Happy New Year.

This is going to be an interesting year with the regulation change.

Rumours are Mercedes and RB engines are exploiting a loophole and so may have the most powerful engines.

AM will have a car with significant input from Adrian Newey.

Sauber becomes Audi and we have an 11th team, Cadillac.

Christian Horner seems very keen to get back into F1, preferably Alpine with Flávio - they deserve each other.

There is closed door testing in Barcelona then open testing from 11 February at Sakhir.

Edited for typo and thread title.

Lando out after he made up so much

Fizbosshoes · 24/05/2026 22:02

O ffs lando out now as well

SparklingXmas · 24/05/2026 22:05

Gutted for Lando, and poor George, it’s not looking good for the merc power unit!

Comefromaway · 24/05/2026 22:11

Much as I like Kimi I dint think he deserves the win.

Brazilianadventure · 24/05/2026 22:12

I think Kimi is going to be World Champion - I know it’s a long way to go but Kimi seems so fast.

I want to see Lewis on the podium now

Fizbosshoes · 24/05/2026 22:22

Who will get DOTD....i mean I suppose kimi ...but after George was out he hasn't had to do a lot!

Brazilianadventure · 24/05/2026 22:23

The gap in the RB rear wing is huge.

I’ve voted Lewis

Comefromaway · 24/05/2026 22:30

And that shows why

Brazilianadventure · 24/05/2026 22:31

Please hang on Lewis.

I really enjoyed that race and so so pleased for Lewis

Brazilianadventure · 24/05/2026 22:41

That was a good race.

Glad Lewis got 2nd

gingercat02 · 24/05/2026 22:56

That was a mad race. McLaren tyre choice?
Kimi and George will end in disaster some day. Great clean racing with Max and Lewis.
So many DNF and penalties.
Edited for typos

Really enjoyed the race and the podium vibes. Sad that the WDC gap is so large now and we were robbed of more Merc battles today. Mixed emotions really,

No words to say about how bad that McLaren inter choice was.

Comefromaway · 25/05/2026 00:56

I think Zac will have something to say about that tyre choice. Did anyone see Lewis say in the cooldown room Ferrari changed their minds at the last minute

gutted for George.

I wonder why they wouldn't let piastri change his tyres and start from the pit lane. He sounded really unhappy in the formation laps.

Fizbosshoes · 25/05/2026 14:22

Apparently Lando was appealing for different tyres as well.
Although ultimately Lando had the mechanical failure and Oscar crashed into Albon, neither of which affected by the tyres....

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/05/2026 14:32

I’m just watching the highlights now to catch up.

I tried to watch the race last night but literally just as the start lights were about to go out, someone rang me so I paused Sky and by the time I got off the phone it was quite late and I was too zonked out and distracted to pay proper attention to the race. 🙄

So today I try again and actually pay attention this time.

bluetongue · 30/05/2026 02:49

I’m a bit sad the next race is Monaco after Canada was such great entertainment. At least qualifying seems better now than earlier in the year so that should be a good watch at least plus there’s a race the week after.

Hoping for wins for teams other than Mercedes a few times during the year. I won’t be sad if Charles wins Monaco (or even Lewis).

Tried talking to my dad about the race last night and he hadn’t watched it. Was excited to discuss how good the battle at the front was and the George drama 😢 I was a bit sad because he’s an absolute Motorsport nut and the person who got me interested in F1 in the first place. He followed pretty closely last year but I think it was mostly to support Oscar / McLaren. It doesn’t help that he refuses to pay for TV and only watches the highlights. The man has a final salary pension and separate pension pot I could only dream of. He’s just too frugal for his own good sometimes.

BBC reporting MBS wants to remove the 12 year maximum term as President.

Apparently only some roles have the 12 year limit so rather than introduce 12 year terms for all roles he want to remove the one that applied to President.

He needs to go .

He really does. One person should not have so much power
