, he looked quite defeated giving that speech.

I am also making sure that I have no AM cars or drivers in my fantasy teams!

I think he may have some weakness in his hand/wrists. As far as I'm aware the break last year was connected to an old injury, so he must have some kind of lasting damage/weakness in the hand/wrist, which probably makes driving with severe vibration next to impossible.

Can I ask where the info upthread about Bahrain GP being cancelled has been shared? We have a UK-based race day experience booked for a relative’s gift & haven’t heard anything from the organiser. Has the cancellation been officially confirmed? (I agree with it being cancelled given the situation in the ME, by the way.)

There was meant to be some pirelli testing for wet weather tyres, in Bahrain that was cancelled but AFAIK they havent actually canceled the gp (yet)

I just put Aussie free practice 1 on (recorded from earlier) and my immediate reaction was that I hate this damn music quickly followed by where is the T?! 🙄😂

I usually have NowTV but Im going away so it’s not worth it until I get back. Just seen FP1 and FP2 times and the top 8 are relatively close so we might have a good season. I hope we get lots of different winners this year.

The World Endurance in Quatar was cancelled. The deadline for deciding about F2 is after this weekend, earlier than F1 due to freight shipping deadlines.

It is looking very likely Bahrain will be cancelled.

DS was watching the sky coverage of fp1 and 2 this morning, and said he thought Sunday was going to be chaos! Im a bit sad I won't be watching it live with him....or virtually alongside you guys!
Id love it if OP could get a home win ...but i think literally anything could happen.

I heard an engineer talking and he said that some courses would suit the new regs better than others (he gave technical reasons that I sort of understood as he was explaining but I forgot what thry were 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) ...but that Melbourne wasnt one of them...

I’ve got FA cup 5th round tickets on Sunday so I won’t be joining Dd at 4am or I’ll be falling asleep in my seat.

@Comefromaway who are you supporting? My team were so very close to the fifth round.

Port Vale. I highly doubt we’ll win but we are going to be relegated so this cup run has been a welcome distraction.
