That was my first thought he looked great in the white ! He’s one handsome guy 🥰

We reckon he looks like he was drawn by Pixar. Grin

I also think Carlos is a nice man, he seems to have a very close family and despite having a famous Dad he was clearly taught to work hard and respect people.

It's the hair. Carlos always has amazing hair. Even when he takes his helmet and balaclava off, it just pings back into place.

Shampoo manufacturers are missing out on not having him advertise for them! 😀

I'm sure Schumi did the whole Loreal "I'm worth it" shampoo ads at some point.
Ah found it!

Brazilianadventure · 11/12/2024 19:21

@Sulusu Only David Ginola could get away with the “because I’m worth it” line.

However, I do agree Carlos could do a hair advert.

We could of course go back to the Brut adverts of Henry Cooper and Kevin Keegan 😂

@Brazilianadventure Seb did Head and shoulders ads at some point (when he had more hair) 😂

There is a treasure trove of F1 ads on YouTube. Some drivers are definitely better actors than others. My all time favourite and with a driver is one from the 90s with Damon Hill and Murray walker for pizza hut.

Decided I am well and truly a Williams fan from now on. Asked DH for a Carlos hoodie for Christmas.

He is so lovely, gutted he's not at Ferrari but will fully get behind the Williams Team and hope they can get up there. Love James too.

DH worked with Carlos snr in the rally work prior to moving to F1. He says he is a great guy and brought Carlos Jnr up to be humble and realise motoracing is a team sport.
Carlos Jnr has got on well with all his team mates able to race hard on the track and work together in the garage. I think the combination of him and Alex at Williams with JB as their driver mentor can be a very strong force for developing the car.

Sigh. 😐
Less accountability in the FIA.

Yup.

MBS is clearly a toxic, corrupt bully - and he is going to single handedly ruin the sport unless someone can stop him.

No interest at all in the sport - just in it to grab power and money for himself and screw the consequences (or the law).

ShadowsOfTheDays · 13/12/2024 20:00

I am really hopeful about the combo of Vowles and Sainz: both seem lovely hardworking sensible men.

Brazilianadventure · 17/12/2024 22:00

Ferrari gave Carlos a lovely goodbye present. He and his Dad both got to drive F1 cars at Fiorano. Carlos was able to talk to his Dad as they went round together telling him how to get the best out of the car.
There are some lovely videos on X and YouTube just google Carlos Sainz Fiorano.

@Brazilianadventure it was a nice thing from Ferrari.

Just highlights how shite Alpine were to Occon. Even Williams gave Colapinto a nicer sendoff. Occon got so many impressive results for Alpine in his years there, and he seems to have had hardly any send off at all.

Still no confirmation from Red Bull about the second seat yet.

Brazilianadventure · 18/12/2024 16:37

I agree, Alpine were awful to Ocon.

There are rumours about the RB second seat but I am waiting for an official announcement.

Oo.. looks like it's official now. Perez to leave. Just saw it on bluesky.

No word on his replacement though.

Edited

Twitter say it's Liam.

imworkinglatecosimasinger · 18/12/2024 18:25

I’m hoping Bottas will make a reappearance 😎

Brazilianadventure · 18/12/2024 19:36

The rumours are Bottas could be a Mercedes reserve driver.

I think Liam Lawson is the most likely. With Hadjar taking his VCarb seat.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/12/2024 21:26

BBC article said it was Liam going to Red Bull. Can't remember right now how definite that was, though.

wite · 18/12/2024 21:38

Do you think Redbull wish they'd taken Carlos?

Brazilianadventure · 18/12/2024 23:56

Sky News have just said Checo leaving and it’s understood Liam taking over. Not 100% confirmation.

I do feel sorry for Yuki if it is Liam.

No because Carlos wants to win.

ShadowsOfTheDays · 19/12/2024 08:27

I think there's something I miss about that - I know that two drivers who want to win must be hard to handle, but also surely it's better for the constructors?

ShadowsOfTheDays · 19/12/2024 08:32

And it's now Christian Horner CBE!

Brazilianadventure · 19/12/2024 09:46

Finally, Liam Lawson announced as RB driver.

I wonder who will get the VCARB seat.
