How can they say no one will point the finger of blame at them.

Of course they will. Just look at Southgate and how it's haunted him over the years. Saka is 19, and now he has this cloud which will loom over the rest of his career.

Yes Southgate said that missing that penalty haunted him for years.

And now his chance to put that behind him is gone.

I think we played amazingly well, better than we have for ages. Italy were clear favourites, and wasn't the case at all when it came to it, obviously they'll be heartbroken but every single player was a part of it, and what an amazing tournament. On the flip side of only 19, if he had scored it would have been celebrated that he was given the chance, pretty sure they are all aware of the possibility of it going to penalties.

Pickford Is the best England player but Kane not on form in this tournament. Jack Grealish is another stand out talent. Southgate is a great manager and has put together a good solid team with no prima donna but united and professional apart from penalties.

Southgate doesn’t strike me as the kind of person to force someone to take a penalty if they weren’t prepared.

For giving a young player a chance? Yes it's an immense amount of pressure, but it is when you play for your country, he obviously had faith in him and if he had scored which was by no means impossible, he would no doubt be commended for taking the risk.
