We go every year and went again a couple of days ago for both sessions. You need to have a PDC membership and log in via multiple devices on the day they go on sale. You need to be ready to refresh your browser at precisely the time the tickets go on sale.

We got table seats for both sessions but had tickets in the basket literally 15 seconds after they went on sale. Within less than 2 minutes they’d all gone.

The reason for the increased demand particularly after Christmas is the vast number of overseas fans who now attend. A decade ago it didn’t sell out for most sessions and foreign fans were almost never seen. Since the Euro tour got more popular the numbers travelling over from Europe have steadily risen. Well over half the crowd are now from Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria.

We do have a PDC membership but IIRC the tickets went on sale in the middle of a working day so it wasn't possible to be waiting with multiple devices etc. Also caught out a bit because it hadn't been like that even a couple of years ago. Yes, they said about 40% of ticket sales went to Germany this year.

Missed yesterday evening as was at football, will catch up while at work today. Think the final 4 is about right though

cheesychipsontheoche · 02/01/2025 07:07

I think this year is the last year of the contract for the Ally Pally. Will be interesting to see if they consider a move to somewhere bigger

The PDC always put every event on sale at something like midday on a working day. We both WFH most of the time so can easily block out 15 mins to sort tickets. I agree if you don’t have a job with similar flexibility it will be almost impossible to access tickets for the WC.

A lot of big sporting events all seem to do that for some reason. Almost none go on sale at say 11am Sunday or even early evening when surely most people wouldn’t be working.

Yes Barry Hern has been quite open about the fact a move away from Ally Pally is likely I think.

I have to say, for us it's a PITA to get to either driving or public transport (we live on the south coast and have previously driven because of the unreliability of trains over Christmas). So a move would be interesting from that POV as well as for ticket availability.

LoveTheDarts · 02/01/2025 14:34

Hearn has hinted a move to Saudi though like the snooker - maybe not for the worlds but it's all about the money. He mentioned in Game of Throws about there being vast areas of the world that haven't been conquered yet.

Yup absolutely wouldn't surprise me if more moves to the Middle East. As long as Maychplay stays in Blackpool I'll be happy Grin. Love Ally Pally but it's an expensive/long trip for us and also going a bit too football crowdy!

JaneJeffer · 02/01/2025 21:03

Bah!

SlingingArrows · 02/01/2025 21:26

As expected!

LETS GO BUNTING MENTAL

JaneJeffer · 02/01/2025 21:27

Yes would have loved Dobey to get through Smile.

JaneJeffer · 02/01/2025 21:32

I did enjoy MGV swearing and Sky having to apologise though Grin

SlingingArrows · 02/01/2025 22:27

Is it bad that I really really want Bunting to win but also really really want to go to bed and not sure I can hack a comeback!

ExquisiteDecorations · 02/01/2025 22:33

I've just been saying the same. That's the problem, having watched it every night since the break I've got darts fatigue tonight.

JaneJeffer · 02/01/2025 22:52

Well done Luke. Inevitable really.

SlingingArrows · 02/01/2025 22:55

Aww gutted, to lose 6-1 with a 100 average is just crazy.

SlingingArrows · 02/01/2025 22:55

Right backing Littler for the final now, come on Luke!!

Oblomov24 · 03/01/2025 19:49

All sat waiting for the final. Can't wait!

SlingingArrows · 03/01/2025 20:24

Can't believe it's nearly all over for another year!

ExquisiteDecorations · 03/01/2025 20:34

It goes so quickly after the Christmas break

cheesychipsontheoche · 03/01/2025 20:52

Bull double 10 to check out. So cheeky

SlingingArrows · 03/01/2025 20:53

I reckoned this would be 7-4 Littler but not so sure now...

AnneShirleysNewDress · 03/01/2025 20:58

Delighted so far but still nervous. Come on Luke!

Oblomov24 · 03/01/2025 20:58

Set 4!
