Can't find a thread so thought I'd start one nice and early for some pre chat.

Really don't think either England or Wales are going to get out of the pool rounds 🙁

Gutted for Fiji.

Huwipulotu · 10/09/2023 22:21

The officiating of the wales game was disgraceful. Poor Fiji - they have been absolutely robbed. Wales commit penalty after penalty on their own line and Fiji get nothing, then first penalty at the other end gets the Fijian sent off.

what is going on with the reffing here? With not even looking at the SA obvious red card and then Wales getting every decision. This is wrong. Seriously WTF?

KnickerlessParsons · 10/09/2023 22:24

Well as a Wales supporter, I am bloody relieved!
Best game of the tournament so far.

What were Wales like? I only caught the last few minutes, and Radradra's awful error. I remember watching him when he played for Parramatta. He was much younger and faster then! 😀

FinnRussell · 10/09/2023 22:29

Think everyone apart from the Welsh will have been wanting Fiji to win that one. They were properly screwed over.

Huwipulotu · 10/09/2023 22:32

Sorry OP but I disagree. A ref from a tier 1 country helped another tier 1 country win when they absolutely did not deserve it. Rugby will never progress if this disgraceful refereeing performance is not called out. That ref should not be allowed to officiate at any further games.

and it should have been a penalty try/yellow card in first have. Travesty. #Justice for Fiji.

GrouchyKiwi · 10/09/2023 22:44

I've not seen Carley have a good reffing game.

I do feel sorry for the bloke who dropped the ball at the end. He, and every Fijian everywhere, must have been so disappointed.

I enjoyed the Wales Fiji game as a neutral but I do think Fiji were hard done by too. Wales Australia and Fiji Australia are both going to be fun games.

Floralnomad · 11/09/2023 15:43

We enjoyed the Wales / Fiji game , did feel sorry for the guy at the end who dropped the ball . Warren Gatland comes across as a right misery .

FrayedBentos · 14/09/2023 20:16

France v Uruguay on ITV4 now. Thursday night rugby ….. fabulous!

Hellocatshome · 14/09/2023 20:43

Come on Uruguay 🇺🇾

KnickerlessParsons · 14/09/2023 20:57

Uruguay are doing ok. Shame that try wasn't alllowed

That try looked so good and the French were totally unprepared for it. Totally sad they didn't get it. Hopefully it fires them up but the captain looked very confused!

Hellocatshome · 14/09/2023 21:02

France are lucky not to be a man down.

algasport · 14/09/2023 21:15

Double standards. That should have been upgraded to a red...

KnickerlessParsons · 14/09/2023 21:21

Agreed.
It's turning out to be quite a good match though.

Floralnomad · 14/09/2023 21:34

It’s very entertaining . It’s a pity that the matches can’t be more spread out through the week rather than having the majority on the weekend .

AndNobbyDancing · 14/09/2023 22:17

Enjoyed that but agree with the comments above.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/09/2023 20:30

Poor injured chap but I love how everyone is cheering him, including the refs!

Love the Kapa O Pango. Hope the ABs get a big score, but I also want Namibia to do well so I'm a bit torn.

KnickerlessParsons · 15/09/2023 23:59

Missed the match tonight - had to go to a "Thing". Did I miss much?

OP posts:
Floralnomad · 16/09/2023 00:59

No you didn’t miss much , it was so one sided it was pretty dull .

KnickerlessParsons · 16/09/2023 09:51

I'm gutted I'm going to miss Cymru v Portugal today too, due to a commitment made ages ago when the RWC fixtures weren't in my calendar. I'm going to have to try to maintain radio silence and watch when I get home. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We are out for the day too so not sure if I will watch many matches today. Hopefully the 8pm. New Zealand Namibia was very one sided but my 10 year old watched too and worked well for him having a try every 5 mins as usually he gets bored.

KnickerlessParsons · 16/09/2023 18:32

Listening to Wales in the car. Wales really don't make it easy for themselves.
