Incredible game from Nebrida!

SlingingArrows · 22/12/2024 21:56

Oh Gary Sad

Sausagesonlegs · 22/12/2024 22:01

Gutted for Gary Anderson too. Lots of seeds being knocked out.

cheesychipsontheoche · 22/12/2024 22:09

Really bad day for the seeds today. Gutted for Ando.

Mygreyhair · 22/12/2024 22:21

It is Gary’s birthday today too 😔
Cracking game from De Graaf though.

murasaki · 22/12/2024 22:32

I'd thought Anderson was in with a shout of the semis at least this year.

ExquisiteDecorations · 22/12/2024 23:11

Gutted for Gary, he's one of my favourites. Van Den Berg through comfortably though which is good. I was out all day and only got back for those two, hoping to see more tomorrow. Although I have got to go to work Sad

Anyone else wondering gloomily if they'll ever get tickets again, we tried this year but sold out in 15 mins, previously it was quite easy, everyone's saying it's the Littler effect. I'm pleased generally about its growing popularity but our DCs had just got old enough to really enjoy going and be able to drink and have only been once which is a shame.

LoveTheDarts · 23/12/2024 12:39

We went to minehead this year @ExquisiteDecorations - we tried for ally pally but it's impossible. We've been down to Modus on a Saturday too - brilliant night out and so cheap!

I suspect today is going to be a slow afternoon with the line up 😂

@ExquisiteDecorations yes we didn't try for ally pally this year but I know how awful it was to get tickets, my cousin ended up getting some for one of these early sessions from one of those travel MLM huns who do sports ticket + hotel deals, ended up being £130 each for hotel and ticket so they did get a decent deal!

We are lucky to live very close to Blackpool so will always be happy as long as we get matchplay tickets which was harder but not impossible this year. I also have family close to minehead so we are hoping to do one of those at some point as even though it's a looong drive we can see family too.

ExquisiteDecorations · 23/12/2024 14:21

We did get some emails about the hotel plus ticket deals, but with 4 of us and not actually needing a hotel that worked out v.expensive. There were also ticket plus travelcard deals but it's easier to drive from where we are and trains are so unreliable over Christmas. We don't live particularly close to any of the other PDC venues but will have to give it some thought in future. There's nothing quite like the Ally Pally at Christmas though.

Missing the darts today already 😂 might have to rewatch Chizzy and Ricky - love Ricky's walk ons and we get to see another one at the weekend 😍

Just sat down in time to see Heta's 9!!

ExquisiteDecorations · 29/12/2024 23:10

Well, Peter Wright, who'd have thought it? Incredible result.

LoveTheDarts · 29/12/2024 23:14

Luke was too complacent and Peter has been playing so far in this like he used to so I'm not too surprised. Luke will come back - he's still (I think) the best currently.

Not surprised on the other matches today, the worlds seems to bring out the best in those that have had a tough year

Come on Rydz!

JaneJeffer · 01/01/2025 16:08

Dammit

MabelStark · 01/01/2025 16:20

@JaneJeffer We were rooting for home too! Great day of darts so far. Really enjoying it. xx

MabelStark · 01/01/2025 16:21

Rooting for Rydz that is not home. Might have had a glass of champagne or two!

JaneJeffer · 01/01/2025 16:25

I was just going to say it's not my home - but I have to be careful what I say because things get easily misconstrued on MN - still I was rooting for both the English players. Sláinte 🥂 Xmas Grin

murasaki · 01/01/2025 17:08

Really wanted Rydz to take it to a decider.

LoveTheDarts · 01/01/2025 18:35

I love how Rydz has his own song - hopefully he's not too annoyed by it 😂 good afternoon, we watched Rob and Romesh yesterday - if only they'd practiced a bit more 😱

Brilliant afternoon session let's hope the evening is the same!

ExquisiteDecorations · 01/01/2025 19:32

It's going to be hard to top this afternoon's games. Great quarter final line-up.

SlingingArrows · 01/01/2025 22:28

Well both of those games went as expected really!

We go every year and went again a couple of days ago for both sessions. You need to have a PDC membership and log in via multiple devices on the day they go on sale. You need to be ready to refresh your browser at precisely the time the tickets go on sale.

We got table seats for both sessions but had tickets in the basket literally 15 seconds after they went on sale. Within less than 2 minutes they’d all gone.

The reason for the increased demand particularly after Christmas is the vast number of overseas fans who now attend. A decade ago it didn’t sell out for most sessions and foreign fans were almost never seen. Since the Euro tour got more popular the numbers travelling over from Europe have steadily risen. Well over half the crowd are now from Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria.
