Not when we've already missed and we really needed a goal.

England did really well, penalties are a gamble.

I foresee criticism of Southgate not giving two players game time and leaving the youngest for the last penalty.

I really wish Italy had played a cleaner game, they were fouling left right and centre.

You seem surprised, they have a long record for it, ask other countries too.

It's absolutely pouring with rain here so that will hopefully stem some of the trouble when the pubs chuck out.

I said to DP you could see the disappoint in Rashford's face. No one will be as disappointed as him. His face .

Some of those England penalties were awful. Too much showing off and silly tactics. You could see some were going to be misses before they even kicked the ball

Yes, Southgate will know his capabilities, its not like he was picked from obscurity to randomly take the final shot

I'm raging at the BBC right now.
Watching on iPlayer, which is a little bit behind live TV- unfortunately before I get to see the final kick, the BBC breaking news alert on the iPad spoilt the result for me!

I hope Saka isn't too hard on himself. Southgate had the confidence in his ability and anyone of the team could have missed the penalty. Poor kid - he done well under the pressure!

Saka played really well during the rest of the tournament though, and at times during this game. That will hopefully have bought him a lot of credit with fans and the media to lessen any backlash against him?

In contrast, Sancho is also young (although older at 21) and inexperienced, only came on for 2mins and hasn't played that much during the tournament. If he was last, he may well have got a bigger backlash. My step DC was at school with Sancho, he was a great kid.
