Anyone else watching today on day one?

I enjoyed the opening ceremony last night.

Makes perfect sense

Shout out to Dimitri Coutya for his two individual golds and team silver in fencing, and mahoosive shout out to the extraordinary Poppy Maskill who has three golds and two silvers in swimming. To win one medal is hard enough, to win a gold is amazing, but multiple golds and silvers to boot - chapeau and then some!

I was also made up for Alfie Hewitt and Gordon Reid finally winning the wheelchair tennis doubles gold they have wanted so badly, after silvers in both Rio and Tokyo. I have my fingers crossed that Alfie can finally get his hands on the singles gold too.

Going to watch the swimming heats in a bit and whatever else is shown in between but have to head out later and then back to watch the rest!

Alfie Hewitt in the final. He appeared to have had an injury, has had a medical time out but still seems in pain. Poor Alfie he has had such bad luck with the single olympic finals. 🙁

It was brilliant! Just managed to catch it before I had to go out.

Basketball final this evening, I can't wait!!

Excruciating for Alfie Hewitt after having match point - he fought so hard.

I don't usually watch tennis but was hooked by this match.

Same here. I usually just dip in and out and generally follow an interesting match. But this one reeled me in and I was hooked!

So pleased for Stephen Clegg - another gold 🥳

He's so lovely and on my ds first international camp and competition with Team GB he was there and really helped him. Or rather tried to help him with relay takeovers - but co ordination problems didn't yield the best results 🫣😂

DS co ordination problems that is - he's a physical class swimmer.

What a race in the women's T34 800m - so, so close to a GB clean sweep, with gold for the peerless Hannah Cockroft, an excellent silver for Kare Adenegan and Fabienne Andre only just pipped for bronze. Wow!

Hannah absolutely smashed that!! She was in a race of her own and gets married in just under a month!!!

Gutted for Aled Davies - a fine silver, but he so wanted to defend his title.

Feeling the nerves ahead of the men's wheelchair basketball gold medal match - come on GB!

blind football is fascinating

Isn't it just.

I watched the episode of The Last leg where they showed the interactive pitch that blind competitions could feel that showed where the ball was as the game went on.

Lee Manning (GB wheelchair basketball player) is an absolute BEAST!
