So irrespective of views. Here we are. First March. Qatar v Ecuador. 1 goal.

Great to see you all again for world cup chat. The lack of build up, and excitement has been sad from a football perspective (but perfectly understandable)

England could meet Ecuador...going to have to have radio on for match tomorrow, thankfully kids school are letting them watch.

We need to make sure we win our group as the Netherlands will surely win Group A and they are by far the strongest team in that group. We will surely beat Iran easily, so we just need to beat either USA or Wales and draw against the other and we'll be fine.

DuncinToffee · 21/11/2022 09:53

Netherlands won't be wearing the One Love armband anymore to avoid being yellow carded by FIFA

I think England and Wales haven't decided yet

AndNobbyDancing · 21/11/2022 10:12

Neither will England and Wales. Whilst this isn't the thread for it, it does make a mockery of everything the FA are meant to stand for. I think they should have worn it and got a yellow card.

DuncinToffee · 21/11/2022 10:18

I agree Noddy, I think it's even worse with the Netherlands as it was their iniative.

Anyway, busy day of footie today. Any predictions?

I go for wins for England, Netherlands and USA

DuncinToffee · 21/11/2022 10:19

Nobby I mean!

burblish · 21/11/2022 11:39

FIFA are disgraceful. All the relevant country FAs said they were happy to pay whatever fines FIFA imposed, but I don’t think it’s fair to put individual players in the position where they have to accept being booked (and also then run the risk of having to miss matches down the line).

Ifailed · 21/11/2022 11:46

but I don’t think it’s fair to put individual players in the position where they have to accept being booked

Which is exactly why FIFA have done it. The problem will never go away whilst FIFA is primarily a profit-making organisation, not one aimed at growing and supporting the game for everyone.

AndNobbyDancing · 21/11/2022 12:17

I'm going England 2-0, Netherlands 1-0 with Senegal scoring first but VAR ruling it out. Wales draw.

Can't watch the England game but will catch most of the other two. See you then

DuncinToffee · 21/11/2022 12:45

Shouldershoddy · 21/11/2022 13:15

The goalie needs to be off and being properly assessed…bloody shocking!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 21/11/2022 13:15

He should be off..

emerald1981 · 21/11/2022 13:15

DuncinToffee · 21/11/2022 13:15

Ridiculous decision to keep him on

JaneJeffer · 21/11/2022 13:17

This is ridiculous!

emerald1981 · 21/11/2022 13:17

Crazy he is playing on!

Jexi · 21/11/2022 13:17

Feel for him. You can tell he really wanted to try and continue. Better to be safe though. Was one hell of a bash.

GrandTheftWalrus · 21/11/2022 13:17

He should've been taken off straight away. What a bloody disgrace.
