So irrespective of views. Here we are. First March. Qatar v Ecuador. 1 goal.

OP posts:
MrsJackGrealish · 01/12/2022 16:23

and again Rom.

AndRashfordDancing · 01/12/2022 16:24

Does Lukaku not want to score? It wouldn't have been a goal but still

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 16:54

That's it, Belgium is out.

Croatia and Morocco through

MrsJackGrealish · 01/12/2022 16:55

All those chances and still couldn't score.

Floralnomad · 01/12/2022 16:56

Really disappointed with Belgium

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 17:04

I kind of expected this from Belgium but hoped they would prove me wrong

MrsJackGrealish · 01/12/2022 18:15

Right. Germany up soon.

I think Germany might squeeze though.

MrsJackGrealish · 01/12/2022 19:12

Noooooooo, I dont want Japan to go out.

AndRashfordDancing · 01/12/2022 19:35

Neither do I 🇯🇵

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:11

Japan 2-1 up now

MrsJackGrealish · 01/12/2022 20:12

Come on Japan!!

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:15

Costa Rica scores!

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:27

And again! Come on Costa Rica!!!!

AndRashfordDancing · 01/12/2022 20:27

Shit, I go to sort out some work and all this happens. Come on Japan

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:29

No! Germany levels

AndRashfordDancing · 01/12/2022 20:30

So currently Spain and Germany are going home. I'm sure it won't stay like that but ...

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:30

It's back to Japan and Spain

DewinDwl · 01/12/2022 20:36

Still baffled by Japan's second goal being allowed to stand. That ball looked fully out. What have they seen in the VAR room that made them make that decision? I wish they had shown more takes on TV rather than the referee's ugly mug.

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:44

Haven't seen that Japan goal yet.

Germany is back in the lead again, the are relying on Spain to equalise

Agreed.

DuncinToffee · 01/12/2022 20:55

Well that was mad and exciting.
Japan and Spain through and Germany is on the plane home.

AndRashfordDancing · 01/12/2022 21:02

Crazy that Spains progression was dependant on Germany. Feel for Costa Rica, they must have felt on top of the world when they were ahead.

burblish · 01/12/2022 21:14

I can’t remember the last World Cup with as many surprise (shock, even!) results in the group stage as this one. All bets off for the second round results?!

GrandTheftWalrus · 01/12/2022 21:30

Can they decide the ball was actually out and put Germany through or is the decision in the game final?

Eleusa · 01/12/2022 21:30

Actually seeing this I think it was the right call. Still in place by about half a millimetre.
