Always a fantastic competition. Back in the day, before Sky etc, there was one year when we had to follow it via Radio 4 and Teletext!

I’m worried I’m setting myself up for disappointment now that I’m expecting a record breaking win. Nothing else will do 😂.

@AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta. Some sports seem to get their own threads and others don’t! Ryder Cup is a big thing in our house.

Now I think of it I don't recall ever seeing a RC thread before and I've been here eons. Maybe I just never looked properly!

It is in our house too, installed into me by my late dad who I have absolutely no doubt is watching along above us and periodically leaping out of his chair with delight.

The Ryder Cup has always been a big thing for us! One year, before we got cable TV, when TV coverage moved off a terrestrial channel, the only way we had to ‘watch’ it was via reading Teletext (or Ceefax, can’t remember which) and listening to Radio 4!

Have settled in for the duration now, all trips for food, drinks or loo will be completed in the minute or so of the ad breaks on Sky.

Feel sorry for Hovland, he must be gutted to miss out with injury. On the positive side, Europe only need 2.5 points to win outright.

USA will come out with all guns blazing though, they will want to do whatever they can to redress the balance.

Hope there is more robust control of the crowd today though. Some of the USA fans have been utter idiots.

Have to wait for the bloody Arsenal game to finish before I can watch! Tried listening to the BBC Sport coverage, but it’s just not the same.

DH wanted to keep switching between the footy and RC. I gave him a LOOK. 🤣😂

DH is as keen on the RC as I am. Unfortunately an Arsenal game still takes priority.

I’m absolutely hooked, we’ve watched it all. What a team - they seem so together. I’m disgusted at the behaviour of the US fans, absolutely not in the spirit of the competition at all. Also JM Olazabal makes me cry every time he gets emotional about Seve 💙

just coming on to say I cannot believe the US ‘fans’ behaviour- abusing players and their wives too . So pleased Europe are doing well . De chambeau’s putting mare has cheered me up enormously. Fingers crossed!

Same. I'm a terrible coward when sport or horror films start getting tense, I have to switch over or leave the room. Hence the fact I am now in the bath and desperately trying not to keep refreshing the live updates.

We have been glued to it for the duration. Just so evident that playing as a team, the friendship etc and for no money, means so much more to the Europeans than the Americans.
Have always been a proud European but particularly feeling it this evening.

They only need 2 points, (to retain, 2 and a half to win) Europe are going to do it...but I'm glad they went into the last day with such a healthy lead!

The US team are paid $500,000 each. After a lot of criticism, most are saying they will donate the fees to charity
